Lossless scaling frame generation is absolutely amazing when used correctly, and keeps getting better with time. One of the best purchases I have ever made
Hope you feel better bud. I've been sick for 3 weeks myself here in Upstate Ny. Thanks for putting the work in even though you're not feeling 100%. It's appreciated.
Got it a long time ago, but only recently got started on actually using it. Mainly for video playback, combats motion stutter and makes the image sharper, very nice :)
While it is understandable you were sick and could not make the video as good as usuall, Here are few corrections 1: Resolution slider does NOT upscale, It is not the resolution quality, It is the amount of optical data that the frame generation take as an input, This has nothing to do with resolution quality or upscaling. Setting it to 50-60% the majority of people will not even tell the difference at all. tested it at 1600p and even at 30% it was fine, for 4k the same 30% can be more than fine while having significant performance increase. For 1080p stick to 55-60% 2: Most of your Frame gen tests in this video were with GPU usage almost maxing out, that what i would call a graving mistake. a big one. Keeping the GPU usage below 93% is extremely helpful for not only latency ( it can be greatly reduced by just keeping ur GPU usage below 93% ) but also frame pacing and frame graph will be flat giving you very consistent, smoother and better experience, A stutter free experience. 3: Instead of lowering your base fps to reduce gpu usage and sutters, You could have easily reduced the res slider even further to keep your high bas fps which results in high quality frame generation and lower latency while keeping your GPU usage below 93% for no latency penalty. the video could be considered misleading and harming the application reputation by letting the viewers watch it in a misleading explanations, But you are totally fine, You were testing while you were sick, We always appreciate how you always thrive to help and inform us about latest techs and hardware. Thank you
Hello and thank you! But, 1: as showed, the software says it upscales 2: i did lock the fps several times over the video and was recording as stated 3: that's a matter of taste I guess haha. Big hug
@kerkertrandov459 when your GPU is not reaching Max load you get stable smooth frames. Lower than that you might losing a decent amount of frames. Higher than that your risk stutters. But it's fine to go lower such as 80-90% if you satisfied with the frame rates
I used the previous version for anime, locked the frame time to 24 fps in the video player, and boom 2x and much mich better! The anime looks so much smoother.
Going to have to check this out with my 7900XT. As long as the lag isn't bad, I couldn't really care about artifacts that I don't usually notice. Maybe I'm just blind or just don't care lol
Get well soon. I really appreciate your vids dude. Lossless Scaling is amazing and I don't understand how he/she/they do this. I think the big GPU makers could learn from these devs. Thanks.
for games like rdr2 and elden ring that need fullscreen for HDR you can use Borderless Gaming also from steam to force it to borderless without losing HDR.
I have been using LS for about a year now. It is just phenomenal. From implementing multiple upscaling algos to framegen, I have seen it evolve. One thing for LSFG though (and sorry i did not watch the entire video), if you are CPU bound, please cap the FPS to 60 and then use 2x and maybe 3x. I have a ryzen 3600 and even 3x struggles to deliver but hey, it's on my side. I am just happy to see the tool grow. It's a slap on Nvidia's face!
Some suggestions: 1. Solve the fps limit in-game. MSI afterburner adds lag. 2. Keep the GPU around 85-90%. 3. The resolution scale can be easily set to 60%. 4. Turn off the smoothing mouse effect in Helldivers 2 and the mouse movement will be much better even at low fps.
Does your point about Afterburner also apply to limiting using Rivatuner? I see so many conflicting opinions online on whether to use system wide FPS limit or in game...
I just remembered I had this little software in my steam account. Bought it for like 2-3€ back in the day from sale and just used it for the first time a couple of days ago. And WOW I mean I'm using it with Beyond: Two Souls LSFG 2.3 (Highest my GTX 1070Ti supports) and it's just so much better! Ofc playing it with controller makes it harder to spot input latency and that game isn't usual game either in terms of moving and stuff :D What I meant to say is that I just can't play 60fps anymore with mouse and keyboard and some games make me sick even with a controller. This particular game was playable before but Lossless Scaling made it sooo much better for me :)
@@AncientGameplays also try setting the resolution scale for frame gen to 50%. It reduces a lot of the performance hit and I didn't notice any difference in quality. Lsfg developer actually recommended to use 50% scale in post about the framegen res scaling feature, that he found out the quality hit is not noticeable.
