Dude, I usually comment with all kinds of goofy stuff, but on a serious note, I do not know why you don’t have more subscribers. Your videos are put together so well and the points you make during the videos are totally valid. You have a lot of knowledge when it comes to all different kinds of, ATVs and the knowledge is based on actual riding experience. Anyway, keep up the good work, and I will continue with my goofy comments on the next video!
Lol! Well I appreciate every subscriber we do have, I've always considered it a quality over quantity type of audience! As long as we can help keep folks interested in ATVs I'm happy! Thanks brother! Always good to know some folks appreciate the work!
I think what makes me like the channel so much, is they have a high level of professionalism, and well edited videos, but they aren’t so far as to mince shortcomings of the models they review. Other big channels the reviews almost look more like long drawn out advertisements.
I feel like if Yamaha made the Grizzly into an 850 or 1000 V twin machine it would really give Can Am a run for the money quality wise. I’m sure it would be priced similarly but I would be more willing to spend it on a Yamaha than any other brand. Their quality is just so consistent and very hard to beat.
I’m on my 3rd Can-Am atv. I am a die hard Can-Am fan but I would instantly switch to Yamaha if they offered a vtwin mud ready atv. We’ve all been saying this for years but the big 3 just don’t listen to their customers.
@@destinhook3826 I honestly don't think Yamaha asses the market as big enough to invest the resources (as crappy as that sounds).. Both Polaris and CanAm maximize their investment with several models 850/1000 Mud Specific, S models, 2-ups and Renegades. I think Yamaha would have to compete in all of those markets for it to be economically feasible. Not to mention CFMOTO undercutting all of them in price. I'm sure they'd sell a ton in year one.. But typically they want to see high returns on long running models. The 850/1000cc market is surprisingly small compared to mid displacement sales.. I'm not saying I don't want to see it, I just think that's the business perspective. Also increasingly strict emissions regulations that have the potential to threaten long term viability of pretty much all powersports. but at the end of day, it's a lot of competition for a fairly small piece of the larger pie.. That sucks to say as an ATV enthusiast...
I have a 2003 or 04 kodiak limited 400, done a valve lash adjustment thats been all, probably needs a carborator job, but still runs good!! Need to do front wheel bearings still original, seen a few rolls but that old plastic is tough! Can't even tell its been rolled over! Beast of a quad! Never has died on me or broke on me! It goes out west in the mountains ect!
I have a 2021 Grizzly XTR that my dad gave me and I absolutely love it. The ride quality is easily one of the best. A lot of comments are saying that Yamaha needs to start sporting the 800+ Vtwin engines, but I don’t think so. Their direct competitors would be the Suzuki Kingquad or the Honda Foremans. What Yamaha should do to modernize their segments is include phone chargers and wireless charging in the center cubbie, like the Can-Am, as well as design the center cubbie not to get too hot. Besides that, I love my Yamaha. Absolutely great machine.
I used a lot of your videos on making my choice to by an atv this year, I ended up going with a used 21 Kodiak 450, I customized it to my liking and I absolutely love it. I’d love to be able to throw a leg over a grizzly 700 some day but for now I’m loving the Kodiak running around my grandads farm in western Maryland. Thanks for keeping us updated on this info!
I sold my 2009 Grizzly 550 EPS years back. Took it all over Colorado trails and had a blast every time. Never had any problems. I'd get a Kodiak 700 EPS if I was in the market.
Its because if your 2019 Video review on Yamahas new Grizzly is why i went out and ordered my 2020 700 SE and then got my wife the 21 700, my son the 2022 90 and because of your knowledge and education behind and HRs you guys have on the RMAX i just bought a new 2022 in 2023 RSPEC 1000, i wanted the Sport but i got mine for 18,8 out the door so the money i saved justified my purchase, because of your guys amazing videos we are a true blue yamaha family and your videos and experiences made my purchase completely justified!!! Thank you so much for all you guys do for us ATV enthusiasts!!! Keep up the great work, it doesnt go un noticed, and thanks for your love for the Grizzly, otherwise i wouldnt have the machines i do today!!
Oh man that's awesome! I'm so glad the videos were helpful, thanks for the kind words brother! I love hearing about the whole family having their own machines to ride, so much more interesting for the kiddos that way!!
Just bought a pair of 2023 Kodiak 700 SE's a couple days ago for riding the trails of Colorado. My wife has never piloted a motorcycle of any kind so, I felt the Grizzly would be a little much. The Kodiaks are no slouch and I'm a little concerned that my wife may still be intimidated by the power. Overall, I think we'll be really happy with them as a mountain trail and camping platform.
I like the fact they dont change them that much. My 2021 xtr is almost identical to a 2024, and I love that. It is weird they have gps for waverunners though, and not for ATVs. Easier to gets lost in the woods than in the water.
They do have the Yamaha Adventure Pro as a GPS option. Not sure why they don't advertise it as much anymore but it does have a connectability to the XTRs or at least it did... It is kinda nice to know your machine is current!
