    I recently took delivery of my black base M3 RWD. Took 2.5 weeks from order to delivery!
    I went over the car like inspector gadget and aside from some small paint swirls mostly from the people drying the car (it’s raining a lot in CA) it was perfect aside from my touchscreen. After 4 days, the screen kept blacking out at my workplace and that happened twice one day after the other. Took it to Tesla where they replaced it. The panels lined up, no gaps, no foggy head or tail lights.
    I too thought about the Y but realized I wouldn’t utilize the extra space as much as I wanted to lie to myself and I realized with my city commute the base RWD is all I need from a practicality standpoint. Overall, so happy with the car. I find myself feeling calmer and enjoying the commute :))

    Charging LFP batteries to 100% regularly is for BMS calibration and making sure your Tesla's range estimate is correct. It is also for cell balancing, ensuring cell (and therefore pack) life.

    man i dont think anybody can really compete with tesla now. elon really knows what he's doing and he has the first mover and volume advantages. Wouldn't wanna be the competition.
    The model 3 is like 40k with 7500 credit 32,500. Thats still a tad pricey in my book, but overall in 2023 terms it's not. Plus you do save about 100 a month on gas by my calculations (at least I would, YMMV), thats not nothing. If you have the Model 3 ten years you'd save 12,000. It's not justification for buying the car IMO and it takes a long time to pay off, but it's a nice bonus. However where I live in Texas, they charge you 400 extra upfront and 200 annually extra to register an EV. So you give some of that back. In ten years you'd give 2200 (400+200X9=1800) back on the fees, if they stay the same. So you'd still save $9800.
    Probably my BIGGEST issue is, I currently have a home with a garage. As you note the perfect charging setup. However I am strongly considering moving back to an apt sometime in the next few years. A tesla would then be a big negative I would think, but I'll have to research more.

    I’m waiting for my model 3 rwd hopefully this week!
    The fact that people are polarized by brands these days annoys the crap out of me. Just because I buy an iPhone doesn’t mean I support Apples decisions in what they support. The same with every freakin thing. I don’t know why people cannot be mature enough to know these big companies regardless of who could give a crap and you don’t have to agree with an employee at a company to know they have a good product. Also Nvidia talking about you!
    None the less, great integration with the electrical infrastructure. Tesla is just so far ahead with the experience that until you sit in and drive one you will never understand how far in the future they are.

    • @Gnosim
      @Gnosim Рік тому +1

      I believe they previously had stiffer suspensions because initially Tesla cars were more of a sporty/speedster car brand. As Tesla became more and more mainstream and bought/driven by regular people, sporty suspension didn't make sense. Most regular drivers just want comfort suspension/driving, so as it happens, Tesla switched to a softer suspension system.

    Ordered a silver/white rwd the day after the price cuts. I had been wanting an electric car for some time and even looked at buying a 60k ev6 back in December while on vacation. I had a 21 rav4 hybrid so I was ready to make the full electric switch, only reason why we didn't pull the trigger on the ev6 was because it was black and I just can't stand a black car. I take it as God's timing because I saved about 15k by waiting a month. Been driving it since January 27th and I'll never go back. Congrats to all who were able to take delivery of a new Tesla!!!

    I have a question regarding blind spot and memory seat in Model 3. Does it comes standard with blind spot, lane keep, lane change assist and memory seat function?

    • @JSLReview

      You get blind spot camera, lane keep assist, and memory seats, all standard features.

    • @sleepy_ipl
      @sleepy_ipl Рік тому +1

      If by "lane change assist," you mean the car automatically changes lanes to the left or right while driving on autopilot, you will need the "Enhanced Autopilot" package, which is +$6,000.
      The blind spot feature on Teslas is not like other vehicles. There is no orange light or indicators on the side mirrors to notify you of a car in your blind spot while driving.
      Instead, when you activate your turn signal a live camera feed will display on the screen showing you your blind spot in real time. The car has cameras mounted on both front fenders that face towards the rear blind spot of the car and displays these cameras when you turn on your turn signal.

