- Is the AtGames Legends Pinball 4K situation getting better? Over the last 6 weeks many customers have received their machines and have provided various feedback including positive and negative. Some of the pain points identified by owners included an abundance of pinball machines damaged in shipping and also performance issues with the included pinball games. Over the last week and a half AtGames has been proactive and provided various updates on these situations including looking into their packing material and also when performance issues will be fixed. In addition, more announcements about upcoming pinball game releases and firmware updates and National Owners Day. For early adopters was this just growing pains with a new product? Will everything turn out well in the end? Or, do we lack confidence that AtGames can see this through?

I have not witnessed a product launch of this magnitude before. I have not yet purchased the 4k, but I plan on it once the dust settles. Thank you for the updates.

I finally got, and paid for, my pre-order with the SSF kit installed. The nice thing about getting the machine later is hopefully by the time it arrives at least some of the growing pains will have been dealt with. Can't wait to get my machine.

It's still crazy to me that they shipped these games with the title game being unplayable...it's going to have to get allot better before I would even consider buying this product.. paying a premium price for a sub premium experience is just not acceptable .. Hope they get it straightened out for you and the rest of the preorder customers

Nice video, thanks PDubs. I got my machine too and love it, however I am having issues with OTG, how about you? My USB2 port does not work for OTG and there are serious latency issues, especially with the plunger. Have you had any issues? BTWs I do have a ticket in with AtGames
I haven't even gotten to test OTG Mode yet, I've been so busy

I got my invoice today and I'm still excited about it. I think they will get it all figured out, but I think they should do something special for the people who got their first. Maybe give a free game pack or something nothing super crazy just a nice gesture.

I am just curious if the 4k machines do better when hooking up your own PC and going OTG. I know lag was an issue on the originals, I got used to it for pinball FX2 but not the newest one, I thought they updated the board for this aspect to be better, but I haven't heard much yet on how much of an improvement this is, if the 4k nature of it means different specs for computer hardware, etc.
I been using OTG with VPX on mine and it’s worth the upgrade for that alone. 4k looks great, I have a 3060 in the PC.
Enabled the surround sound in VPX and it really kicks it up a few levels. One of those things I was fine without but now I can’t go without. Topper came broken, still waiting to hear on that. Assuming they fix the lag soon but in all I’m happy so far.

I ordered the Addams Family with the SSF kit preinstalled. I haven't received my invoice yet but I hope it's soon. This is my first time getting in the virtual pinball buzz. I love the idea of having hundreds of tables on one machine. I hope I'm not disappointed. This seemed to be the better product for the price. Fingers crossed. If I like it I'll probably invest in the 4K retro cabinet as well.
Should recrived that invoicd soon per the latest update, make sure you are checking your spam/junk folders.
I received my table Monday, I installed the SSF kit myself, took me probably 3 hours to build the entire table with SSF. Wasn’t too bad. Probably is only a 30 minute job without SSF.
I'm feeling like it's all upside to come... Here's what I mean:
The biggest surprise for me.... If I had my pre ordered packs I'd never play the stock ones... But as a result I'm really enjoying exoring the stock titles and they're bringing me a lot of joy. Like daily enjoyment.... I went from disappointed to very happy.

Thanks for the update PDubs. I have the Peanuts machine pre ordered. I’ve been going back and forth on whether or not to go through with it. The issues they’ve been having and the censorship has me reconsidering.
I have to say from a "looks" perspective I like what they came up with for the design and artwork on thst variant. Let's see what happens on the 20th if most issues go away