I have a 2007 Grizzly 700 SE model, still on the original belt, and I plow snow with this ATV all winter long. Truly excellent machines, I just cannot recommend them enough, the people must know and understand this lol. I also agree with you about the Zilla tires that come standard with the XTR model. I believe a good all-purpose tire in the 25-26 inch range would be better suited for the ordinary user. Nice review.
Hi , Id like your opinion on your favorite all terrain tire for the grizzly/ kodiak 700. Also what sizes would you recommend? Use will be mainly dirt roads, some mud, hunting, yardwork. Dont want anything too heavy either. I need to get a set asap...Give us your top 2-3 picks, Im sure you've tried many different brands... thanks for the great content and honest reviews!
Top pick ITP Terracross, budget pick Tusk Terraforms.. My rule of thumb is no heavier than 6ply rated, no taller than 26" and preferably directional tread patterns.. I don't like taller than 26 because you lose stability, I don't like fronts wider than 8-9" because you lose handling.. We've tried a lot yes, but there's certainly more we haven't tried which I gave you my measurement preferences... Bigger heavier tires will take more from the Kodiak than they provide in my opinion 👌
Yesterday I got my '23 Grizzly SE....the dealer had been sitting on like 7 of them since last fall so they had it discounted to $10,600 so I'm really pleased getting it for that price....can't wait to hit the trails now!
I live in the Northeast and the trails i ride are all rocky and i run mud tires with great success and would not change my tire setup for a bighorn or similar tire! I do ride a much lower powered atv (2000 Suzuki king quad 300 4x4) my tire combo is 26x12-12 Rear GBC GATORS Tires and 25x8-11 AMS SWAMP FOX FRONT TIRES ,this combo rides smoothly on hard pack trails and claws through mud and rocky trails like a mountain Goat!
Heck yeah! Like I mentioned, everyone has their own preference for tires.. I think the Zillas are a good choice for a lot of folks, I just like smaller tires for a sportier feel
Not much to worry about when breaking in a Yamaha.. I do a couple heat cycles then just ride like normal and do the first oil change at 20 hrs.. After that I change oil every 40-50hrs which for me is about once a year.. Just make sure your dealer oils the air filter.. They come dry from the factory
Yamaha has a relationship with GBC so that could certainly work.. My only issue with that is that those are both 8ply tires so they're pretty heavy. I think the logical choice is the OG 4ply Bighorns, my personal preference is ITP's Terracross.
Might be an unpopular pick but I wish there was a 2up Japanese offering. Wanting to get into a new quad in the next couple years but now I got a little one of my own and want him to be out with me. Probably won't be able to rip as hard as a standard machine but I think it's worth the tradeoff
Rode fourtrax 250s and ranchers my whole life and yes I’m old. Bought a grizzly SE a few weeks ago and I really like it. It’s a much “different” riding experience but all around I’d agree with it being a great trail quad.
@@DirtObseXXion Being a mechanic for many years my experiences with CVTs has not been great. I understand this is a whole diff ball game but the ten year warranty gives me a good vibes 😎
Yep, I get that! Big difference in the Centrifugal clutch versus the flyweight in terms of reliability I think.. Yamaha and Suzuki both use the oil bathed system and seem to be pretty dang bulletproof, but only Yamaha backs it up with the warranty.
just a question how much did you guys pay for your 2022 Grizzly XT-R out the door with taxes and other fees? I want to compare to the prices of used models, just to calculate deapreciation.
How are these machines in the cold? Do they start alright? I do alot of ice fishing and so need it to start in the cold. Kodiak 700 or grizzly 700? Mainly used at camp and on ice
They're fuel injected now, so cold starting isn't an issue that I know of.. Ive heard CanAms can be temperamental in the cold.. But I've never heard that about Yamaha
@DirtObseXXion had a fuel injected polaris sportsman that would not start in the cold. After being a polaris fan for years im thinking of making the switch
Yeah for some folks that seems a bit weird. I don't use 4x4 let alone lock in the diff very often. I'd be cool with a 2wd model like the new HD5 has for the sake of more affordability. I think the intended market for those machines is folks who just use them moving around their property checking fences and that kind of thing.
@@DirtObseXXion Thanks for the reply, your channel is excellent for doing so! I understand the 'intended market' is selling the '4wd goes anywhere' mantra to ignorant buyers, so that down the line they realize they need to 'upgrade' to a higher end model that has a locker, or shell out for aftermarket differential models or modifications. I'm not knocking 3WD as it can obviously get you out of places 2WD can't, especially with front brake finesse. However my argument is that this is a conscious choice by the manufacturer to sell you a product that doesn't fulfill it's obligation. These are off road vehicles, not on road trucks or SUV's. If basic 4wd models from the 80's and 90's can have front diff locks, there's no reason beyond greed that it can't be standardized as a selling point now. Doesn't have to be something fancy and electronic, Kawasaki had the simple 'yellow lever' on it's Brute Force models for 20+ years now.
