The shadow shadow fruit is definitely in my top ten fruits I wouldn't mind having but it'll probably be a waste on someone like me. I don't have the heart to use it against others by taking away their shadows, so in my hands, it would be mostly used for self defense, teleportation, and traveling by doing something like turning my doppelganger into a flying carpet or something like that.
I think Moriah was actually on his way to being a yonkou, but probably lost his drive after losing his crew to Kaido.
Idea: maybe do a series similar to MasakoX and do what if scenarios with one piece.
You could do one like "What if Gekko Moria defeated Luffy, and brought Oars to the Marineford War."

The yami yami no mi is not actually a fruit of darkness, it‘s a fruit of gravity. The only reason for that is, of course: black hole.

Moria was probably not using his fruit to its maximum potential, but he had a good advantage : his shadow is pretty big, so by consequence, he can make more forms out of his shadow.
I mean, you can still vary the size of your shadow by changing the lighting ... if a user of the shadow fruit was to put a strong light in front of them, and then project their shadow onto a huge wall or something far away, the shadow would be huge.

The way to go with this explanation and have it still make sense, is that zombies, contrary to toys or homies, have animal physiology, and can, thus, absorb the salt through their digestive tract. If you forcefeed salt into a tin soldier, he is still made of tin, so he'll basically be a walking can a salt, same thing with a homie made from any inanimate object. That's the one and only variation that can make the difference here: zombies can absorb the salt into their bodies, while toys and inanimate objects cannot

Ryuma didn't have his shadow in Thriller Bark, his body used Brook's shadow.
14:46 Ryuma probably remembered who he was because his body wasn't changed. My bet is that most zombies don't remember because "their" body is a frankenstein of other human and animal parts, but if left whole they probably retain their old identity

Hey law tekking, remember a while back when you discussed an oda sbs about one of the straw hats dying? What about usopp? He’s a great character and I don’t want him to die but back in the little garden arc he stated that one day he hopes he can have a glorious death like the giants of Elbaf. Maybe that will lead him to finally be the brave warrior of the sea like he always wanted. I’m a big fan btw so keep up the good work.
I am of the opinion that no strawhats will die until the final arc. Ussop has a good chance of that as well as a few others but i thino theirs and equally good chance no strawhats will die

Brook was watching zombies eat salted fish and thought the fish was what caused the shadow to leave the zombie. When he confronts moria, moria gives it away that its the salt not the fish and thats how they found out about the salt

If I'm right, Lola and her crew tried to take back their shadows but failed but discovered that the shadows werw tangable and were able to be caught and absorbed but when they tried to use the shadows they could only get around 3 before passing out.
Luffy handled 100, Moria had 1000.
The salt thing is true for ancient English lore too. They used salt to make a barrier against demons/witches.
Personally I think it's inspired by salt's ability to stop things from rotting.
In Marineford war a lot of strong people died (pirates and marines) ,if Moria has their corpses or that of Oars Jr. he will be a force to be reckoned with.(He could have known where most bodies are of Marines are buried.)

Personally, I can sort of Understand why Moria survived that punch from Nightmare Luffy. Let’s think about it, at one point, he was a rival to Kaido. Then Kaido killed all of Moria’s entire crew & almost killed Moria!
(.. Kaido is why Moria has that scare all through his body! ..)
Considering what I said, If anything; at one point, Moria may have actually been one of the strongest OG Warlords. But over 10 - 15 years of being really, really Lazy & not training, really weakened him; after all, if you don’t use it, you loose it!
Also... that hole nearly killed by Kaido thing, might be how Dr. Hogback joined Moria’s crew.
Well he wasn’t Kaido’s rival more like Moria was an up and comer pirate who fought Kaido in the new world and was badly defeated with all of his crew killed. Possibly If the two meet again and Moria talks about getting revenge for his crew I can see Kaido saying something along the lines of “ When you destroy as many crews I have they all blend together or I’ve destroyed like 3 other crews that week and yours wasn’t the strongest “ . Basically you weren’t that different from anyone else I’ve faced

You make a great point, but my question is, when did Kaido officially become a Yanko? I’m thinking that this injury happened a couple of years after Roger’s Death, ya know sense we see a Jacked Moria at the execution.