Imagine if arcade1up had these issues. Table lag, shipping problems, damage and delays... Customers would literally have been threatening company execs…. Oh wait 😭
Die-Hard Retro Gamers are very picky, casuals usually don’t care about most issues, was that way before these companies existed and will still be that way when they are gone. It’s all a matter of everyone’s personal preference or expectations
@@PDubsArcadeLoft agree, it’s just interesting to see how the community seems more accepting of atgames faults despite the product costing more. Is it more to do with the fact arcade1up have a broader appeal and therefore just have more customers to make more noise perhaps? 🤔
@@PDubsArcadeLoft personally I have atgames 4K and A1up pins. Both have faults, yet both are highly entertaining/ enjoyable products to own
At the current price, I feel Ike they should have fine tuned the machine before releasing the cabinet. Customers shouldn’t have to be the Guinea Pigs for these companies. It ruins the experience, especially at this price

I was going to keep my alp and have it next to my 4k, but after installing the sound kit. It is so much better I can not go back.. but I will say my sound system has static until it warms up.. I can't be the only one...

All of their products usually have issues at the beginning and after a yr or so everything gets ironed out. So you just have to expect this at this point. My 4KP was damaged in shipping. Plunger got leaned on and pushed into the wood. Everything seemingly still works. No response yet from at games. I’m sure I’ll have to ship the body back if they offer a replacement, which while I understand, is a huge pain in the ass I didn’t ask for.

Seems they really went for it. I have high hopes for Atgames and zen and am cutting them some slack on the timelines. They could have released one or two tables instead of all of them possibly to make things easier.

Remember they haven't had a decent nod since nod-a 2022, and their track record for firmware updates is awful. Hopefully they are ready to turn things around this year.

I’ll say it again. Atgames did NOT bring their “A-game” to Chicago Pinball Expo. You have to “come correct” when you come to Chicago Pinball Expo. Totally turned me off from this product.

I agree. I was at Expo and they very much hurt their image by being at the show with a product that wasn't ready.
I definitely felt 100% the same but since mine has arrived and I spent time playing the 15 shipped tables to fill the void before my pre-orders arrive.... I really have enjoyed playing all the stock tables
Has At Games ever released a game pack that includes the game Space Shuttle?

That table is on FX/ FX3 so they might relelase it for this machine
I just got my invoice. I am pretty deep on the purchase with ssf kit and all the tables so they got me lol. Hoping for no damage. I'll put it between two ALP's so I will know right away what I am looking at. I def default to current ALP owners for their opinions...

Love seeing those cabs lit up Pdubs!! lol. You know, so many people are quick to crucify a company when something new hitting the market for the first time has issues. AtGames, for better or for worse has learned from past mistakes and doesn't seem to waffle anywhere near as much as A1up. I think this really is a matter of being growing pains, but someone should page Kirk Cameron to be sure. lol

I think AtGames dug a hole using a 3588 and expecting smooth 60hz 4K pinball. There is no ceiling with this chipset. Look at the specs. The GPU can’t get er’ done without huge compromises. Irony being it does 1440p smooth, but that res looks worse than 1080p on a 4K display. Added: OTG is the way.

OTG Mode works well, but not everyone will use it, the stock games need better optimization
@@PDubsArcadeLoft I would suggest a more apt word is, "compromising", since no ceiling on a 3588 for 4K 60hz smooth gaming. The GPU is being worked to death- this isn't 2D math it's pushing out, even for most of the textures on the play-field.

Well like I've said on some recent livestreams it does feel like the software was a bit rushed to hit their shipping deadlines and avoid a mass of cancelations and $200 deposit refunds.
@PDubsArcadeLoft what a shitty way to run a business and piss off your base. This ain't their first rodeo either. I think people would rather have a completely playable and fully vetted machine than get it early. This hurts their bottom line now and in the future when they released their new and improved Gen 3 machine. I ordered their AFM pinball with SSF and am starting to regret it and am contemplating cancelation.
As all of us or most of us know, the higher the resolution, the more demanding it becomes on the GPU, CPU and RAM. 4k from 1080 is quite the leap in the processing power required. Granted this is "just" pinball, but still, there is a ton of detail and physics involved, so, the question is, the computer running the 4K machine, is it powerful enough? When any of my games lag on my computer, it is because of either poor optimization, see Battlefield 2042 from launch to today, or the need to upgrade my components. My hunch is, the 4k Pinball machine needs a better onboard computer. Has anyone tested via the computer to confirm this? I'm curious if the lag persists if someone hooks their pc up to this thing and has a decent modern GPU and CPU. I want to order this machine, but won't till they fix the lag, or until someone confirms that hey, just hook it up to your computer, and it'll run smoothly.
Yes people are connecting their PCs to run VPX, Zen Platforms and they work well

