- In this video you will see the advantage of having a rolling mill when making damascus steel. You'll see just a small scrap of steel turned into a usable piece of steel. I hope you find it informative.
Plzz make more videos 😁😁
Great to see you posting back on UA-cam!
Good work Josh.
I wonder if you could drop the annoying loud music. I don't care for the scratchy music so I mute the video but then you come along and start talking.
I enjoy metal working and you are doing some cool stuff but I don't understand why it is so important for you to blast my ears with loud music. If I wanted to listen to music I would just tune in to a radio station.
Thanks for the rolling mill demonstration.
So cool to watch you work & see dad's big green monster power hammer behind you. Glad you got it up and running! You're a stud dude!
Great video and insight! All your videos are awesome!
Would be super cool if you did a more independent video about the rolling mill, it would a really cool project to make my own!
i built/am building my own rolling mill atm, it dosent have a thickness guage though its just a 20 ton press jack that i jack down a jack or 2 a pass(each jack is about 1/3 of a mm), then 2 roller plates that fit in where the press plates used to go and a drill running into a 45 tooth worm drive i dont have a lathe (or want to try and harden cylinders) so i got local metal shop to make the rollers for me, 12cm of mine is flat then other half has a 5 cm wide grove sloping to 2.5mm deep next to a 2mm high 4mm wide v ridge in middle
other one is a 4cm wide groove thats 2mm deep on one side and wheel diameter on other with the top wheel only having a 2mm high 3mm wide at base ridge 8mm from edge so i can roll in basic blade bevel & fullers on various sword styles easily
i live in suburbia so i try to keep hammering to a minimum, its nice and quite as well as being fast, although maybe my gearing is to high mine seems to turn a lot slower than most, u could probably use a 30 tooth gear and drill would have no problem, its something i plan to test some time, but so far its been pretty nice, i had to modify drill to have its forwards & back on a much larger lever and the trigger i hooked up to a foot pedal just with a few pullys some rope spring ect, some day ill pull drill appart and extend trigger wires put trigger under pedal just so its a bit less boddgy/its my next priority thing to fix up now its actually running then wiring forward back onto a switch or another foot pedal, then the gearing maybe :P
but even only 1/2 finished, its great
Nice vid! Where can you get a new rolling mill nowadays?
Great video. Now I need a rolling mill....lol
Would love to see you build the folder with your piece of Damascus.
That's awesome 👍 love the videos keep them coming
Great video!!
I recently purchased a rolling mill from a guy in Apache Oklahoma. It has been a game changer. Love it
Lol. Did not realize i was on my wifes profile. Jason Wilson
Does the guy make them or was it just the one? We want one too!
I love these videos man, keep up the great work!
Josh, great video - keep up the quality work! I’d love to see a dedicated video on that rolling mill with some close-up pictures of the motor transmission/gearbox in some rough sizes !
Awesome work and thanks for sharing. So glad I found y'all on Instagram!
awesome! I'd love to see some more details about the roller mill. I'm hoping to build one similar

Hey all. Looking to purchase a rolling mill for my San mai and damascus. Can anyone make some recommendations? I'm new to them and haven't had any luck finding anything yet. Thanks!
