    • @utubecomment21
      @utubecomment21 4 роки тому +2

      I think so yes! The standard block becomes the test bed for development to extract more power from what is ultimately a chunk of metal. Displacement is changed, bore is changed, internal components are binned and upgraded, and in the case of a billet block, not one atom from the Japanese manufacturer touches the new engine built in America. I suspect one reason to keep the engine name is for marketing, or else it would be a random engine that probably wouldn't attract much attention. However, I also suspect another reason (apart from legal ramifications possibly) is to give praise and respect to the original engineers by keeping the name, as a car enthusiasts community should be grateful to the OEM's. I guess that's why the community is spitting bricks at Toyota for the shameful attempt of literally rebadging a BMW as a Toyota.
      Rant
      Much as I love Toyota and the excellent 2JZ and for producing Lexus, I think the ball is slipping out of their hands. People are flocking to buy the new BMW because, that's that's the only option ... like the first three Star Wars Films, Phantom Menace, Attack Of The Clones and Revenge of the Sith. They are bad films, but at the time they seemed good because that's all there was at the time.
      I do hope one day the Supra will return, but having seen my in-laws and the hassle they had with their unreliable Z4 with just over 40k miles and the stack of repair bills they received until they sold the thing, I don't hold out much hope for the BMW Supra. Fans boys will always say it reliable, but name me one BMW M car since the E30 and E34 that hasn't had anything but catastrophic engine issues, 6,8,10's? And now Toyota has jumped into bed with that. I wish the new Supra owners good luck, and a hefty increase in their bank accounts, 'cause they're gonna need it!!!

I would love if ams has actually tried to make their own engine block consist of metal like 2jz for some gtr ams build package, i know it's hard and complex to design a block of engine but i can't imagine how it goes if it's done hhh

    I hate to be that guy, but the engine builder bage was crooked. Otherwise, Id expect a lot nicer, more organized engine assembly room. Using a stool to caulk/sealant on the timing covers? The thing is, the guy new he was being taped, he knew it was being recorded and being used as basically an ad/promo for AMS. Youd figure if you wanted to show off/advertise your new products/service, you'd want the set to be clean, organized and not one hint of cluttering.

      11Anti11 if an rb26 can handle 800bhp on stock internals I'd say the vr38 could run 1000bhp for a short amount of time on stock bottom end. The advantages of e85 would see it there. It'd only need rods,pistons, valve springs, larger turbos, to safely run 1000bhp.