Also Moria’s been in the Florian Triangle for only 10 years, while the Warlords have been around for at least 14 - 16 years after the Time-Skip. I like to think that maybe Moria was partially responsible for Kaido’s invulnerability. I still remember the 4 awakened zoan’s we saw in War Saga. I’m thinking, could Kaido be an Awakened Mythical Zoan user. If he is what I said then where & when did he awaken his Fruit. Also we are in Wano, & If Kaido does have a Mythical Devil Fruit, I would think it could be extremely likely he would have a specific Yokai Origin in his Fruit.
Also we saw a Literal “Snake-Neck” Woman in the last Chapter, and I think it would be hilarious if that character is what a pure “Snake-Neck Tribe” member is like, hahahaaa!
Incarnation_Of_Immortality Well to find that out is kinda simple. Back during Roger’s Adventure before finding Raftel he had to break into Big Mom’s territory to read her Poneglyph. This shows that the Yonko system existed prior to Roger. Not only that but the recent chapter kinda of confirmed at least 20 years ago Kaido was considered to be a powerful figure .

Ahhhhh that’s the Ticket, isn’t it; yes Roger did have to steal a copy from Big Mom’s Territory, but the Tot-land archipelago is the place Big Mom grew up with “Mother Caramel.” With Hole-Cake Castle being the Original spot for the Orphanage she grew up in. Sense Big-Mom was a former member of the Rocks/Locks crew, she would have a Road Poneglyph.... so since she’s been setting up Shop sense she was 8, wouldn’t it make sense she kept it in her Home base.
Again, I don’t think the Yanko have been around as long as we thought.
14 - 16 years ago, The Seven Warlords were made to help keep balance between Paradise / The World Government, & the Yanko.
My thoughts are as follows; we had Crocodile, & Gekko Moria who have had Several encounter’s with WhiteBeard, & Kaido respectfully. Moria was Stated to be Kaido’s rival. While Crocodile had history with White-Beard.
My point, if 4 people are being called emperor’s, & and by being called that, threatening the balance. The World Government Decided To make the 7 Warlords. Having the strongest pirates they can find to keep themselves in a position of authority! Where Moria, Crocodile, Hawk Eye Mihawk, & Gimbe all had Encounter’s with the Yanko.
Hope we get to see Moria again during the Wano Arc.

The Shadow fruit is just the best
I think where Oda got the idea for Salt purifying zombies was from a real life poison that was brewed from crazy toxic stuff. It was given to prisoners and if they didn't die. They would become extremely docile and zombie like. They were used for labor. Salts chemical composition instantly negated the poisons effect when ingested.
Isn't salt also popularly depicted as having evil warding properties? Guess that's where that came from (at least in part).

assuming that the shape of the shadows can be changed, and that they can be exposed to direct sunlight (seeing as how Moria made zombies at marine ford, they can be) a clever user could carry shadows in bottles on a bandoleer, they could have a variety of fighting styles at their fingertips, found a random sword? Pull out a swordsman's shadow, found a pistol? whip out a marksmen's shadow, various styled of marshal arts strapped across your chest. If you have enough storage (or of multiple could be shoved into one jar) you could have shadows Asgard or a nightmare form at a moments notice.