It's worth noting that right now on windows 10 the DXGI capture api which is on by default is not working correctly without MPO support due to a recent windows update, so WGC is the preferred method for now until windows decide to fix it
Hey Fabio, the resolution scale is only for the frame being processed which means it's for the motion clarity in the end more than anything, i personnaly put it at 30% for best results without seeing anything different on the image itself most of the time but more frames on the actual game. Been using Lossless Scaling since the early days on my 6800xt and 6950xt when upscaleing was limited to many fewer games. It's always works great as an open source option. Great for poor performing early access games and alpha's like Star Citizen
does anyone notice a considerable worse performance with the 3.0 aswell? about even up to -20% framerate and +5-10% frametime compared to 2.3, admittedly tested on a very old machine (OCd GTX 980Ti) but in RDR2 as well as in CP2077 I notice the same pattern. It's weird, almost feels like in need of immediate 3.0.1/2.13.1 patch.
Thats why you shoud cap fps and optimize settings to get hughest fps possible, but reality is to upgrade gpu yes. If you have nvidia rtx card, soon we can force reflex2 on any game and use with lossless scaling and that will reduce latency greatly hopefully.

If you know how to set this up perfectly, this thing is a godsend for emulation, where you won't be able to use upscaling or framegen.
Lossless scaling frame generation is absolutely amazing when used correctly, and keeps getting better with time. One of the best purchases I have ever made
Thank God I'm not sensitive to latency issues, I could literally play oh these type of games 25 frames and use lossless scaling and I'm fine.
This software is great for helping old games that are locked at 30fps to get them to 60fps, and they look so much better.
Lossless Scaling makes me play AAA Games at my Legion Go at 90-120 FPS constantly. Nice
Can you Name a few games? :o you like the Experience?
Hope you feel better bud. I've been sick for 3 weeks myself here in Upstate Ny. Thanks for putting the work in even though you're not feeling 100%. It's appreciated.
Lmao the maker of this is an absolute legend 😂
Got it a long time ago, but only recently got started on actually using it. Mainly for video playback, combats motion stutter and makes the image sharper, very nice :)
While it is understandable you were sick and could not make the video as good as usuall, Here are few corrections
1: Resolution slider does NOT upscale, It is not the resolution quality, It is the amount of optical data that the frame generation take as an input, This has nothing to do with resolution quality or upscaling. Setting it to 50-60% the majority of people will not even tell the difference at all.
tested it at 1600p and even at 30% it was fine, for 4k the same 30% can be more than fine while having significant performance increase.
For 1080p stick to 55-60%
2: Most of your Frame gen tests in this video were with GPU usage almost maxing out, that what i would call a graving mistake. a big one.
Keeping the GPU usage below 93% is extremely helpful for not only latency ( it can be greatly reduced by just keeping ur GPU usage below 93% ) but also frame pacing and frame graph will be flat giving you very consistent, smoother and better experience, A stutter free experience.
3: Instead of lowering your base fps to reduce gpu usage and sutters, You could have easily reduced the res slider even further to keep your high bas fps which results in high quality frame generation and lower latency while keeping your GPU usage below 93% for no latency penalty.
the video could be considered misleading and harming the application reputation by letting the viewers watch it in a misleading explanations,
But you are totally fine, You were testing while you were sick, We always appreciate how you always thrive to help and inform us about latest techs and hardware.
Thank you
Hello and thank you!
But, 1: as showed, the software says it upscales
2: i did lock the fps several times over the video and was recording as stated
3: that's a matter of taste I guess haha.
Big hug
@@AncientGameplays thank you
But why exactly 93%?
@kerkertrandov459 when your GPU is not reaching Max load you get stable smooth frames. Lower than that you might losing a decent amount of frames. Higher than that your risk stutters.
But it's fine to go lower such as 80-90% if you satisfied with the frame rates
I used the previous version for anime, locked the frame time to 24 fps in the video player, and boom 2x and much mich better! The anime looks so much smoother.
if the glitching head is fixed + less input latency it will be a huge mission completed for me
That's my only gripe with this app so far. If they manage to eradicate these issues then hot damn...
