  • This is a item either you love them or hate them
Very simple to cook and make
After you clean them ( very important that u clean them good !)
Marinate them overnight with Italian dressing to hide the smell while they cooking
    After 24 hours
    Rinse off marinate
    Recipe
5# chitterlings(make sure they are completely cleaned)
    1 cup chopped onions
    1 cup chopped celery( optional)
2 tablespoons kosher salt and pepper
    1/4 cup white vinegar
24 oz. bottle Italian dressing (for marinate)
    Add all ingredients to pot
Simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours on top of stove in pot
I enjoy eating mine with hot sauce and old school cornbread

Awe my daughter asked me every year to make Chitterlings. I sure think about her every holiday. I tell my husband we should make them in her memory. I lost all 3 of my children Nov 2019. Their memories live on. Thank you for this video!

Hey chief Jeffery, I haven’t signed on in a minute. Just wanted to wish you happy New Year. I love me some chittering, like I grew up on them myself. My oldest two children love them as well. Just can’t get them to cleaning. Now my son who the youngest have tried them several times still cannot get them down. We just laugh as he makes several attempts over years. I tried using everything to eliminate the smell I just can’t seem to be successful at. I will try your Italian dressing trick the next time I make some. Thanks for the tip. I hope you enjoy your Chitterlings they look nice and clean making me want some. Once again happy new year. God bless you.

Wow.....it's been many, many years since I've had chitterlings. My Mother died in 2008 and before she passed (during the holidays) she would fix them. I started helping her prepare them and it really showed me how much work she went through to get them prepared for the few of us who ate them. I absolutely loved them!!! My Mom would make sweet potatoes, cole slaw and cornbread to go with it. I'm not a cornbread fan with my chitlins' so I just had the sweet potatoes and cole slaw with them. And of course some hot sauce; not much though because I didn't want smothered in hot sauce.
Wow......video brought back memories of my Mother leaning over the sink and working her magic getting those chiltlins' ready. I had a few tears and a bunch of very happy memories seeing this video. Thank you.

GM chef, chitterlings look good. Haven't eaten any n years. I'm like you I can't understand why they are so high. I remember long ago you could buy a bucket (the red bucket) for little or nothing, even the hog maws are high, but now they are expensive. Well, everything the prices r up. Wish I was there to help enjoy those chitterlings. Be blessed. TYFS. Enjoy. #ossfjustshowsomekindness. 🕊😊❤

Chef Jeffrey My church just had a turkey dinner and it was my turn to cook the dinner. I relied on your Old school recipe of turkey stock and turkey gravy. Man everybody thought that I was the real deal. But the question I have for you is: You said that you can clean chitlins in your sleep. Does that mean that are pro when it comes to that RED bucket of chitlins. I try not to buy them if the store has something else but lately thats all in stock. What is your big secret for cleaning Red bucket chitlins?

Chile, lemme tell you...if ANYONE cooks chitlins properly like this AND offers you a plate...You betta eat em! The love that goes into making this dish is truth. And nowadays chitlin prices are as high a caviar. That 5lb bucket used to be $5...Now they $30+. Lawd have mercy, these look soooo good! In a pefect world, every city would have an all you can eat chitlin restaurant. Hot sauce is ready, wheres my plate??? Heading to Walmart now to get mines now. Lord, please let them still have some, and let this credit card be straight😂. Happy New Year yall, and continued good eating.
