Edit: it seems my brain went even further and I forgot to disable upscaling...my god! Sorry!
Guys, I was quite sick as I told you and my little brain didn't think when recording, that I should have tested (even if just for fun), the x10 and x20... But well, if the X4 mode was already delivering an "odd feeling", I guess the X10 and X20 modes would feel "magic" haha. Try it yourselves and let me know!

Hey, first of all thanks for all the effort on video. I noticed that some of the settings you are using might be the cause of those strange feelings. I assume u are using amd adaptive sync so u MUST change the vsync default setting to allow tearing. Also for the recording WGC capture method is better and since 24h2 update WGC mode is mostly better for me. Also u Said that afmf 2 is better but it doesnt feel as smooth as ls for me, is there something wrong with my setup please let me know. Also I would love to see a video about the usage of losless scaling with a 2. Gpu (maybe an iGpu of 7600). I guess they wrote u about it u didnt mention but I think it is the only issue with the Ls. Afmf 2 already uses the iGpu I guess.

The question is whether you can keep up with the image quality and low latency of the x4 created by Nvidia. Creating something like that is easy but performing as well as Nvidia is another story. Like how AMD's FSR and FG are inferior to Nvidia's DLSS and FG. Nvidia has said it's impossible to do what they do without the hardware, implying good quality like them. For example, a 2.0 pair is simulating 7.1 sound, of course it cannot sound as good as a real 7.1 sound system.

From my experience with lossless scaling you get latency, artifacts, ghosting etc
Maybe Nvidia could achieve better results because they will pair MFG with a lot of others technologies to lesser thoses defects, but i still have doubts about it, because for me this is exactly like upscaling, it will NEVER achieve the quality of a native resolution.
For me frame generation should be something to use in only one situation: to provide one more year of service for a very old GPU.

      Except not APPLES to APPLES.
It takes a lot of work to make NVidia's "x4 Frame Gen" work well. The RTX50 cards have newer hardware to make that more efficient as well as FRAME PACING hardware. Plus "Lossless Scaling" isn't designed to reduce ARTIFACTS in remotely the same way.
Do I agree with the misleading presentation of "RTX5070 = RTX4090" ?? absolutely.
Is NVidia's new DLSS impressive and will be increasingly useful in the right circumstances? YES.

Nvidia FG has lower latency THAT IS MOST IMPORTANT BCS it is embedded in the game then AI frame prediction. Btw my LG tv SL8000 from 2010 has FG 120(Hz), but it's adding latency as lossless scaling.
NVIDIA is also mixing apples to pears (frames with FG frame smoothing) and in DLSS 4 (upscaling + FG)

Bear in mind that the rtx 5000 series has significantly more AI tops for this than rtx 4000 and so on so that means frame gen is even smoother. MFG is yes like 4x mode lossless scaling, but it also combines reflex and now the new reflex 2 to reduce input lag. But nvidia promised to give this on all rtx cards latwe where you can get reflex forced via driver, so that means you can run lossless fg 3.x with reflex2 on any game and on any rtx gpu!

2500 usd for 6090, 48gb of ram DDR7X, yes AI needs a lot of ram to generate dlss5 with 8x mode... so yeah there is no way that 12gb 5070 is going to perform as a 4090 in DLSS3x mode vs 5070 DLSS4x mode and that is because 4090s massive 24GB and higher memory bandwidth capability, not to mention higher tensor cores and cuda cores... I don't know what nvidia is doing now by claiming this, but I look so much forward to actual tests using DLSS3x 4090 vs 5070 DLSS4x, but from now on, ever since the rtx 2000, AI generated frame is the future because we reached the limit of silicon or at least close to it... what we need is quantum GPUs to proceed in terms of raster rendering performance... or change to different die type

  • @hatty101
    @hatty101 15 днів тому +18

While it is understandable you were sick and could not make the video as good as usuall, Here are few corrections
1: Resolution slider does NOT upscale, It is not the resolution quality, It is the amount of optical data that the frame generation take as an input, This has nothing to do with resolution quality or upscaling. Setting it to 50-60% the majority of people will not even tell the difference at all.
tested it at 1600p and even at 30% it was fine, for 4k the same 30% can be more than fine while having significant performance increase.
    For 1080p stick to 55-60%
2: Most of your Frame gen tests in this video were with GPU usage almost maxing out, that what i would call a graving mistake. a big one.
Keeping the GPU usage below 93% is extremely helpful for not only latency ( it can be greatly reduced by just keeping ur GPU usage below 93% ) but also frame pacing and frame graph will be flat giving you very consistent, smoother and better experience, A stutter free experience.
3: Instead of lowering your base fps to reduce gpu usage and sutters, You could have easily reduced the res slider even further to keep your high bas fps which results in high quality frame generation and lower latency while keeping your GPU usage below 93% for no latency penalty.
the video could be considered misleading and harming the application reputation by letting the viewers watch it in a misleading explanations,
But you are totally fine, You were testing while you were sick, We always appreciate how you always thrive to help and inform us about latest techs and hardware.
    Thank you