In some countries and cultures, parents usually tell their children don’t play with your shadow at night. Cause when you go to sleep at night, the shadow might lured you into its dimension or world and you might never found your way back. I think the straw hats didn’t think about the salt solution in Dressrosa is they didn’t know that the toys were actually humans, cause by a DF. By the time they found out, the problem were already escalated, they didn’t have time to stop at a grocery store to buy salts. The only one that was actually using her brain is Robin, Franky was feeling too emotional for the Tontattas, Usopp was being his scary self, Luffy and Zoro was too busy laughing at Pica’s voice. Usually the op DF goes to a lazy or stupid person. With the Kage-Kage no Mi, you could use it as a tool to spy on people for information. When using it as a offense, there are so many things you can do with it, but Moriah was both lazy and an idiot. Lets say Luffy’s arm was drench in saltwater, and yes Luffy will lose some of his strengths, when he goes to punch Moriah’s shadow, will the shadow still be able to dissipate and will it takes damages from Luffy’s punch? If the shadow does take damages, does Moriah’s body take the same amount of damages?
Jimmy Orchid luffy wouldnt lose any strength from his arm being covered in salt water. It’d take about half his body being submerged in water.
If a swordsman had this fruit, they could kill their enemies in broad daylight by targeting the shadow.

Slight correction - Ryuma didn't have his own shadow, he was the body with Brook's shadow.
Marine user of the kage kage no mi would be so op,so here is what you do: go impel down take level 4-5-6 level prisoners shadows and you dont have to worry that they will get sunlight and throw those shadows into admirals or strong people and boom you are god dayum strong.
Can't wait for horoween since i grew up with cartoons running on Halloween with a spooky theme and now tekking fills the void those toons left behind.
You are hands down the best and most entertaining anime based UA-camr you have so much enthusiasm and seem like you actually are passionate about what you talk about and go out of your way to have all the facts and decorate your room or have props or outfit while other youtubers have the same thing every time but you are entertaining every single time sometimes i watch just watch some of your videos that i have no knowledge about like animes i dont watch but your enthusiasm keeps me watching hope you raise to the top
i remember back when i came up with my own crew i picked both moriah and sugar because i came up with a combination of their devil fruits powers where moriah rips the shadow of someone and then sugar turns them into a toy. so not only can you make a crew of zombies but you can also get rid of all the potentially dangerous fighter whose shadows you stole by transforming them into toy slaves. i also thought that if the toys with no shadows no longer die in sunlight because they don't really have the body of a normal living creature anymore. so basically i would use the hobby-hobby fruit to cover all the weaknesses of the kage-kage fruit and create a zombie army and a work force of shadowless toy slaves.
In Voodoo, salt is used to represent the Earth to bind the body back to the ground when dealing with zombies

I know kage kage no mi is a Dope fruit you can certainly do cool sh** with it but you know most devil fruit users who are adept at using their abilities have the right physical abilities that enhance their devil fruit usage you know like Enel or Katakuri or even like Crocodile they are well built; contrary to Moria who is egg-shaped ! I mean you know ...

Matt, Morria actually willingly gave back the shadows realizing Luffy's determination to fulfill his dream. I completely forgot it myself till I reread ther manga recently :o
You should do a video on all of Luffy's allies. He's got his grand fleet, various pirate crews (like the Heart pirates and Sun pirates), entire kingdoms (like Fishman Island and two founding countries of the world government), and strong people like Shanks, Sabo, and Rayleigh. There's also potential allies in the future, like Wano, Elbaf, and other supernova.

What I don’t understand is why Moria didn’t the shadows of dead people? Couldn’t he have dug up two strong people, taken their shadows, and then just exchanged them? That way he doesn’t have to worry about people dying, having to fight people, etc

Considering the name Gecko in Japanese means moonlight and the Kozuki clan contains the kanji respectively for light and moon it would not suprise me if Gecko battled Kaido because he was the next in line to be shogun and Momo's regent till he comes of age and given how clans like this often had previous marriages and affairs Gecko Moriah is Oden's half-brother or through conventional means he could be his brother or cousin.
But after his defeat he changed his name and fled Wano as a new man