Got to love a Grizz....I really can't say much as they are definitely a great trail machine. I only wish they would have added some features to the Kodiak to focus even more on utility/hunting. An all camo model with 12" wheels and a more all-terrain tire would be nice. Along with more utility features or even available accessories. The all camo Grizz is nice but I don't like 14" Zillas for my hunting machine and I don't need top end. It is the reason I switched from a Grizz to the Can-Am HD7 Hunting model. So many more features that I can use and much cheaper. I still won't be selling the Grizz though.....
That's really good feedback! I agree about the tires for sure and features/accessories are definitely going to be important to hunters. It might take some time for Yamaha to respond to the HD7 but the Yamaha's have been at the top of the mountain so long, maybe a little competition will spark some competitive considerations from the Blu Cru
@@justinmochi7323 Oh hell, I've been waiting on Yamaha since 2008 when I bought my first Grizz. At this rate, I'll be too old and I'll be driving one of those crazy things with a steering wheel and racing to the buffet at 430 in the afternoon to get the specials!
I enjoy riding those Grizzly 700's very much, and every one that comes into the shop gets a good ride and my respect. For the same money I own a 650 and a 750 Brute Force, a matching pair of Yamaha dx225 three wheelers, and a a new storage shed. Just my personal choice on where the money from my second job goes. When it comes to tires, I just gave a customer a lesson on that this morning when he came in to replace two 14 inch tires before a long trip. Of course he asked about the price of a set of M1Evils vs a pair of replacements. Not even in the same ballpark, but I took an EVIL and a replacement and laid them on the floor and asked him to pick them up one at a time. The Carnivore came up quick and easy but the Evil, not so much. What a difference in weight, yes, and that's times 4! We get to see the results of the macho image overcoming belts, clutches and axles all the time. If a machine and it's components are overbuilt modify it, but otherwise enjoy your ride. Didn't mean to ramble on so long or take anything away from M1EVILS, but with a little research you could learn about M2EVILS and that price or weight might suit your needs. Over and out.
All makes sense! I personally prefer smaller lighter tires for those reasons as well as sportier performance.. Hard to look macho on my 86 Moto4 200 anyway! 🤣🤣🤣
Have yall ever considered doing a review on a Honda TRX700XX? I just got one earlier this year and have honestly been a huge fan of it. Only issue I had with mine was the stock rear sway bar and had one made that made a world of a difference
Yeah I'd love to do a review on one, they're awesome quads.. Kinda hard to come by them in really good shape at reasonable prices, so you got lucky.. What was up with stock sway bar? Broken or is the one you had made improving the suspension geometry?
The grizzly xtr is the best all around atv in my opinion. Yamaha needs to drop the Kodiak 700 , they already offer the grizzly in a non xtr platform And why for goodness sake would they have two Kodiaks of differing displacement (duh) Drop the big brother Kodiak and offer a two up chassis with a twin mill They have loads of time and money now since the snowmachine biz is closed for all seasons Great videos thanks for your time
Yamaha has the 450 and the 700 dialed in perfect. They just don't break. I've been a Honda guy for forty years but they're just not reliable anymore. Constant transmission and power steering issues. Yamaha is just gas and go. The best of everything. Don't change a thing.
I have a 22 SE and was just in the market for another 4x4 quad. Bought a 24 standard, couldn't beat the 10k otd price I got and having to replace the Zilla tires immediately made the choice even easier. I know they look awesome but being pelted by rocks all day long sucks. The weight and reliability of the Grizzly can't be matched, that's why I own 2 and not one and one of another brand. Plus the ride and handling is just awesome. 10 year belt, real 4x4 with locker, separate front and rear brakes. I know SxS's are the thing now, owned a few myself, but I haven't seen a hold over Grizzly even advertised here in the Pacific Northwest in years. Heck it's almost impossible to get a current year they sell so fast. Driving doesn't compare to riding.
@@noelslater822 The very early version, the first half of production in 2016 had some reports of top end issues and faulty starter springs. Those issues were resolved within that same model year. By 2017 all accounts are saying it is as reliable as Yamaha's 686. I think you're going to be good to go. I believe Yamaha had to use that engine for a few years because of storm damage at one of their production facilities.
Another great videos guys, Thank You For Keeping The Scene Alive!! I have a 21 Grizz700SE, and am looking to put 26”tires on it. Does anyone know if I can put 26”x9”x14” & 26”x11”x14” on the stock rims?? My dealer couldn’t even tell me…
I know your not a sxs guy Chad but wow I was surprised at Yamaha’s new YXZ announcement today! Surprised in a good way btw, much needed changes. Auto mode and an extra low gear for rock crawling and such. Got used to just plastic color changes from Yamaha on almost all there machines and no real effort into changing things up I hope to see that same effort in the future with upgrading there sport quad and grizzly lineup with offering more on the machine while still making them each year 🤘
No I'm not a sxs guy but even I have to admit that the YXZ is pretty damn cool.. Yamaha tested the living crap outta that thing too, making sure it was dialed for everything from crawling to top end.. So I'm guessing they knocked it outta the park..
I'm glad Yamaha doesn't change the Grizzly or kodiak much, i have both and it makes parts easier to get and cheaper and easier to get because they don't change them every other year. Same parts for a long time make it easier to fix something IF it breaks which ours haven't but my wife rolled hers after a deer hit her and parts were easily available.
