Man i wish 7 inches was still king! You are right, ppl be wanting that 12 nowadays. 😂
You are hilarious
It's not the size of the screen that matters, It's how you view it!
I heard only 3 or 4 inches is usable at any given time
That’s what she said
Here in Eastern Europe we have 2.8 liter turbo diesel Land Cruiser Prado, economical and powerful.
the price is crazy for what you're getting cloth seats, infotainment take 7-10k off then okay
That’s called the 4Runner
+ no power lift gate... all that to make the land cruiser trim the "better" deal
I think the price is great
@@robinjardiniano5598I hate power lift gates. I’d pay to delete that option on the nicer trims.
@@emelinowhich is an upgrade compared to this and it’s cheaper
love that boxy shape. Just like the original models
Joe, I love the Toyota Land Cruiser 1958 Edition & I think this is the Apostle to the Off-road SUV's.
I’m so glad that I could share it with you Luis
@@RaitisRides Thank you so much.
Off-road test? Damn! You’re bold Raiti!
I’m not messing around
I really like the base model with manual controls, cloth seats etc. But for the price it seems a bit crazy. If it started at say $45,000 it would be good. But cloth seats and 7 inch display at $55,000? That's luxury car prices. I know in the past you paid more for the extra build quality and reliability, but this is the Prado. Is it really worth that much more?
Probably have it the rest of ur life
Love the retro "vibe" design of the Land Cruiser, especially that boxy shape. I think this time I prefer this over the 4Runner.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Omar
one thing I love about Raiti's Rides is that I feel as if he's taking us on a tour. yes he reviews the cars but my gosh!! the sceneries, the views, the mountains... so amazing. really appreciate that.
The perfect vehicle to come back from somewhere.
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍
Make it a straight 6 with a stick shift and I’ll buy it!
Hey Raiti, How fast were you driving on the trail from the off-road course to the pavement that starts around the 18 minute mark? Thanks!
For a 4 banger, that thing is fast. Darn smooth off road as well.
Nice, Mr and Mrs Raiti.
Great review. love the off roading
Toyota did it again ..
Nice boxy design ...
4runner is awesome but I'm going for the CRUISER
You are not the first to say that
Yeah u right 👍🏾..lots of them to choose from 😁
the majority of the ladcruisers existence has not been with a v8
@@providentpathfinders219 🤷🏾♂️..well that’s because not too much body’s is doing V8’s anymore man..we got to get with the program…even a lot of the big 3️⃣’s doing it now since the Legendary Toyota starts setting the trend 😁
How durable will that engine be in the long run? No V8 or even a 6 for $60k+ after taxes/fees?
In Europe on the Land cruiser and the hilux we never had v8 or V6 and they did 500k km without any problem
Exterior design checks all the marks. Too much hard plastics in the interior as in many Toyota products but viewing this as a utility vehicle I can tolerate that.
Great review as always.
For the Land Cruiser badge, this is a great price. AWD will be the main difference over the 4Runner. Will be interesting to compare options and pricing for the 2025 Limited and capstone trim levels of the 4Runner’s against this trim Land Cruiser.
Raitis A.I doing a great job responding to everyone
It is me not AI
@@RaitisRidessomething AI would say
Love it when you rep Donnie Baseball! 🤘🤘 Great review as always, Joe.
Heck yeah man! Thanks for tuning in!
Awsome job 👍
Thanks man!
“Peanut butter and jelly is what won WWII for the allies.” That random comment got me. 🤣
absolutely outrageous price for what your getting
Thank-you for the review Joe. I understand making the sacrifice of creature comforts such as upgraded materials for the interior, moonroof, manual adjusting seats, smaller screens for a true offload capable vehicle like this,. However, at 56K starting price would it be too much to ask from Toyota to at least include the option for the sway bar disconnect and forward facing camera with this trim?
Here in the Middle East, this vehicle is called the Toyota Prado, and it was used for this model, but unfortunately, an important feature was lost, which is the 6-cylinder engine with a volume of 4000 cc, as well as the third-row seats, the roof rack, and the suspended rear spare tire... I think it will be introduced in the upcoming models of this version. ..Thank you❤❤
Middle East version will coming with 7 seats
Love the seats, storage, and visibility. As a base model, it seems the msrp is too high, though.
I’m not a V6/8 purist, I think hybrid technology has advanced far enough to where it belongs in the legendary Land Cruiser. As the gas prices go higher and higher, we’ll be thankful for the fuel efficiency and same off road capability. Will I miss the startup roar, yes. But my wallet will thank me.
I love his random reference to different brand of cookies and candies.
"David comments on every single video." Yessir, I try to do just that.
The goat!
You are the man! Thanks for having my back!
