How to Cut ICF Foam for Electrical Wire and Plumbing Pipe

  • Here are a few ideas for cutting channels in ICF foam blocks in order to run electrical wire and plumbing pipe. The method I used most, and recommend, is the Angle Grinder with a Chainsaw Disc.

    Actually the router is an interesting idea. I'd seen the hotwire, chainsaw, and handsaw before. Besides a few wired routers for wood working, I have a Kobalt 24V battery operated portable router that would work great I think. My electrician wants to run conduit for all in-ICF wire so it should be easy to use with a wide simple bit

    Can I just use an oscillating saw? Or has the depth with a larger blade?

    Nice video. 1" depth doesn't meet electrical code though. 1 1/4" plus the width of the wire is needed. Closer to 2" is what you need..