Hey @Dirt ObesXXion i need a quick piece of advice. I have a 2021 Grizzly 700 SE (Canadian) i want to change the Zillas too improve trail performance. I dont hate mud just prefer to avoid it most of the time. BTW you guys are still the best ATV content provider's on UA-cam thanks for the quality informative entertainment!
Thanks! There's about a million options you can consider, but I'd recommend going with something no heavier than 6ply and no taller than 26".. We all really like the ITP terracross and they fit the bill perfectly.. Also you could keep the square set and go with 9" width.. That would save weight but still allow you to rotate them for longer tread life.. I personally think the more narrow the front tires, the better the handling, so I'd go 8 front and 10 rear... We put 25" tusks on ours but we they only came a 12" wheel so we had to get wheels too.. But, any 6ply 26 with a narrower front will significantly improve trail performance
I'm not sure if this question has been asked and/or answered yet but has Yamaha changed anything with the 1000 engine in the wolverine x2 compared to the same engine in the Rmax's? Detuned/ECU programming? Keep up the awesome work and video's. 🍻 from 🇨🇦.
I'm assuming it's the same.. Yamaha was very excited about it in the presentation, but admittedly, I didn't think to ask anything in that vein, knowing I'd only be focused on the ATV line.. But considering the 850 is still available too, I wouldn't expect the 1000 to be detuned.
In other words, nothing has changed yet again. Always appreciated Yamaha products for quality and reliability. But it seems they just seem to put all their effort in SxS. Still waiting to see the 850 twin in a 2up! C'mon Yamaha!
Prices are getting out of hand, I got a 21 kodiak 700 for 7800 out the door, and by the time I had a little over 10k with mods into it i had full aluminum skids, 28 inch tires, grizzly clutch weights, and stiffer secondary spring, warn winch and barkers slip on with ehs tuner...even though it's a base model, the lever actuated 4×4 seems to never fail me and lack of diff lock just calls for a winch every now n then. Glad I bought it when I did. But the reliability of yamaha makes the new prices agreeable compared to the Polaris and can am prices with their reliability. I mean were gonna thrash on em anyway. I'd love to have that twin cylinder power but I'd be pissed when something drive train related broke on me in the first year.
@@DirtObseXXion I like 25" or 26", I don't know why the Zillas would appeal to the broadest audience? A Terracross or Bighorn would appeal to more people from what I've read on forums and heard from people. The Yamaha dealer where I live has a lot of take off 14 Zillas because the customer wanted a different tire when they bought it.
Best channel ever! Your videos are always the best - and though we know the grizzly is the best - I love how you'll still put other quads specs above grizzly when they clearly win a category - I would love to see the camo xtr with a touch more wheelie power ;) other than that and maybe more travel - it's perfect.
The special additions this year are by far the most hideous colors, especially the Kodiaks blue/tan 🤮. So glad I got the 23. Wish tactical black was available every year…. Great video as always, you guys rock !!!
Subscribed! You guys deserve the audience for great, unbiased videos. I still cant decide on a kodiak 700, grizzly 700, or KQ. Whats your opinions? Ive watched your KQ and grizzly video also but would like a personal opinion.
I like ergonomics, powersteering, and handling of the Grizzly better, but the caveat is, that's all without those 27" zillas.. Still the Grizzly is my all time favorite 4x4.. Ive had a few of them.. I think they're perfectly balanced with power and agility... Everything else is a compromise in order to get more power or save some money
No I didn't.. I was planning on a full build but life hit hard this year and I couldn't do it. If I was to do an exhaust on the Grizz, I'd go with Barkers. EHS Racing does big three kits for the Grizzly, so if you're interested in performance upgrades, I'd check them out.
I hope it's selling well! Yamaha keeps reaffirming their commitment to sport quads, but I always get nervous about not seeing any changes. I think at this point they should allow folks to pick colors and graphics on order from the factory for the SE price. Might take a couple weeks to order but it would be pretty cool to just pick whatever you want.
@@DirtObseXXion well without wanting to make changes in motor or chassis, they could just offer the same models with different colors and stickers but also include each year a limited supply of “xtr” like packages. Have them be 1k more expensive but you get fox shocks and bead lock wheels. Maybe a cross country version with led lights? Idk. They breath new life with little effort. However, I personally would rather see another new generation raptor and yfz. But I won’t get my hopes up.
You think the color of the plastics are the biggest issue? That might possibly be the most ridiculous thing I have read. The power plant or should I say the lack of a power plant is why someone should be fired
@@DirtObseXXion It stood out to me because on my 2020 I did an under rack rad lift using a larger rhino 660 aftermarket radiator and went with a sealed spal pusher fan because it fit so well. The factory puller fan mounted behind the radiator on 2020 lost a blade and it went into the radiator. I wanted better access to the radiator and didnt have room for the fan to go behind so it ended up like in that promo shot, behind the grille in front of the radiator instead.
@@DirtObseXXion As far as I know so far , Grizzly has had the fan behind the radiator since inception so that fan in front could be new to the model, or it could be a photo op trick.