@@dr.derekrobinson1920heck yeah
David cameo when
Love the look of it. I’d buy this for 40k. Feels way overpriced.
Have you seen -prices of SUVs lately?
I hope you can get a top line version of this vehicle to try out, for the base version I was really impressed 😀
I will be getting that one for you!
Toyota hasn't missed recently, the new corolla, camry, prius especially, 4runner and now this. #1 brand
(and rip that v8)
How many Etch A Sketch's can fit in the seat back pockets?
Now that is a good question!
The Toyota FJ cruiser with an auto trans and a locking rear diff was 30k back in 2008. Add the hybrid power train and adjust for inflation and 57k is probably reasonable.
That white color really makes it look like your standard UN / Peacekeeper SUV.
Does the 1958 use different or cheaper interior materials than the Landcruiser? From this video it sounds like it does (dash, doors, etc.)
Long after that's gone my 69FJ40 land cruiser will still be around
The legend has returned also joe how they didn’t put a V6 TWIN TURBO in the land cruiser
lmao this isn’t the legend. Toyota pulled a fast one on us by not throwing the “Prado” name behind it
I wish the First Edition wasn’t $75k as it is the trims want the most. I like the round headlights, but really enjoyed driving in Honolulu in my friend’s Macan S with Ventilated Seats.
I wonder if I can put a 1958 grille and headlights on a Land Cruiser trim 🤔
Where is this trail? I want to take my FE
Somewhere near San Diego.
@@J.Young808 No WAYYYYY...
How does it compare to a Bronco outer banks with the 2,7
Toyota did amazing with getting in touch with the 1958 edition.
Is the wind noise significantly less than a hard top wrangler ? That will make or break it for me.
Oh yes it is!
I love it. I know the aftermarket will be nice
You are so very right about that Korey.
Hey Joe, how are you doing? You’re always replace the engine with a V-8 from the tundra I’ll put a V6. lol 😝
Raiti’s I luv e’m kinda reminds me of my GX 😁
Good call!
@@RaitisRides man am not paying no attention to none of these competitors…am from the Islands but living in the US now…& Toyota ain’t the one to be played with…even though I luv my Lexus’s they always take their time to perfection not in a rush like some of these governmental goons..they’re for the people’s & this is y I stuck with them…so they can keep the big 3️⃣😂
never has a door panel had a more lively introduction😂
Whens the z71 traverse
why are there huge price verations depending on coutry ?
it is a japanese car exported all over
check the prices in the uk it is INSANE 80-90k range
Lol…As always buddy…love the food for thought side comments!! Keep up the great work!!✊🏽
I’m so glad that I can share it all with you!
Did you all get that rattlesnake fan to 'hit that subscribe button' ?
Seriously though; that is scary stuff! Great save, Steven!
Steven came in clutch!
@RaitisRides I am noticing some injury to your right hand middle finger. Hope everything is alright!
I just hate how Toyota pulled a fast one on us trying to convince us that this is a true 300 series Land Cruiser when it’s really a 250 series Prado
It's just a successor to the FJ Cruiser
True LC fans know it’s a LC Prado
@@Aldeeezzy exactly but i’m trying to figure out why Toyota isn’t marketing it as such? because the normies out there are gonna buy it and swear it’s the official LC when it’s not lol
@@JokerG16 Maybe it’s because they never used the name Prado over here and think we’ll get confused 🤷
They couldn’t justify the price in Toyota trim so if you want the 300 series, it’s sold here as the Gx550
i prefer the newer square headlights
Is a Mercury Grand Marquis better than a Ford Crown Vic? 😅
Yes it is
As a Merc owner... Yes
@@OneProN00B as a 2011 Grand Mercury owner, I’m not gonna pretend that they’re not 99% the same car 😂
yes but not better than a lincoln towncar lol
Yes. Buy one if you can.
I like the LandCruiser, but I prefer the 4Runner. Im planing on buying a new Tacoma TRD PRO or 4Runner TRD PRO this summer
That powertrain sounds like like a cross between a three cylinder diesel and a sewing machine
That is a great analogy!
3:38 I wish there was an options to have the fenders painted. Not everyone will be taking this off-roading.
It's hard to tell which is better. I guess I need to test drive both 4x4's to decide which is better.
That would be the best way to do it
Raiti mentions the Corolla as legendary but forgets the 4Runner. Come on Raiti. Also, the 1958 Land Cruiser= a stripped-down Lexus GX550!
Not really because the GX 550 is a 3.5 V6TT.