@@goShinigami i would love to see moria or law be the one to do it but seeing as how kaido has a beef with luffy, nightmare luffy is a fan favorite, and law has a history of giving the final fight to luffy with doffy, i see law dealing some damage but i also see him either not able to or refusing to hold 9 super powerful shadows, whereas luffy has the most will and ability to handle those shadows, and moria would be glad to lend luffy shadows if it meant killing kaido since he wouldnt have to fight himself and hopefully luffy and kaido would kill each other, now thinking about it the 9 supernova shadows might not work since bege prolly wonr show up but we may see katakuri give luffy his shadow since big mom is on her way to kaido, so we may get to see nami using zeus again as well

It was sad that Moria and Kaido were Rivals once .. But it was until Moria`s crew was killed by Kaido . So it was after that Moria become Lazy .... when he was young he looked a lot better .. in Roger`s execution . Tekking you have to remember that Moria had his entire crew killed by Kaido so he became depressed and pessimistic. He made the zombies since they couldn't die like his original crew so he didn't have to care.

To be fair, the tree zombie was probably an experiment to see if it worked, and because it did, they may be more.
If I recall what I know of Haitian folklore (from which the ideas of Zombies originated), salt was used to stop zombies being zombies. Apparently it released the spells the person who made the zombie used.
The ghosts of Wano could be a reference to the Hyakki Yagyō the Parade of 100 Demons they could be meeting an old enemy Gecko Moriah who has an army of yokai mythical devil fruit users and could use him to take down Kaido and that the battle Moriah had with Kaido in the past had help from Lilin the reaction of both the Soul-Soul fruit and the Shadow fruit like Punk Hazzard changed Wano's landscape to be in a limbo state between the lands of the living and the dead and the loop had a delayed effect via the lifespan only being activated 20 years ago

The shadow clone cant really shape shift into what moria looks like when it comes to his actually face and body and stuff like that, the reason why we saw morias face on that shadow body because that was really morias face, he was just in the middle of switching places with his shadow. Also big moms soul fruit cant but souls into animals.

idk what people expect they would do with the kage kage no mi that moria didnt do. We simply didnt see all of moria's capacities with the fruit (we saw for example, what he did to oars jr with tsuno tokage).
the main thing moria should have done better is capture stronger shadows in the new world, but at the same time, this also runs a higher risk of accidently capturing someone you DONT want to piss off. moria prob wanted a huge number of shadows plus oars before he went on a shadow crusade in the new world replacing the weak shadows with more powerful ones conquest style with oars as the equialent of hannibal's elephant.
The salt could also have to do with Egyptians because one of the things they use to mummify the dead is salt
Maybe that why doffy had a fruit present during the war, it was for getting moria fruit, but backfire, and he got the fire fire no mi from ace death, and essentially went and use it for his own reason.

I think one of the most broken devil fruit combos is Kage Kage no mi and awaken pika pika no mi because assumably it would alter the environment to always be daytime like Enies Lobby and then you just take the shadow while it's permanently daytime And that's an instant win

The kage kage no mi is definitely VERY powerful, but i feel like trying to use it to it's fullest extent would be VERY difficult
That's basically every Devil Fruit. To bring out the full potential of a Devil Fruit you need to train like hell. Luffy's training with the Gum-Gum Fruit is one of many examples of this.
@@animefbi5460 yeah I see what u mean (some fruits more than others). But like whenever tekking talks about it he mentions that it's really powerful, referring to it's ability to make an army. But there is no good way to go about making an army everything has some kinda huge downside.

@@TravelingZebra while you're not wrong, if that's your best move you're going to lose pretty hard. Dealing with a teleporter would be pretty easy, when you know where they are going to teleport to.

just realized one of the main reasons doffy knew for sure moria wasnt dead i becuase he knows how the devil fruits regenerate, he most likley had a bunch of fruits with him at marineford as he managed to get aces fruit after he died, and since no kage kage fruit showed up after morai vanished he knew for sure he had failed at killing him