@toyota4x4legend Yeah I thought so too.. Im not sure why it looks like that but it's offset the same way the radiator fan is.. I was on Yamaha's presentation for this year's lineup and they didn't say anything about the fan.. We got the pictures after the presentation so I didn't know to bring it up... But I'm guessing it's some sort of picture anomaly.. All Yamaha said about it was that it got the XTR upgrades..
Agreed! He's crushing this year but I've been only been able to make it to a couple races. I wish I could do much more on the racing but it's super hard to film an XC race
@@VinceP341 He used to wear a gopro during the race, but I don't think it's allowed anyomore.. Probably annoying to deal with anyway.. But I promise we'll cover it when we can either here or on the VLOG channel.
If I was just looking for a 100% cheap utilitarian workhorse, Kodiak 450. If I was looking for an "affordable" utilitaran workhorse, Kodiak 700. If I am looking to spend any amount of money and want the Cadillac of Yamaha quads, Grizzly 700.
We tried to add the Brute Force to our comparison but we couldn't afford to buy all three just for a video.. But unfortunately the Brute 750 isn't around for 2024
The big heavy 27” tires are great for mudding but really suck up horsepower and degrade handling. The bike is considerably faster with 25” tires, and less likely to roll over on extreme side hill.
Not sure why Yamaha and Suzuki are not playing in the 2 up V twin market yet. If either of these companies came out with this model, I would buy it. Also, they need to up their game on ground clearance and accessories. The Zilla tires have to go!!! Finally, fit and finish needs to improve, why are the headlights loose, plastic fit/finish and seat locking system all need an upgrade.
We pointed out a few of those fit and finish items in our test last year, while I personally don't care about ground clearance numbers (I put smaller tires on anyway) I'm kinda surprised to see so many requests for a 2-up... interesting
Every year you're just waiting for the new grizzlies to come out to see what color they have this year because that's all that ever changes. I have a blue SE model from 2019 and they have not made a better looking one since then. The tires on these things have to go. Everybody buys one and then immediately has to spend 600 to a $1000 to swap out these zillas that nobody wants. By the way you're Videos are the best in the business!!!!!
I really like the yamaha grizzly but i wish they had gears like a honda rubicon not because the cvt is bad i think the cvt works great it’s smooth etc. i just prefer gears. I just wish there was a option for gears other than the hondas.
Yamaha should've taken advantage of the 25th year anniversary to launch an updated machine. Their complacency is insane with innovation is asinine. I think they are grossly over priced, even with inflation considering how old the platform is. Overall, outside of those issues, I think they are great ATV's, but at that price, I will likely look elsewhere.
Gonna be hard to argue with some of that. I'll be honest, when I got the invite to the 25th ride I was kinda hoping that was a ruse to release something... No doubt that these are premium prices for the class, but I think they still do a lot things best in the market let alone the class.. I've given Yamaha a lot of attention on the channel but there's a few reasons for that, number one is that they actually promote their ATV line which is occurring less and less these days. I think the biggest downfalll of the Brute Force 750 was Kawasaki's negligence in marketing it at all. Number 2 is that Yamaha still provides reources to improve ATV (50" restricted) trails across the country. Other companies spend that money fighting lawsuits, paying for recalls, or lobbying to allow for bigger and more expensive machines. We're seeing that manifest in more and more restrictions. WV (the most off-road friendly state this side of the Mississippi) is now restricting the development of new trails in state parks, citing significant damage to natural areas.. I know that's not a direct rebuttal to the points you made, but that's why I support Yamaha.. They have an ethos of promoting and developing powersports that I can get behind (not to mention they still make sport quads)... For some of us (me anyway), that underlying philosophy is important, and I'll support a company who shares those values with my time, energy, and money.
the change id like is a lower price for us here in canada!! of course its because the US exchange rate sucks for us Canadians which is just wrong...because of some imaginary line on the ground but...what can ya do!!!...its likely why its best to just buy from our own stock of can-ams for the best value! And supporting Canadian products! Plus can-ams are no slouch thats for sure!!!
How can Yamaha and Honda not see what the market wants. Why not spread the grizzly line up out to include a legal 2-up seat atv. If they keep going they way they are, there snowmobile section will be joined by their atv section.
Good quad peoples of the land, it's time to donate (loan) your quads in the name of science! Sure they may come back to us with a few bumps but who cares! I will offer up my 2022 brute force 750!
So Yamaha will sell a grizzly with zillas on it but when they provide them for a ride event they change the zillas for a real tire. This tells me that Yamaha knows the zillas are garbage but don't mind pawning them off on their customers. I bought 2x 2023 XTRs this year and had to spend another $1k to swap the zillas for a tire that was appropriate for riding out west in the Rockies. I am getting ready to buy a couple more ATVs but having to buy new tires for a new ATV from Yamaha has me reconsidering this brand.
