Dillon Vantuyl grunge was just a scene if anything. I met Mark Arm from Mudhoney (the guy known for coining the term), he hates the term too. honestly a lot of these bands are just punk and noise rock. if Jesus Lizard was from seattle everyone would call them grunge, same for Pissed Jeans.
pure punk was fecal matter and pure punk lyrics - underrated songs and brilliant band ...god hes always just been brilliant even at the age i am now x) .. maybe if he could have kept on with songs like this through he evolution to and through nirvana he would have felt better for it in his career before its untimely end ... who knows ..... x(.......................... ^^
Nirvana has always been punk rock. If you don't think so yr understanding of punk is too narrow. Sex Pistols are very different than the Ramones who are very different to Flipper who are not that similar to Black Flag, to Fugazi and on and on

Grunge comes from Punk. Grunge is punk, metal, 60's and 70's rock, melodies etc. There are lots of faces to grunge. People here debate about whether this is grunge or not. Its Punk, grunge, alternative etc. It is ALL of it.