So how is it?
a comparsion between Lossles Scaling and AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 would be interesting.
Nah imagine setting the base framerate to 3 FPS locked, stacking up the framegen, and plugging it into LSD Dream Simulator.
I hope you start feeling better my Portuguese friend.
Going to have to check this out with my 7900XT. As long as the lag isn't bad, I couldn't really care about artifacts that I don't usually notice. Maybe I'm just blind or just don't care lol
12:57 "Anime4K" lmao 🤣
16:22 "Congratulations, your meme has been approved" ahh
Definitely getting this program, thanks for the video
Get well soon. I really appreciate your vids dude. Lossless Scaling is amazing and I don't understand how he/she/they do this. I think the big GPU makers could learn from these devs. Thanks.
for games like rdr2 and elden ring that need fullscreen for HDR you can use Borderless Gaming also from steam to force it to borderless without losing HDR.
Hi Fabio! The year is off to a good start. Looks like I won't have to buy a 5090 anymore, I'll stick to my 6800!
now my 4050 laptop will beat rtx 5090 desktop frfr
Change the title of this video to: "TURN YOUR RX 6600 TO A 5090".
I think you have typo there, shouldn't it be turn your rx 6400 to a 5090...
@di4mondpl4ys45 I suppose we will have continuation when we receive version 4.0. Then RX 570 4GB will become rtx 5090! 😅
I put the resolution scale to 25% (i play at 1440p) and havent noticed a drop in picture quality but my performance is much better. Its a win win
Does doing this affect latency?
Better than nvidia multi frame gen 🔥🔥🔥
im staying with my 3080 so this is huge for me
@@ELpeaceonearth Me too! It will be huge. There's also the new dlss, lets see how much better it is compared with the 3.8 version
Some suggestions:
Watch this working better than the new dlss
I just remembered I had this little software in my steam account. Bought it for like 2-3€ back in the day from sale and just used it for the first time a couple of days ago. And WOW I mean I'm using it with Beyond: Two Souls LSFG 2.3 (Highest my GTX 1070Ti supports) and it's just so much better! Ofc playing it with controller makes it harder to spot input latency and that game isn't usual game either in terms of moving and stuff :D
What I meant to say is that I just can't play 60fps anymore with mouse and keyboard and some games make me sick even with a controller. This particular game was playable before but Lossless Scaling made it sooo much better for me :)
Thanks for the video and hope you will get well soon!
Wow, the GPU hit is pretty massive. Helldivers 2 from 60fps down to 45fps. That's 33%.
He accidentally had the ls1 upscaler enabled which also impacts the frame rate
As stated in the pinned comment, I had upscaling enabled somehow LOL, being sick is no joke...
It's worth noting that right now on windows 10 the DXGI capture api which is on by default is not working correctly without MPO support due to a recent windows update, so WGC is the preferred method for now until windows decide to fix it
So Nvidia just implemented Lossless Scaling on their RTX 5000. Got it.
Yup
Hey Fabio, the resolution scale is only for the frame being processed which means it's for the motion clarity in the end more than anything, i personnaly put it at 30% for best results without seeing anything different on the image itself most of the time but more frames on the actual game. Thanks for the video !
YEAH! Lets go 1080p at 60fps emulation!
This little program is god sent for games that are hard cap at 60 and emulators. Also you can use it to diuble your frames on videos.
Why not test 20X so we can see how it looks 😅
I use this Lossless Scale on Sparking Zero and god, is damn good!
Good for CPU bottlenecks at 120Hz to 240 or 480. Anything below is "soapy" with too much input lag. Glad to see them improving the program 😃
I'm very sick too, you can sit for a long time, but I can't
Saw the title and actually laughed. We've already got MFG at home even before RTX 50, and this takes it to another level lmao. Honestly, with how "easy"*** this can be implemented, I don't see why AMD isn't chasing to do with FSR and AFMF.
*** I say easy, but I know there is nuance.
AFMF2 is basically just this but baked into the AMD driver.