I bought an XTR last year and swapped the tires out too. I asked Yamaha about it, they said a lot of folks like the Zillas.. I just wish either the SE or XTR came with a decent trail tire and without a square set up
@@DirtObseXXion I imagine the zillas are good back east where there is a lot more mud. We get mud for about a month here in Utah when the snow melts. I think a middle of the road all terrain would be best right from the factory. Have you ever tried the zillas on a paved road? They are a tragedy waiting to happen. Over about 30 mph the machine is all over the place and requires a bit of concentration to keep it going straight.
@devstuff7848 Yes, I'm not a fan at all.. We did a Grizzly review last year on an XTR we bought.. I said in that video that the Zillas detracted from everything I like about the Grizzly.. They decrease the handling, powersteering, and stability.. We swapped for 25" Tusk Terraforms, which were perfect.. There's no doubt it was a corporate decision, the Yamaha guys know they aren't a good trail tire which is why they swapped them in the media event this year. I believe the guys involved in the ATV marketing side of Yamaha would love to see a decent aftermarket trail tire as an option as well... But just like any other company, decisions come from the top down and only consult with spreadsheets and bottom lines. Surely some dudes would be mad if the Zillas weren't available too.. Unfortunately we're on the side impacted by the decision to go with the zillas
Well the Grizzly still does a lot of things better than any other ATV.. The Rincon, yeah I agree.. It's like a 23year run completely unchanged and wasn't that good to begin with.. I'm all for any updates on any ATV!
Just . How . Many. Years. Before any real changes lol. I can’t decide to tune my X3, or get some 4+3 rims and 26” ITP Terracross’s for the KQ 750 to increase overall width by about 1” for better stability and handling . Agreed about seeing any companies primary machine returning is a good thing right now .
@@DirtObseXXion I’ll sell it to you and FB! Haha lol I know y’all are completely anti SxS , whereas I fall in the middle . Your videos are put together so well and the points you make during the videos are totally valid. You have a lot of knowledge when it comes to all different kinds of, ATVs and the knowledge is based on actual riding experience. Anyway, keep up the good work, and I will continue with my goofy comments on the next video!

@@vivos71 Yes, exactly!
I love these machines. All you will ever need for everyday trail riding . I have the 2020 Kodiak 700 . Never lets me down .
Yeah I'm sure they'd knock it out of the park..
@@DirtObseXXionbut why not keep the 700 and have the 850 and 1000 cc engine as an option?
@Gabo2207 If they'd either have to cut something or expand production capabilities, which is a big investment..
We love our Yamaha Kodiak and Grizzly’s! 🤘
Awesome! Those are really great design suggestions
I'm very happy to be able to help, that's exactly why we do this! Congratulations on the new machine!
Love to hear that, and super jealous of the trails you got out there!
Great summary of these two lines! 👊🏻💥🎉
Thanks Mike!!! Looking forward to seeing your take on those new machines that we don't mention on this channel 😁🤘

Thanks for sharing! That's 16 years on the original belt, you definitely can't beat that!
@@DirtObseXXion Yes, exactly! The plan is to run it as long as possible, for the sake of "science!" LOL

Hi ,
Id like your opinion on your favorite all terrain tire for the grizzly/ kodiak 700.
Oh nice! Congrats on the new ride!
@@DirtObseXXion
My rule of thumb is 1" taller tires nothing more stops from breaking axles and a need for clutch work!
Thoughts on running 28 x 10 x 14 Sedona RipSaw RT tires and wheels on the 2024 Kodiak 700 EPS SE
im thinking on getting the 2024 xr t next year do you have any videos on the break in proses ive had older models but not a brand new one
It's great to see Yamaha actually keep the same price on some models for 2024.
I still would want a Grizzly with the 850 twin.
I know you'd put it through it's paces if it ever hit the market!
GBC Grim Reaper or Dirt Commander to replace the Zillas on the XTR?
Yamaha has a relationship with GBC so that could certainly work.. My only issue with that is that those are both 8ply tires so they're pretty heavy. I think the logical choice is the OG 4ply Bighorns, my personal preference is ITP's Terracross.
i put a set of 27" kimpex trail trooper on my 23" camo grizz. also on my 3rd grizz since 2002. great quads!
Good stuff! I've never tried the trail trooper.. Looks like a bighorn..
yes and they ride nice.@@DirtObseXXion
Might be an unpopular pick but I wish there was a 2up Japanese offering. Wanting to get into a new quad in the next couple years but now I got a little one of my own and want him to be out with me. Probably won't be able to rip as hard as a standard machine but I think it's worth the tradeoff
Actually I've seen quite few guys expressing interest in a Japanese 2-up!
I’m in the same boat. Only thing I can think of is the Suzuki king quad. In one of the dirt obsexxion video. The Suzuki has the bigger seat.
Rode fourtrax 250s and ranchers my whole life and yes I’m old. Bought a grizzly SE a few weeks ago and I really like it. It’s a much “different” riding experience but all around I’d agree with it being a great trail quad.
Congratulations on the new machine! Definitely a much different flavor than a 250X, I hope you enjoy it!
That right there is a list of great machines. Have owned or ridden them all and love them!
