I always thought this was probably the best Ordre of them all. Heroic, emotional, sensitive, uncanny, even bleak at times... Every piece has its own character and the whole ensemble makes a very cohesive and compelling listening experience.

Couperin's writing is challenging to realize on the piano, but I have found that it is sometimes helpful to play the ornaments as in Ravel's tombeau de Couperin- by holding the principal note rather than trying to repeat it in a literal fashion. The second escape is crucial in soft passages with ornaments for that reason. Enjoy!
