That speech Lena gave at the ceremony was not planned. She had intended on outing Kara. For better or worse, Lena meant what she said in that moment. She almost cried when she chose not to send the email. She pulled that speech from her heart. She may have put the walls back up and went back to hate, but in that moment, Kara had told her the truth and Lena pulled that speech from her heart.
Omg this is amazing. I love the dialogue you pulled - there is so so much epic lines between and from these two and you really found the perfect lines to highlight their strength as pair even through their fallout. Like how can anyone watch this video and not come to the conclusion that Kara and Lena are soulmates???
Lena never fully understood why Kara treated her like she did when she was Supergirl. I wish the show let them have 1 convo about how Kara questioned her about the Kryptonite cause that was really the first step towards the conflict that would separate them. We never get to fully dive into it, but Kara's fears were real and she ended up being right to be concerned. If Lena had not been so shady, Supergirl never would have doubted her and Kara may have told her way sooner.
Lena never fully abandoned Kara, she wanted to, but couldn't. The moment she realized Lex was working against Kara she ran to her apartment, threw herself at Kara's mercy, and begged to help her. Did she do all of this for the greater good? No. She did it because in that moment Kara's safety mattered more to her than anger, revenge, or ego. The show made it clear that every time Kara was in danger Lena was willing to put everything aside to protect her. When push came to shove she cried as she chose not to send the email to Andrea that would have exposed Kara, this kept Kara safe. She had the chance to escape with Myriad while Kara was fighting in the fortress, she risked her own goals to help protect Kara, once shaikh choosing Kara's safety over her own. She had a panic attack when the Kryptonite cannons almost shot Kara, once again Kara's safety came first. She cried and almost broke when she saw the pain she caused by using Kryptonite on Kara in the fortress. It's clear, Lena would never abandon Kara, she was literally incapable of it.