@@DirtObseXXion Being a mechanic for many years my experiences with CVTs has not been great. I understand this is a whole diff ball game but the ten year warranty gives me a good vibes 😎
@@SMACK1978 These hold up unlike automotive CV setups usually have.
Yep, I get that! Big difference in the Centrifugal clutch versus the flyweight in terms of reliability I think.. Yamaha and Suzuki both use the oil bathed system and seem to be pretty dang bulletproof, but only Yamaha backs it up with the warranty.

Posting the 2025 models today?
I have a Kodiak its all the bike anyone needs personally I think Yamaha are doing it maybe better than other manufacturer this last couple of years
Nice! Yep I'm partial to the Grizzly but that Kodiak is no slouch
Locking diff being an OPTION is pretty ridiculous. What year is it???
I also think the griz might have an update coming up, especially with Yamaha pulling out of the snowmobile market in order to focus on other markets
@@DirtObseXXion Let's hope so! Throwing Zillas on an XTR just seems like they phoned it in instead of making a meaningful change.
the non eps kodiak 700 is my kind of machine. super light and fast with 25 tires. perfect for trail riding.
Right on! Nothing wrong with keeping it simple! I put 25" tires on my XT-R Grizz last year because smaller tires are where it's at for handling!
I love my 2022 kodiak 700 eps

The grizzly xtr is the best all around atv in my opinion.
Yamaha needs to drop the Kodiak 700 , they already offer the grizzly in a non xtr platform
And why for goodness sake would they have two Kodiaks of differing displacement (duh)
Drop the big brother Kodiak and offer a two up chassis with a twin mill
They have loads of time and money now since the snowmachine biz is closed for all seasons
Great videos thanks for your time
Thanks for watching! Quite a few comments about a 2-up version 🤔
Yamaha has the 450 and the 700 dialed in perfect. They just don't break. I've been a Honda guy for forty years but they're just not reliable anymore. Constant transmission and power steering issues. Yamaha is just gas and go. The best of everything. Don't change a thing.
Is there any difference other then like color or wheels between 23’ and 24’??
No, they haven't changed.
I'm a big fan of the Grizzly too.. And SXSs will always suck!
Appreciated this. I finally got me a Grizzly! Granted it's a used 2017 SE, but I'm super excited to put some miles on it!

Thank you! And yes those size tires will absolutely fit those factory wheels!
I'd like Yamaha to use the 689cc twin from the R7 for this chassis
Always enjoy your opinions !
I appreciate that!
I bought my 2024 Grizzly Friday evening. Already put 100 miles on her.. LoL Beautiful machine! Tires throw rocks like mad though.
Awesome! Congrats on the new wheeler!!!
What about the 450?? And what ones have power steering?
Maybe try watching the video with the sound on and your eyes open.🙄.
Yep! Can't beat the reliability! Sounds like a pretty sick build you got going!
I think they should have led lights all the way around
The 2006 Grizzly 660 in Metallic Red is still my favorite color Grizzly but, I love the new colors for 2024!
Kicking it old school style! I like it! I love the rugged utilitarian look of the OG 99 Grizz 600 myself.. Red or Green!
I agree, they need to ditch the 14" Zillas!
I asked them about it, they said the Zillas appeal to the broadest audience, but I put 25" tires on my XTR.. The smaller and lighter the better IMO!
@@DirtObseXXion I like 25" or 26", I don't know why the Zillas would appeal to the broadest audience? A Terracross or Bighorn would appeal to more people from what I've read on forums and heard from people. I like my zillas. I do ride mud so it was nice to not have to change the tires right away
Best channel ever! Your videos are always the best - and though we know the grizzly is the best - I love how you'll still put other quads specs above grizzly when they clearly win a category - I would love to see the camo xtr with a touch more wheelie power ;) other than that and maybe more travel - it's perfect.
Glad you like them!
The special additions this year are by far the most hideous colors, especially the Kodiaks blue/tan 🤮. So glad I got the 23. Wish tactical black was available every year…. Great video as always, you guys rock !!!

They need to make a Grizzly 850
Agreed
Nah…… they need to make a 1000. An 850 would be to similar to the 700 in my opinion
Dirt ObseXXion, did you change the exhaust on your personal XTR Grizzly?
No I didn't.. I was planning on a full build but life hit hard this year and I couldn't do it. If I was to do an exhaust on the Grizz, I'd go with Barkers. EHS Racing does big three kits for the Grizzly, so if you're interested in performance upgrades, I'd check them out.
I like the blue and yfz450r. Obviously no real updates but it seems the gray and orange is selling well so they kept it for 2024
I hope it's selling well!

You think the color of the plastics are the biggest issue? That might possibly be the most ridiculous thing I have read. The power plant or should I say the lack of a power plant is why someone should be fired
tbh if Yamaha every came out with a true XMR competitor or a larger engine displacement like 800 or 850 or 1000, then Yamaha would be the best.

When are you guys going to test out the Suzuki LTZ400. It’s one of the few sport ATVs you guys have never done
I know it.. We have one to do a video! It needs a new swing arm and then it's ready to go.. The Z is one of my favorites
Unfortunately, I had a KTM 300 2 stroke dirtbike. It’s spoiled me now I need something with more powerful for an ATV.
