Assassin Creed delay (and likely financial disaster), Star Wars Outlaws failure, Div 2 DLC constant delay, Div: Homeland collapse (as it was nearing completion), Ubisoft stock tanking, infighting at Ubisoft, Ubisoft ownership fight = disastrous future. I forese mass layoffs this year and Div 3 put on hiatus or push back from its projected date (that not a single person knows when it is set to release). Ubisoft may fold. Who knows what will happen if Tencent or that Saudi Arabian company sinks their claws into it...we can see heavily censored content. The future is not looking good for our beloved franchise.
I think the game will be made but based on how long it took Ubsoft to commit to the creation of The Division 3, i would be shook if they realed the game before 2027. More like 2028-2030
@ That’s actually the best thing that can happen. To be honest I don’t think massive knows how to tell a story or make the division the best it can be.
Div3 will never be released by Ubisoft. The ONLY chance of this game seeing the light of day is if the game IP and/or Ubisoft are sold and the buyer chooses to keep the franchise going. Unlikely.
I really don't care at all for any of Ubisofts projects OTHER than the Division. They're still going the wrong way, it's like I'm watching John Candy on the wrong side of the highway telling him but they never listen.
You want to stabilize the busisness? fire your current CEO. his idea that "gamers need to get used to not owning games" is disgusting. Start making proper games of QUALITY and you will be fine in a few years.
As a fellow loyal Div 2 player, I SO WISH I could share your optimism. Optimism is based on empirical evidence. Outlaws evidently did poorly. Same team that did Outlaws is now doing Div 3. Ubisoft itself is tanking by releasing failed game after failed game. So instead all we really have is hope. Hope they change and laser focus on content players actually want.
If the higher ups at ubi gave the green light for div 3 then they saw data and feedback that div 2 and possibly div 1 still has a strong and active community. Then its probably safe to say that the devs have a lot of new content and suprises coming our way then expected. Unfortunately tho even if it is a big win for div2 its only a matter time before ubi gets drawn out leading any future games in the dump.
I would like to see another developer who is focused on progression buy the rights to The Division and make it into what it deserves to be. The Division 3 should have been released when the new consoles came out years ago. This game is so unique and different than any other game out there. If we had a developer who cared about it we would most likely be playing The Division 4 or 5 by now. The things they could do with this game are endless, do west coast cities like Seattle or LA, Midwest locations, take out of the urban landscape and do a more rural setting, and so much more. I think Ubisoft just doesn't care.
12.33 at the close of trading today. This has to be a bit demoralizing for Ubisoft employees. We worry what it might mean to our beloved games, but assuredly, Ubisoft employees have to be concerned about their livelihoods. If Ubisoft doesn’t get a firm hand on the yoke, there will be debris on the tarmac and a lot of employees could be looking for jobs. Perhaps the phrase, “Hope for the best, prepare for the worst" is applicable. If I were a Ubisoft employee, which I’m not, I’d maintain a positive outlook and anticipate a favorable outcome; however, I’d keep my resume topped off, and my professional network in place should things turn out negative.
As much as this is scary for the division IP to be shelved and never seen again. I do think we will see The Division 3 not under Ubisoft but will be deleyed even further then we though but before 2030. This is massive for other IPs. I’d love to see Splinter cell come back. Imagine a Naughty Dog Splinter cell game. Holy moly.
The Division 3, in my opinion, will be released. Now, based on how long it took Ubsoft to commit to The Division 3, I would be extremely shook if TD3 were released before 2027. It should be at least a couple years... But it should be released before 2030.
I’ve been concerned about D3 for at least a few years. Even if it isn’t cancelled, the studios they have today have no idea why the Division was ever popular to begin with. There is no reason to expect that D3 will be anything other than a huge mess.
If Ubisoft survives in some form or another to make Div 3 I have a couple of real concerns. The looter shooter market has evolved a lot since Div 1 launched, so to be a commercial success Ubisoft or TenCent are really going to have to think outside the box. If Tencent acquire Ubisoft (likely) we could well end up with something like the Chinese version of the Div 2 and all the hyper predatory MTXs in that game.
Ubisoft is going through a rough patch I don't think a hostile takeover what happened because the French government will intervene. If the ship was thinking they would just sell some other last known franchises to please their investors and Division 3 might release late 26 what might delayed is the next gen consoles rumored set to come out 27 or 28.
