Franconian Way of St. James - stage 3 Pegnitz - Stierberg
On April 24, 2019, I get up at 6:10 am. My next accommodation in Stierberg reports at breakfast with happy news.
Around 8:40 a.m. I first visit the Church of St. Bartholomew. Then this time I really buy enough provisions in a supermarket.
I pull into Bronn at around 11:40 am. After visiting the Church of St. James, I get a pilgrim stamp and a small snack in the Cafe Weih, which still exists in 2019.
I have a nice conversattion with a couple from Austria about the Austrian film "Three Brothers on the Way of St. James" (see also playlist • Caminos de Europa )
Around 3 p.m. I arrive at Betzenstein and walk past 3 inns, all of which are closed.
I visit the parish church and make an entry in the church register. Thanks to a young man on the street, I can have a non-alcoholic Pilgrim's wheat beer shortly afterwards.
Pilgrim tip: Ask the locals where an inn is open!
In the forest I philosophize undisturbed about various topics such as service orientation, which understand in my job means that the customer is king!
At 5 p.m., a wrong turn in the forest leads me to the town sign of Stierberg.
The Landgasthof Fischer is certified accommodation for pilgrims (!). A nice dinner follows after a shower and laundry. Before going to bed, I make an entry in my pilgrim diary...
Distance: 18.5 km (actually about 25 km because of shopping and looking for inns etc. in Betzenstein)