@@keithfleet1715 We've been riding ADV and dual sports most often this year.. So I totally get it..
End up getting a Polaris outlaw 525S
@@keithfleet1715 That KTM engine is SWEET!
2:00 , is that a pusher fan, from the factory?
Just the radiator fan cooling fan.
Should I order a 23 or a 24 xtr 700?
Whichever one you like the look of better!
Why the angry looking headlights...is the bear upset or just trying to look more harsh?
Lol! Hangry..
Hey
Love to see an honest review of the new outlander 700! Supposed to be a grizzly/ king quad competitor, and a very good one!! Cheers
I'm hoping to do that, probably going to have to buy one to do it, but that's the plan.
We need Viking update videos on his XC racing!
Agreed! He's crushing this year but I've been only been able to make it to a couple races. I wish I could do much more on the racing but it's super hard to film an XC race
@@DirtObseXXion give him the camera and let him vlog alittle and maybe some GoPro footage! At a minimum we need a 2023 bike update video lol
@@VinceP341 He used to wear a gopro during the race, but I don't think it's allowed anyomore.. Probably annoying to deal with anyway.. But I promise we'll cover it when we can either here or on the VLOG channel.
I love my grizzly but God when is a 1000 coming 😢
They need to put LED bulb in the third light to match headlights.
I would still like to see a comparo of the Grizz, Kodiak, King Quad and Brute Force.
I've owned all three , hands down xtr grizzly
We tried to add the Brute Force to our comparison but we couldn't afford to buy all three just for a video.. But unfortunately the Brute 750 isn't around for 2024
Had a Kodiak first, great unit. Then went to a grizzly. Much larger unit. But in my opinion I like the grizzly better.
Yes I thought they were basically the same machine,
But the Kodiak is really small.
Ii wish that would make a version of the grizzly to go head to head with scrambler and renegade
grizzly camo needs to have camo on the pod just like the kodiak camo has
I like the black pod, but admittedly I'm not hunting.. So I can certainly understand the desire for full camo
Dude I was just telling someone else that the 19 Blue SE was the best color! Thanks brother!!!
I really like the yamaha grizzly but i wish they had gears like a honda rubicon not because the cvt is bad i think the cvt works great it’s smooth etc. i just prefer gears. I just wish there was a option for gears other than the hondas.
Well there's always a Raptor! 😁🤘
@@DirtObseXXion Well said and valid reasons for sure.
@@27Zangle 🤘
the change id like is a lower price for us here in canada!! of course its because the US exchange rate sucks for us Canadians which is just wrong...because of some imaginary line on the ground but...what can ya do!!!...its likely why its best to just buy from our own stock of can-ams for the best value!
Literally all your personal opinions is the same reason I think grizzly is the best all around atv on the market
I'd rather have a 5-year-old Grizzley than any new Polaris on the market.
They need to leave the 700 for the Kodiak and put a 850 or 1000 in the grizzly.
Oh no!!! I'm all for a bigger Grizzly but I don't want to see the current one leave!
Good quad peoples of the land, it's time to donate (loan) your quads in the name of science! Sure they may come back to us with a few bumps but who cares!
I will offer up my 2022 brute force 750!
Lol! Appreciate the assist
I don't even pay attention to the grizzly or rincon anymore they seem to be forever unchanged
Well the Grizzly still does a lot of things better than any other ATV.. The Rincon, yeah I agree.. It's like a 23year run completely unchanged and wasn't that good to begin with.. I'm all for any updates on any ATV!
I keep pushing my buddies that own side by sides to buy a 4 wheeler
Outstanding! Keep it up brother 💪
Just . How . Many. Years. Before any real changes lol.
I can’t decide to tune my X3, or get some 4+3 rims and 26” ITP Terracross’s for the KQ 750 to increase overall width by about 1” for better stability and handling .
Agreed about seeing any companies primary machine returning is a good thing right now .
SELL THE X3! LOL! You know my votes gonna be quad building! Thanks joe!
@@DirtObseXXion I’ll sell it to you and FB! Haha lol I know y’all are completely anti SxS , whereas I fall in the middle . I will tell you that x3 is an awful lot of fun when that turbo hits , and is nice in the mountains .
HOWEVER, I’m 100% with y’all too that I find the fever for more control and more individual fun from my ATV very often ! I’m grateful and count my blessings to have both .
About the KingQuad , I’d love to go wider but I’d hate to give up the awesome splash and mud spray protection on the KQ. Y’allve obviously ridden it so I’m sure you noticed how well it keeps mud and debri off the rider . One of the best I’ve been on for it . Terracross tires should be a good in the middle tire .

11.000 for a single is crazy- even it hadnt really changed since 10 years?- in europe its even crazier- round 15.000!? you guys begin for a 2 cylinder- would you be willin to spend 20 grand or more- if the atv market gets as crazy as the sxs market - im out (for a new one) ;-)
Fair points! I agree, a twin built to Yamaha standards would have to be pretty expensive..