    I'm getting mine Tuesday and am excited about it! I've never bought a car this way before. Mine is about as base as they come (except for the red paint!), but I'm not going to use the ugly (to me) wheel covers and have ordered the Tesla hub caps to go on the quite nice wheels hidden beneath. After I've lived with it for a month or so I may get the wheels powder coated an almond color, which will contrast nicely with the red paint.

    I just took delivery of my Model 3 RWD and I charge it up to 100% about once or twice a week.
    The reason for this is because we are currently experiencing extreme weather and I am preparing for massive power outages. Once summer comes around I will likely just charge to 90% weekly and 100% monthly to recalibrate the range. (I work from home)
    While yes charging to 100% will not hurt iron based batteries as much as NCA batteries it’s still not the healthiest thing to do to your battery. The only reason Tesla recommends charging to 100% regularly is because LFP batteries are twice as durable as NCA batteries and they need to be recalibrated to give you the most accurate range estimate. The last thing Tesla wants is a bunch of LFP owners stating “I had 20% and all of a sudden it dropped to 5%!” This is a true possibility if you have not recalibrated your LFP battery for few months.

      Appreciate the comment, glad to hear I’m not the only one who researched the implications of charging to 100 daily. Are you enjoying the model 3??

      @@JSLReview Im loving it. I love the efficiency and the power! People worry the RWD won't be quick enough for them... trust me its quick enough 😆

    Hi! Great video. I have the exact same car/trim and I have been driving it for 2 days! Does your range reduce at the same rate as your odometer increases for each trip? I have noticed that on the highway at constant speed or around 67mph, my range reduces much faster than the mileage I cover. Almost 15 to 20% faster. That’s got me a little worried. I’m not sure if you cycled the SOC before the car “reset” or recalibrated. Comments?

      Hey there, congrats on the car! I’m in Chicago so the cold weather is impacting my range. If it’s cold and you use the climate control, I heard it’s normal for range to drop significantly. Not worried about it for now, will monitor to see if it normalizes once the weather changes.

    a senior living on the basic Canadian pension of $640 a month and $260 CPP cannot afford any new car,yet alone one of these,if they live in a seniors lodge,,there is no way of charging these, or live in old neighbor hoods wthout the infastructure to put charging stations in older homes.. we live in little higher scale neighborhood with a power bill of about $450 a month, so adding one of these cars to out already high power bill is impossible. , thanks Ken

    You can’t let Tesla off the hook by buying their car where they’ve removed the sensors that aids in safety for parking. You saying it’s “not that big of a deal” is such a huge compromise, FOMO is what they depend on. If vision Tesla was so possible, it would be available now.

    I was always driving big SUV, i like comfort and good music so it was a big question about tesla 3(I would go with Y but cant affort extra 15k in Canada) so i rented model 3 and ofcourse its worse comparing to big suv but way better than I expected. But sitting that low and have a roof line at same level what my mirrors at my current car is wild :D
    Will try to get financing from my credit union and see what % they will give me cause in Canada Tesla is 6.6% on financing. I need to ask for full price cause I must have a car for work and cant sell it before. After I would get tesla Im selling my car for 15k and putting it into loan
    My tesla will be red for sure on black rims and it looks so good after tesla changed that chrome for black. Just need to wrap tesla logo in black and it will look awesome

    There is no issue charging to 100% every day. It does slightly accelerate degradation, but since LFP chemistry is good for 3,500 equivalent full cycles to reach 90% of the initial capacity, which means the battery pack is good for around a million miles. The rest of the car will rot away before your battery degradation is an issue, so just plug it in, and let it charge to full.

      This is correct. I keep telling people this - the battery will OUTLAST THE CAR.

      How is regenerative braking when battery is charged at 100%? I was under the assumption we shouldn't charge to 100% just for regen so I typically just charge anywhere between 85%-93%.
