Thank you for posting this video. For those of us considering this purchase I find this video to be informative while also nice and succinct. I have decided to purchase one. It seems like the ultimate amp for a practical view in the current times. These things take pedals unbelievably well and have the absolute range of volume that makes it perfect for any situation. Sold my Fender Player series Stratocaster and my Orange CR120 2x12 to get it. I’ll never look back. Oh, and Jerry Garcia LOVED the Twin Reverb.
Yup. One of the reasons why I bought it was the range of volume. I've on a couple of times turned it loose. Not all the way up but just to the 5 watt setting and it sounds amazing. The tremolo and reverb sound fantastic too!
I grabbed this exact amp second hand and it’s awesome. I gig 100+ times yearly and it’s been 100% awesome. Very adaptable and easy to put in the mix for the sound engineer via DI/mic it. All good, nice and light and honestly the only way you can play a twin these days.
Like the OP, I also own a Mustang GT amp but mine is the 100 series. It’s a great amp and it would probably work as a gigging amp, although I purchased it for a at home practice amp. I own several amps. I own a Fender Supersonic 22 which is a superb tube amp and also considered Fenders secret somewhat low cost weapon. Now as for the Tonemaster series, I have researched the series since they arrived and waited for any bugs to be worked out. (Firmware, etc;) it’s now 4/2023 and I have finally purchased the Blonde/Oxblood Twin reverb. I’ve always wanted a twin reverb and this gets me close to a tube version. The light weight coupled with the quad core technology has brought me into the buyers circle finally. It takes pedals very well and with the lighter weight (I’m 58) were huge selling points for me. I’ve never been what you would label a tube purist so I’m willing to give this a spin around the block a couple times. When I was a kid I dreamed of this kind of tech and now that it has arrived I’m all in. I’ve always loved Fender Amps and this Tonemaster series is a superb addition to the Fender amp corral. My only personal complaint is that I would like to see a couple different speaker options available from the factory and also U.S. manufacturing of this amp instead of China. I’m willing to pay the extra money to see Corona U.S.A. On the back of the amp. Otherwise it’s a lovely series of amps that offers buyers a lot. Thanks for this informative video!
Thanks for watching! I'm not a huge tube guy either. My first amp by Ampeg was a tube, technology has come so far with these amps that for the price and weight (I'm going to be 52 this year) I couldn't pass it up. As time goes by and I get more pedals, I still love this thing. I'll turn that attenuator up a notch whenever the neighbor is out of town for the weekend and I love it even more!
I bought the Deluxe Black one a few moths ago. Its awesome honestly but I think im gonna grab this one soon.Jeepers I just bought a Vox AC15 and I havent even tried that yet haha. I need to calm down. Good video man!!
@@STVG71 That AC15 is heavier than I thought. Anyway I found one of these blonde Twins used!! Bought it Christmas Eve from the dude. It’s gonna take a while to get from West to East Coast Canada but she’s coming! Jan 11 it’s supposed to arrive!!
You've probably already figured this out, but with the firmware update, they're identical, with the exception of the Celestion in the blonde. Don't think it's better, just different sounding than the Jensen.
They are, aren't they? Not too sure about the hate these get but they sound good, they are light and are more than capable of taking what you throw at it.
Hey! Nice little demo. I’m really interested in buying Twin Reverb blonde. It’s always hard to tell across UA-cam, but how low does the volume go on the 1 watt setting and how do pedals go? Thanks
It's not too bad on 1 watt! Unfortunately I don't really have a good way to explain the sound levels but it's not gonna blow out the room and freak out roommates on 1 watt. And it takes pedals beautifully! Edit: Also should say it gets LOUD the other way around, works perfectly for jams/gigs when you crank the attenuator up. This is by far one of my favorite amps, highly suggest snagging one.
@@rob28781 I wouldn't say it's too loud, I mean it's not QUIET at just 1 watt but I wouldn't think it would cause issues in a house with noise. At least my roommates have never had a problem with it lol! If you're not set on the blonde version, there's also the black one, that one can be switched down to 0.2 watts at the lowest, 22 at the highest. It's got different speakers in it though so that's something to consider
OMG! I'm so sorry getting back to you. I don't get notifications when people reply. I'm agreeing with the poster below. With my tele at full volume the amp doesn't annoy my neighbor set to 5 (on 1 watt) and even 10 is OK with them. If I start raising the treble, the louder it goes. Pedal wise, I have a JHS Smiley Fuzz, JHS Distortion, JHS Chorus, Yamaha Flanger (about 20 years old see my other vid) and Boss DD-8 Delay and they are all fantastic! The only regret I have is this is way too loud for my uses so would the Reverb Deluxe have been a better fit? I don't know and don't care. This amp sounds great with my guitars. The reverb and tremolo on the amp are great.
@@STVG71 Don’t worry about it! I’ve come to the conclusion that the Deluxe Reverb will definitely suit my needs better. I’ve always been used to playing my Katana on the 0.5 watt setting and it’s great that the DR has 0.2 and 0.5 watt so I can still get that Fender breakup but on a digital amp. As great as the Twin is, and it bloody brilliant, I don’t think I’ll get the full benefits as a bedroom play. If I was gigging 100% I’d go with the Twin.
I am and I love it. Have to say that it is a LOT of amp and can put out the power. I have to keep it on 1 watt unless the neighbor is out of town. I have a video going over the Reverb and Tremolo sounds on my channel.
@james posterson I would agree. For only $100 more I pulled the trigger and went with the twin. It is extremely satisfying to crank this thing up when the neighbors are out of town.
Maybe up your production game a little? Too much time forcing viewers to look at your floor. (I want to see the amp settings, the guitar & guitarist’s fingers making the sounds.)
Thanks for the feedback. I'm a little lacking when it comes to my production value. I have no tripod so it is only my iPhone propped up and those got no views so I've always set it facing the floor. Let me know if you want me to do something specific and I'll make it happen :)
I personally didn’t mind it one bit. I came for the information and I got it. A heartfelt sincere impression of the amp from a purchaser. I’m sure as time passes the channel may become more savvy to production techniques but for the viewer considering this amp it was actually enjoyable to not have constant camera angle shifts. I particularly enjoyed the conversational style of commentation.
let’s get terminology straight if it doesn’t have tubes then it’s solid state but it could still be analog so it’s not digital versus tubes. It’s solid state versus tubes
Thanks for the comment. I'm not used to getting any replies to be honest. Is there something specific you want me to demo? I'm guessing you don't like my feet :(

Was about to buy the Vox but when I picked up this baby I was literally sold, am getting too old to lug tube amps around!
Hahahaha! Yeah, the 33 pounds seems really light for the amount of sound this thing can output

Still satisfied six months later or is there a new toy in the rotation?
Thanks for the reply! I'm still trying to figure out how to get notifications going. Let me know if you want to hear something specific.
I use the Strymon Sunset and get the authentic fuzz tone of the tube version. I’ve sold the tube amps 😊