@0:02 Bloomin Ainsley Harriot LOL
no update on steam yet for me
not yet?
It comes out at 1 PM tomorrow for me, Germany's time zone.
probably already cracked on cis rin ru lol
@@xfr0st585 shuutt 🤫
@@xfr0st585 nah i found out, the update is actually getting released today in like 5 hrs
i still get LSFG 2.3 not LSFG3 :( why?
Some body commented their GPU only supporting version 2.3.
At least that's what it seemed like they wrote grammatically.
Others commented that they won't get the update till tomorrow
@@cz5836 🤔 so my 3080 not supported
@@zsgamingtv I'm not saying I have the answer, just thought I'd mention what others were saying just in case it helps.
The update will come at 01:00 pm Europe time
The more fps you spend the more you get
I've seen people do miracles with this on N100s and similar. I should try getting it rolling in linux to squeeze the most out of my J4205.
Wait you can run this on Linux?
Well this makes Nvidia look like scammers after only releasing 2x/3x FG on their 50 series LOL
hardware FG > Software FG
better stability > more customisation
better frame times > fluctuant frame times
@@KamiKazeD True but it shows they could do alot more if they wanted to. A blend of hardware and software would go crazy
Update just dropped. Massive improvement in latency and ghosting reduction. Third person games benefit the most. The frame gen will still struggle against grass but the overall improvement is crazy.
are u using win11 24h2 ? because losles scaling app with win11 have dxgi issues ?
I am
@@AncientGameplaysthe DXGI issues were fixed a couple windows updates ago
Watching Fabio's videos with LS on UA-cam in 165fps. Siiiick :D
Haha
Basically new electricity, thanks Fabio!
Been using Lossless Scaling since the early days on my 6800xt and 6950xt when upscaleing was limited to many fewer games. It's always works great as an open source option. Great for poor performing early access games and alpha's like Star Citizen
Did you see the 9070xt leaks?
Yup
the best part is it just works
I love this app I highly recommend it
Hope you get well, I been sick also and its no fun lol! 🙏
The more frames you generate the more frames you get.
Every 60 seconds in africa, a minute passes.
Interesting to see the comparison between this and MFG when people get their hands on the 50 series cards.
MFG should be better, this is just software. But X2 and X3 works damn good
they are out of control, someone has to stop them :D
I'm so happy I bought this program having rx 6600, can wait patiently for GPUs at aceptable price
I pair lsfg 2x with nvidia reflex and I don't know if it is placebo but I feel it helps
Reflex 2 with lossless for non rtx 5000 cards will be great😊
does anyone notice a considerable worse performance with the 3.0 aswell? about even up to -20% framerate and +5-10% frametime compared to 2.3, admittedly tested on a very old machine (OCd GTX 980Ti) but in RDR2 as well as in CP2077 I notice the same pattern. It's weird, almost feels like in need of immediate 3.0.1/2.13.1 patch.
This news alone is better than all of CES 2025 news combined.
Banzai!!!
Remember, your base frame rate, without FG determines your latency of your input!
FG only smoothes the image in motion but not the latency
Thats why you shoud cap fps and optimize settings to get hughest fps possible, but reality is to upgrade gpu yes. If you have nvidia rtx card, soon we can force reflex2 on any game and use with lossless scaling and that will reduce latency greatly hopefully.
What a great id I already have a Rx 5700 XT I will change it with an RTX 2070 super and with reflex 2 and lossless scaling I am good to go thx@@TheEdmaster87
It does add latency though
@@TheEdmaster87 Thats completely wrong. Reflex needs to be implemented by the developers and will only be in Esports Titles like Valorant in the beginning.
U are the man who need a proper capture method for these tests.
Oki doki
me i use afmf 2 is the best 72 fps lock and = 144 fps
Best software purchase that's for sure. It's a really cool tool to use on 30fps capped games like Metal Wolf Chaos XD that i'm playing atm.
This guy is a fucking wizard, AMD needs to hire him.
All his tests are running at 4K with ls1 UPSCALING on. This mean the gpu is also sharpening the 4k image while using frame gen. This adds huge perf hit to the gpu, and adds latency.
Yes, and I mentioned that on the pinned comment
