A "spittoon" is one of those things you see in westerns that people in saloons spit into.
So happy I got 'waived'...😂
Spittoon is a word a really associate with the old west, it’s the receptacle for disposing/spiting chewing tobacco.
Top Tip for Jodi: If you have a 4 letter ending with E and there's also a D there which you haven't used yet, try putting them together.
If you guys ever watch the original show (Countdown) you will feel like you are back in 5th grade, it's quite something to behold (but yep the comedy and the fact that often the comedians do well, that makes this golden)

The game is secondary to the jokes in this version , but I always have an eye on words and numbers . I do like your playing along in these reactions .Love to see you try the Grand final of a regular series of Countdown one day .

I got spittoon straight away this time.
As an American how can you not know what a spittoon is ? They have them in old western bars for cowboys to spit their chewing tobacco into. Pretty gross, to be honest.
more commonly used nowadays for wine tasting, years ago i went to a wine tasting event with a girlfriend on a date and thought you just drunk it untill i seen the others play with the wine in their mouths before spitting it out into the spittoon provided, i thought what a waste of wine doing that 😂
It's a damning indictment on the American education system that these two are "teachers." 😅🙄
@markysumm72 Jodi has mentioned in the past that she blows bubbles to entertain her pupils, so it's fair to assume she is teaching extremely young children. Be cool mate.

Yes the prizes are irrelevant. It's all about the humour. A serious version - the original Countdown - is also available. Not sure why but Jon was clearly not trying in this one. :)
Well, he stated clearly in the beginning how punchable he was, so I think he tried to hold himself back a bit. Although he did the 841 brilliantly

Love you both, but sometimes I'm gobsmacked at your lack of knowledge as teachers..."spittoon"..you cant be for real on that one 🤦...your country is approximately as old as just 3 of my grandparents and a spittoon is in every western nearly, the only history of the US thats been over done...however that said , its your personalities that got you to 100k not your brains ❤

You will discover as the show goes on that there are actually no real prizes. Maybe then you will realise it is designed for the laughs in between the puzzles. If you just want to do the word and number puzzles watch the normal Countdown.
