- We traveled to Mosul a city in Iraq that for years was ruled by ISIS,
but what we saw there was much more than we expected.
In this video you will meet the locals of this city and see the destroyed streets and learn what war and terror can to teach us all.

HELLO THERE:
We are Joe and Liisu, full-time travelers from Estonia on a mission to break stereotypes, show diverse cultures and wander in the magical nature. Joe, a seasoned traveler of 8 years, began his journey while working in Australia, New Zealand and Canada (holding over 25 different jobs). Liisu, a former medical doctor, joined the adventure 2 years ago. Now we live on the road, exploring the world either from our backpacks or in a van.
Oh my heart! This video was a roller coaster of smiling and crying... I'm so glad that you shared about this city and it's recent history in a different way than I've seen before.
I generally love your videos, but this one was something else. It made me cry, feel grief and hope at the same time, but also anger, as it's quite easy to see the parallel to what is happening as we speak in Palestine. Innocent people losing their hard earned living, homes and family due to interest of powers larger than them.
Thank you for spreading kindness wherever you go!
I like that you describe the cruelty of war in the most sincere tone, it is very detailed and warm! The civilians in Iraq do not want war.
I hope the United Nations can help them rebuild their homes and the people can return to a prosperous and healthy life as soon as possible!
The hug of the thin little girl and the smile of the construction worker on the roadside illustrate that war is ruthless, but people are compassionate!
Thank you for confirming all this for us! You are awesome, courageous, and the best travel experts! I have the highest respect for you! 👍🥰🙏
Wow!
Thank you once more for such heartwarming words!
We do our best to show our experiences and share the lessons as we learn them ourselves 😊
@@WildVikingTravels It is my pleasure, thanks to you too! You are a warm man, you did a really great job! Take care! Happy travels! 👍🥰🙏
Yet another important travel vlog by these two travellers. There is something in their videos from the middle east that tells us that these are cultures of peace and kindness - these are vital lessons in a world where media and politics are dividing us. Get this couple onto mainstream reportage... they really are in a separate league from other travellers and vanlifers in the way they report. Bravo Wild Vikings Bravo!
Wow, thank you so much for the kind words!
damn brother your storytelling skills are elite on another level. keep up the good work. i now love your channel
Wow, thank you for the kind words!
We do our best to share the world as we see in on our journeys!
You guys made me cry 🥲
Ohh man, Yea.
Even thinking about that place still brings tears to our eyes as well
This video is incredibly eye-opening. The resilience and kindness of the people in Mosul shine through despite the hardships they've faced. It's heartwarming to see the hospitality and positive spirit of the locals, a testament to their strength and humanity. Thank you, Wild Viking Travels, for sharing such a powerful and moving experience. 🌍💙
I was fine, right to the end, and then sobbed my heart out. Great video, really affected me. Thank you, beautiful souls.
I really just love you two guys. Kindness is so important and i feel yours through the screen. If you ever find yourself in Galway you have a friend. sending you both Love, Kindness and Respect Marc x
Hi guys, such an amazing video. After seeing war myself I clearly understand your emotions. There is not a day that I can think about my brothers and sisters that payed the ultimate sacrifice. Hope the people from Iraq and Afghanistan can live in peace for every.
This is one of the most beautiful videos I have ever seen! You are great story-tellers. This video is therapy.
Thank you for the kind words!
We do our best to show the world as we see it ourselves and share the lessons we learn on the way 😊
Thank you. You conveyed a positive and good image of my city. You are a wonderful person. I wish you a happy life.❤❤❤
So nice of you
Thanks for sharing your experience, we not do always perceive the realities, love from south africa
Thank you for all of your honesty and your feelings!!! So hard to stand!!! But so hopefully!!! 🙏
Wow, that was a moving story, thanks for showing us things we may never experience
An amazing story. Some Iraqi families lost everything in the war. Yet they still value life.
The little girl hugging a strange lady, couldn't keep my eyes dry there...
Lovely thoughtful story telling guys. Thank you !
The two of you make some of the best travel videos on UA-cam. They aren't always the happy travel videos of beaches and cool places. You provide us with so much insight into places that most of us have never visited. We love how you narrate with passion, compassion, thoughtfulness and emotion. We don't often have tears in our eyes watching travel videos, but you invoke our emotions about things we weren't even aware of. Your interactions with locals show how kind people around the world are. Most people are genuinely nice. Is is the corrupt, power hungry rulers/governments that can, and do, make the world a living hell for so many!!! Thanks you for these great videos!!! We really appreciate what you are doing and have so much respect for the two of you!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for such a heartwarming comment!
Best wishes!
Joe and Liisu!

Such kindness
In Islam, it is considered noble work to feed travelers and people in need.
Love You Guys! ✌️💯
I have no idea how Americans sleep at night… thank you for this video. The world is lost.
They sleep fine, most are brainwashed so no issues there.
hehe i know@@LayllasLocker
Totally agreed! US Empire must pay reparations and rebuild the city!
@@MsOceanstar USA paid to Iraq. 2,5 billion USD aid + 18 billion USD for reconstruction.
@@MsOceanstar...STOP Blaming America for EVERYTHING while people do Anything and EVERYTHING to get here-legal & Illegal--and Jump on The System and feed off the taxes of working Americans.
Well, that was powerful! I have a few years on you guys and have visited some pretty god forsaken places over the years to discover that, where there is life, there is hope! We all hope for peace, for love, sadly many never find it in their hearts, how can they ever share love with those around them! I travel less now but still push my boundaries, my borders, to experience that "love", to share that "love", in my own way. The one thing I still carry with me is "respect", respect others and they will respect you. No matter what religion, what culture, show respect"
Awesome UA-cam channel! 🔥
Thanks so much!!
Keep safe and well
Was this recently. How sad❤
Yea, 2014-2017.

Its very painful to see all of this war destroy All the dreams of every person
Amazing video again great job Joe.👋
Glad you enjoyed it
Hic bir avrupa ulkesinde uzaktan gelen misafirlerine acaba bedavaya ufacık bir ikramda bulunurlar mı orta dogu fakir ama gönülleri zengin.
If I could give two thumbs up to this video I would, so the second is here! 👍
You're the best!
❤❤❤
Unreal 😳
Yea!
It was quite rough seeing all of this with our own eyes, yet at the same time it just teaches so much about the cost of war.
❤
I feel your compassion! And my heart absolutely goes out to the innocent Iraqis and I am touched too by the kindness they showed you. But do not forget it is US imperialism that brought ISIS to Mosul! It is the crime of US illegal invasion causes such damages. The US must pay for rebuilding the city, and reparations. But as of now, there’s Gaza Palestinians being bombed! And sufferings continue. Yes we are capable of campaigning for peace and but can we bring consciousness to the war mongers of the West and their money making military industrial complex machinery and the brutality of the killers!
The world is lost.
Someone must be cutting onions in the room I am in. You have a magical way with words. Wonderful video.
Wow, thank you.
Yea, i sort of cried even when editing yhis one although i lived through all of it before 😅
@@WildVikingTravelsMy family is from old Mosul. They were lucky and saw what's coming and left to Turkey before things got bad. Some went to Baghdad. I thank you, both of you, for this masterpiece ❤
اخخخ يا عراق لقد دمروك اعداء الانسانيه😢

Tour to Iraq , are you nuts?
😁 Well, maybe a little 😅