The platform will be fine. It’s just growing pains learning the new chipset. Zen has a history of poor performance on new platforms but makes things right in the end.

pretty disappointed so far. my alp4k arrived damaged. All they did was offer me a $50 digital pinball credit. My ssf has had no movement since fed ex label created on 2/1 and atgames is giving me the run around.
That sucks, mine came not damaged and my SSf kit was delivered with my table. Installing the ssf took me around 3 hours.

I swore that if this video didn't say everything was fixed and working with the AtGames 4KP now, I was going to unsubscribe from your channel (and then re-subscribe as, come on, I LOVE PDubs Arcade Loft)!
I REALLY HOPE the Gottlieb Tables are based off the Steam version of Pinball Arcade. I mean, that software can run off a basic Windows XP machine with the barest of video cards with all the bells and whistles. The 4KP's hardware has more power than that, but now will Gottlieb raise aloft their magic He-Man sword and give us that power!
Other than the Gottlieb tables (and others I've pre purchased), I wouldn't mind seeing a new partnership with Stern while they're at it, or getting the FarSight Studios versions of their existing Stern tables (Ghost Busters and Star Trek would be awesome), or heck, ditch Zen's versions of Bally Midway tables altogether and give us the superior FarSight Studios Pinball Arcade versions. FarSight's Addams Family plays great on my Mystery Encoder modded Arcade1Up Attack From Mars with no lag (and the PCB in that product is supposed to be crap). Oh, and why not go for broke. Give me VPin versions of the new Labyrinth and Elton John pinball machines that just came out while you're at it AtGames. I'll purchase those downloads today!

Getting better everyday. I took a pretty bad fall mid December and the recovery time is just long. When I get a bit better I plan on making a new video. I miss sharing stuff, but commenting is still a great outlet :)

About the single best and first thing AtGames should do to improve any of their product line is to start with firing everyone in "customer no-service" and hiring people who actually want to provide customer service.
Until they do, I'm no longer a consumer of their products. I spent the better part of two years struggling on and off with them for answers and never got them.

@@PDubsArcadeLoftMe too. I love my ALP - I just wish I had ongoing access to the games I paid for after buying it. I have access to my account for a few weeks and then it is a few months before I get it back. AtGames was consistently sub-par in their responses - when they responded at all. The only time I ever got an actual personal, (not canned) response was late last year when I finally blew my shit and called them out on their terrible customer service. That hurt their feelings enough to write me a note filled with self-righteous indignation, stating they were no longer going to help me with any issues. (As if they had up to that point.)
Hope they get things sorted and they probably will eventually. But, $1100+ is too much to get so ething that isnt right. This isnt a $60 console game with a day 1 patch. Personally, i feel at games ropes early adopters in to be beta testers with a discounted price. No thanks. These companies need to put out finished products. Until consumers vote with their wallets, nothing will change.

How does a video saying their announcements over the last 10 days addressing customer issues is a "good thing" for AtGames make me a "hater"? Unlike other youtubers I only work for myself and will hold this company accountable for delivering a $1500 experience to customers. Right now, it's not there yet
Got my email yesterday and paid for the Addams Family and SSF pre-instalation. Hopefully, by the time I get mine delivered (no damage, pretty please 🫣), set up and running, the patch will be here. Let's hope, once again, I end up being as happy as a flea on a dog's back with my purchase.