Hey bud really appreciate the jaguar review
Thanks for saying that
1st to like and comment. Cool review
You are the man James
Non-hybrid 4Runner for me, or the Lexus GX if I hit the lottery. Owning a Land Cruiser was a bucket list thing for me, but not anymore - the last 300-series Land Cruiser that sold in the US, particularly the special edition in white with the gold wheels and roof rack is my holy grail... but between the cost and the gas it's only for people with money to waste...
Love this 1958 edition. But the price though. Should have been no more than 49k after delivery.
Joe reviews vehicles like it was meant to be.
That really means the world Mickey!
Where in SD is this trail?
Voght Ranch
@@RaitisRides Thanks man. Looks like its a private place from the map
Factory 33"s? I thought only the GX550 Overtrail had 33's?
Should be around 35 grand but paying for that name! So cool but DAMN!
Saw the first one in New England other day. Have not driven one yet. I’ll keep my 4runner. 😅 and my tacoma. Don’t have to swap batteries in ten years. Ha. And still more envious of the 70 year old that I saw with a last gen Land Cruiser.
Sounds like a plan.
That's both incredible and sad how powerful the I4 is but lacks that crossplane NA V8 growl.
I love my FJ Cruiser.
Rumor is they co-designed the new Land Cruiser with Lego
Without the roof rack looks like an old International Scout
Do you like the look?
@@RaitisRides 99 times out of a hundred I would say that the roof racks are an interesting finishing touch on the look of a SUV and would want them, this is the exception. It looks really good without them, just a clean look.
Is it coming to the us
Yes Jimmy
Which 4runner even competes with the base land cruiser? The trd pro is going to have an msrp of around 70k...
Most probably the Off-road trim.
Your first comment should be the crazy price and dealer markups…..nonstarter for me
i4 for landcruiser is actually crazy.
Well this 250-series LC is the oversea Prado and Prados mostly came with 4 cylinders.
Wait until it’s ice only 😂
Huh since the J40 we have had 4 cyl both petrol and diesel engines.. I have no issues with the 4 cyl. The engine is facing the correct way, proper off road drivetrain and looks perfect inside and out. If you really care, go get the GX for the 6 cyl..
I'd buy it for the looks.
It is good looking for sure!
But! but! This is what the dudebros want, right?!
Nice truck unfair price. Never knew I needed to hear about pbj and steroids in a car review until today. Excellent video!
honestly i like the simplicity of this. i have 3 dogs who shed and track dirt. i want an interior i dont have to be precious with. wish the price was a lower but i wish the price was lower for a lot of things lol.
It would be great to get one without carpet at all.
I love the Toyota Landcruiser... But damn it had to be $55K. That's nuts.
How many percent the people drive off?
HUH?
I hope these don’t sell well….these prices are insane for what you get!! 1958 edition my ass….just call it the BASE model lmaooo ridiculous
Haha that’s what I said price is insane
couldn't agree with you guys more, I don't know how the hell people are still buying new paying over $1,000 a month and over $500 for insurance. even if I could afford it I would no way in hell pay that price for what I'm getting.
Getting 1958 in a month- what color looks best in person Joe???
I love the sand color
@@RaitisRides at this time you can't get a 1958 trim in sand color (black, white, and grey only with 1958 trim)
Joe, I want to say Toyota Land Cruiser is literally die hard at hot climate.
As always Awesome, Joe.
I think you hit the nail on the head Jack
You’re in San Diego and you don’t mention Tony Gwynn? Shame
After watching the Throttle House video my opinion of the new Land Cruiser has changed for the better.
That is great to hear!
Crazy price.
Thanks for the review. Another great Toyota. I have a 09 FJ, which is awesome. Like the size of the Land Cruiser.
You are so very welcome David!
Honestly if it's anything like the Sequioa, you won't even miss the v8 in The New Land Cruiser
I think that is a great point!
The Toyota situation with the 4Runner and the Land Cruiser 1958 seems to be the same than Hyundai with the Palisade and the new Santa Fe!
and it got even more complicated with the GX that had the bigger engine
Toyota has lost their minds with pricing. I may look for a used Fj cruiser...... This same land cruiser is at my local Toyota for $85k 😂
Nice looking and you looked like you were having fun driving it. However….HOWEVER…Toyota needs to wake up and be more realistic on the price if they want to sell them…
Nice vehicle but I just can’t seeing people buying this over a 4Runner for that price. Am I missing something ?.
The 1958 model starts at $72K in 🇨🇦
Come on man zonk those street tires!
I totally missed it and don't know how.
LC looks nice but man oh man … didn’t like how that 4 banger turbo sounded coming up and over that hill.. I’m not convinced on this setup and toyo trying to pass it for something that was truly unique in every sense of the word.. This doesn’t seem like toyota moved forward with the LC😢.. shame
I guess the big star is the price tag.
