Fantastic insight from Richie - by far one of the very best artist interview you guys have done. Love hearing a pros pro break down the technical and artistic considerations he takes with his amp/set up. Fender really knocked it out of the park with this Amp. What a great a player - he’s definitely slipped under the radar for too long.

Have to say, I didn’t expect much from this amp. Then, I got to play one, and it was absolutely amazing. A/B with a mid-70s Twin, and the difference was unnoticeable! Biggest advantage - 33 lbs! A Twin that can be gigged!

He is speaking out of my soul. Simplicity, perfect sound and ease of use with directly seeing what you can do/are doing. That’s what a amp should be like. I played a tube Twin often in much earlier years, but…. for the normal use it was way too loud, too heavy and you have to take very good care to such a relatively fragile amp. So, but now the time has come and I will buy the TM Twin for me. 👍

OMG!!! I got this amp in 5 days ago.. And the tone is to die for!! The crunch at higher volume is probably the best i have ever heard!!. Sounds great man. I have an old vibroverb that sounds just as good but probably not quite as loud as i think it's only 40 watts. Plenty loud enough however for almost every situation. I am thinking about getting one of these because, as you say, it's great to have a backup. I'm actually getting so into space echo reverb right now, it's the only reverb i want to use lately but there is nothing like that TWANK sound one gets from an old Fender reverb, it's a classic sound also and can be pretty creamy dreamy.

It’s funny I know guys who have NEVER played a regular Twin Reverb but have said these don’t sound like a Twin Reverb. I’d guarantee that from what I know of their concert experiences they have not seen one being used live either. But yea, those new ones are a joke! Well I have and they have a Tone Master Deluxe I tried in Ocala, and it sounds fantastic. It’s not a Katana, or a Mustang, at all. I would love to have that Deluxe I played and save a little bit, but I just couldn’t use the volume. But I’ll bet you a bean burrito that you would really like it if you could try it.

Lol...if you have the captions on, when Richie starts playing at 10:20, the captions literally say “guitar shredding.” That’s so funny to me!

From 10:08, is that tone straight from the amp? Any post-effects or pedals?

Have anyone tried a Rat or other higher gain distortion pedal in front of these? I'm really curious how this will fare as a pedal platform for drive pedals.

Finally they used DSP technology to not copy a processed sound, but to process sound signal coming raw from a guitar and being processed to a certain topology. Clever afterall.

I have a Line6 Helix, it's an impressive tool but RK is right when he says that these digital devices have too many details that can be modified so that sometimes (I mean, VERY often) it's very difficult to understand how to deal with the tones..I hope that the decision to employ the DSP for very few things will keep more space to improve the overal tone.I'd rather prefer to have ONE amplifier to do ONE thing in the best possible way than 300 at an average level

@@dariocrocetta9026 it's a matter of time until they release a bassman and a super reverb. Just depends on overall reception by the public.

What I'd like to know; does the vibrato channel have that "bright cap" on the vibrato channel like the tube versions do? I HATE the bright cap - it makes my pedals sound weird, so I have to plug into the normal channel... but then I lose my reverb.

I am renting a TM twin and was loving it and about to buy it until tonight when I did some recording. I ABed the xlr out to an SM 57 and the XLR is muddy sounding and nothing like the 57 it is barley usable, also there is no real difference between position 1 and 2 on the IR switch. Do I have a malfunctioning unit, or did you or anyone here have similar experience or an idea of how to fix this?
and Fender - Please make a 12 pound Tonemaster Princeton 65 reverb with - That would be amazing!!!

Cool amps, both Twin and Deluxe RVB. I own both and sound, weight plus power soak make my life as a working musician who does practice at home a lot so much easier. And they take pedals really well. Downsides? Yes, unfortunately: Why on earth no reverb and vibrato for the normal channel as they introduced with some of the reissues? That would have been a subtle but so useful modernisation. And build quality, holy moly, Fender! My twin has glue stains all over the inside cabinet, it does not stand even on the floor, also the stands to tilt it back are uneven so tilted back the Twin wobbles, the bass control knob of the Normal Channel has some clearance. The footswitch of my Dlx Rvb broke down within days and Fender declares itself unable to send me a new one. But still and as mentioned before: Maybe not a collector's item, but workhorse amps for sure!

someone mentioned somewhere that there's no vibrato/reverb on the clean channel because these were developed in an age when a guitar and vocals might well both be running through the amp, so that the clean channel was for a mic, and then the other channel was for the guitar.
