Fascinating video! A couple of questions: Where are you finding potential new pilots? Do you perform actual engine-out routines, or do you throttle back the "bad" engine.
Peter - Thank you for your comment. Potential new pilots have varied backgrounds, but the most helpful experience comes from those who have a structured background, crew coordination, larger aircraft and tailwheel experience. Of course other warbird experience, C-45, C-47 or T-6 is very useful - but rare! Our "engine-out" scenarios are at lower power settings to simulate 'feather', while keeping the maneuver safe.
@@allenbenzing2568 Tnx for your response. I flew on FiFi on June 11, 2016 when she was visiting Nashua, NH. It was a thrilling experience and well worth the $$ (flight observer seat). I hope to see/fly in Doc some day as well - but so far, Doc doesn't seem to like the northeast. Take care, and keep that beautiful bird flying and safe.