Ubisoft needs to quit trying to make new franchises and the next Fortnite, and just focus on the franchises that actually make them money. They have too many managers and too many projects, and the higher ups all try to control what the individual developer studios do. You think Take Two controls Rockstar Games as much as Ubisoft controls Massive? I doubt it. Most people don't even realize how many companies Take Two owns, because Take Two gives them that much autonomy, and doesn't require their name put on everything those companies do like Ubisoft does.
They're screwed if they are counting on Assassin's Creed - Shadows to bail them out. All due to the lack of character customization for starters, then the mis-researched historical accuracy all in the name of "diversity"I guess?? and a massive mistep in researching the wants of their buyer personas and customer base (the gaming community). Their real saving grace would be The Tom Clancey/Division franchise. If you do some digging (which I am sure you and other creators have already) the division franchise is it's longest successful title (excluding multiple good and bad attempts at the Assassin's Creed franchise - Considering there have been what.... ~9?!) where Division has had ... uhh... 2)and the one that kept the lights on and the player base engaged for so long. I just hope that Tencent doesn't piss all over the titles and turn the division fanchise on it's ass with even more microtransactions or even worse...pay2win >.
Let’s hope however buys The Division IP also buys Massive entertainment with them so they can continue DIV 3. But chances are very slim. But it’s not all bad. I want Division 3 to be made and be a looter shooter. Doesn’t matter who develops it as long as it’s good
Just hope however buys the division IP actually plans to make the game. I do think we will see more division games in the future it’s such an amazing IP. But the next Division game won’t be under Ubisoft I don’t think. But perhaps that’s both good and bad
bottom line is they spread themselves thin and put to much effort into games that were a huge risk in the current market..they need to reign it all in and puts the eggs in the for sure baskets..one of them being division3...division 3 if they can deliver will be a huge pop for sure..how many of us been wanting div 3 and would be on that train for sure and not for nothing look how many people still playing div 1 and 2..need to get red storm guys back on the project and nail it down...period.
Why does Ubisoft develop games and then abandon them. I'm a huge fan of ghost recon but they just abandoned it. They need to keep players in the games they develop.
If the next Assassin's Creed instalment isn't a big success then i think the future of The Division is bleak, even if Tencent do manage to take over. They will re-evaluate the entire IP catalogue before committing to any new AAA games.
The way I look at it is, worry about what is going to happen does nothing good for you, lol The only thing we can do is wait and see. I really dont think there is anything we can do, however you can make a small difference by buying Assassin's Creed Shadows on release, My god this game looks good. They held back the release to make sure it was sound and ready and there are new move sets in the game that we have never had, Many videos about that available. But I am all in :D
Not gonna lie, I'm very concerned that the Division 3 is never going to happen. I blame Ubisoft for making games that nobody wanted like Star Wars, Xdefiant and the new controversial Assassin's Creed game. This company never fails to disappoint
So... if AC Shadows does well does that give us more hope for Div 3? Or if AC Shadows fails and Ubisoft get sold off do we have a better chance for Div 3? The current management for Ubisoft sucks. Thoughts?
Way i see it Ubisoft is trying to be the only devs or publishers out there expanding way too far.. Splinter cell i have never played and i still hear ppl talking about it i'd love to try SC just like ghost recon besides breakpoint are so good
They need to listen to the players and stop giving us the bare minimum the content they’ve been giving us is terrible d2 has great graphics but fall short of a great storyline compared to d1
Nobody has ever fi ished an assasins creed. It is possibly the worst game ever made. It gets so boring after doing the same repetetive junk after 5 mins. 1hr 10 jrs 50hrs 100hrs or 200hrs. The very same thing over and over. Its like a worker on a production line sitting there making sure the boxes are straight on a conveyor belt.
What are your thoughts agents?

@@TheGamingBrigadeTV keep up the great work you do , I appreciate what you do for all of us in the division and other games
I believe that this is checkmate for Ubisoft.
If you’re not concerned about The Division 3, you should be. The writing is on the wall and I don’t believe the D3 will be made
totally understand your sentiment

Its already in production, but could always be cancelled.
