- Ive missed you guys and this video has taken me two years to upload! So much has happened i will do a q&a so drop your questions below! Please be kind in the comments but I'm back! if your on a healing journey, overcoming, overcome or going through this is the channel for you subscribe and lets grow together. Also i need a new name so i can create a new title sequence and all the rest!
My friend married a very toxic human yesterday. I mentioned pre- marital counseling & even offered to pay for them for 3 sessions but she did not take me up on the offer. They did not even do the counseling at her church. Why are ppl so averse to therapy? Engaged couples do not even sit with each other to communicate what their expectations & standards for a wife or husband is. Then they are surprised when they are disappointed that the person they married are nowhere near their expectations. I wish more churches will not marry you until you have counseling. Maybe then we will have less divorces & more christ centre marriages.
Because churches are bias and will always blame BW when the marriage breaks down!

So, In Nigeria where I'm from and currently reside, whenever anyone travells by road to a new state, there is usually a welcome signboard saying "Welcome to Abuja" but of all 36 states, Lagos is the only state that has a welcome sign that says "This is Lagos" and that is because if you can make it here, go through the stress and all, you can make it in anywhere in the world. and I think your story is similar to Lagos.
I would like to suggest a new name for your chanel - "This Is Cassie" because it embodies everything you currently overcame and willing to share

Thank you so much for being honest, vulnerable and transparent you did not need to share all of this with us. As someone who has ADHD and dyspraxia and got my official ADHD diagnosis in the last year at 30 years old I totally relate to everything you are saying.
RSD (rejection sensitive dysphoria) as part of ADHD is often not talked about enough, we as people with ADHD are often more sensitive to criticism or feelings of rejections cause through our lives with our ADHD we are more likely to experienced criticism I think I read something like 12 times as much then people without ADHD. We tend to be people pleaser more and because of that fear of rejection and our sensitivities it can become a self fulfilling prophecy.
I can imagine then being with someone who is neurodivergent but who had many different characteristics and I am sure also trying to learn about himself it must of been hard balancing different personalities and emotions. Think it’s so important in any relationship to continue to learn about ourselves like you were saying I know I am constantly growing and evolving.
I am so grateful for my recent ADHD a diagnosis cause it’s helped me learnt so much about my brain and myself. I would recommend in any relationship/marriage not only doing counselling together but also separately taking the time to learn yourself and why you do the things you do and where they come from. Look forward to more of your videos.
When `I grow up I wanna be like Cass, Strong, Brave and Resilient. You are so amazing, thank you for sharing your story. Listening to you gives me hope and courage to keep pushing and fighting through my toughest fight thus far ❣

I can only begin to imagine what you've been feeling, I too feel like God has had me in a space of having to look at myself, take accountability aswell get to no me. When you experience traumatic times it becomes easy to identify as them, but Sis that is not who God called you to be. None of us are perfect, we will fail and fall several times over, all that matters is you get back up.

I think the point about trying to be perfect that you made is something I’m trying to consciously not do but I can’t lie it’s hard not to want everything to be perfect when you are a perfectionist. However, I’m learning to just do what I can, be genuine and just be free Because I know God sees my heart and my intentions even if the result doesn’t pan out how I want
Thank you I definitely will talk about some things I think you should ask during dating. I think with being a perfectionist God always needs something to work with and constant trying to be perfect takes away from allowing God to be God we can strive for it but in life we won’t always get it right and that’s ok!

We in the Black Community needs to start accessing and promoting the right interventions such as Therapy in a timely manner. Especially we parents of adult children. Our prayers should be backed with works. Even the Bible says so.
