The eve of All Hallows has arrived and I'm back so soon to share another scary tale from the new MASKS EP! This track, as the closer of Masks, tells the story of Father John Ward who lost his mind after a failed exorcism and returned to the possessed girl he couldn't save to put an end to the devil inside her. He searches deep in the woods of Connecticut for her abandoned home but finds other forsaken creatures lurking as well... Is his faith misplaced, he asks, or will his prayers deliver him in his encounter with true evil? Musically this song took a very odd turn especially after a mostly heavy EP, but I felt like trying something new and running with the "dark gospel" kind of sound. My friend Matrix has supplied some amazing graphical expertise for the unique video needs of this song, so big thank you to him for the... er... "faithful" look of the video.

This gives me the impression of a disillusioned person who’s lost their faith in what they believe in. Or, alternatively, someone who’s seen so much but is still hanging onto their last shred of faith.
The alternative explanation is basically John in the game.
Great description of the main character of the game xD I think you're pretty much spot on
I mean that is kinda the plot of faith. He had (and depending on the ending still does have) doubts about defeating this demon through God.
@@willtheshyguy and he had the doubt implanted in him by man that if it was real or a product of his mind but the good ending shows he regained his faith that he defeated the demon and let the girl multlated as she was go but i dont know how long shed survive with her face cut off

@@nothilton4943 I did, if you notice through the chapters of the game Johns faith is put to the test, and through his cross we can see it degrading and depending on the ending he has restored faith.

What's haunting me the most is the seemingly footsteps in the instrumental. They weigh on my heart.
Got a Dwarf Paladin carrying some shame and grief from his past in a campaign right now, definitely using this song to represent that myself.
Nice I have a oc character who is an archangel he started as a man but when demons destroyed his home he vowed to stop hell and chose to become an angel

FAITH is the last game I would've expected a song for, but I'm certainly not complaining.
This is extremely good.
That little clip at the end was a very cool touch as well. I’m disappointed it didn’t make it onto the album version, but I understand why that’s not possible.

I haven’t played this game but I’ve seen youtubers play it. So I know the gist of it. Needless to say, I’ve been going through a lot of trials during the month of October. I’m a Christian and, like the song, it seems that I “gotta have faith”. So this song hits home in a way.
Syd R even as a pagan I still adore this song, and I still believe in having faith in the face of evil. That evil just has a different face, much like God
This song is quite solidly one of my favorite songs from the EP. It just has this theater, this presence about it that just draws me in. I just get absorbed into the experience, and I have an absolute blast singing along with the music. It's a song that stokes a fire in my heart and never fails to hype me up whenever I hear it. It sounds odd to describe it like that, considering the nature of the song, but it does. I couldn't tell you why.

Just came across this for the first time, and needless to say based on the Dark Southern Rock part, I was not expecting something I like this much. Even with genre's I wouldn't usually like Aviators keeps my interest. I gotta say, this might be one of my new favorites of his.

One of my favorite things about FAITH is how believably human John is written. He isn’t some steel-willed preacher ready to go to war against the forces of Hell. He’s just a normal man of faith, armed with a crucifix and his wavering belief. He exemplifies how, even as a Christian, even as a man whose life is dedicated to the Bible’s teachings, that seeds of doubt and fear can burrow their way under anyone’s skin. He knows that he’s backed by God, but even then, it’s difficult to stay brave when you’re surrounded by enemies looking to tear you down. It’s so good, bravo to Airdorf’s writing and Aviators’ musical talent ❤
This actually fits with the forest too as long as Eric has faith his son is alive he fights through the mutants and canibals holding on to what little he has and in the end his faith pays off as he gets his son back
As a Christian I can say this could legit pass as a religious song. Maybe I can’t speak for everyone but I find nothing wrong with this kind of stuff

@Connor Garrett I was more meaning, if you think about it. He is one of the very few GOOD gods. Not trying to control humanity at every turn like his siblings or father, even assisting the dragons he once hunted! He saw Gwyn for what he was and left, still caring enough to at least return and leave sunlight blade at his coffin as a "Goodbye".
The only other good one would probably be Priscilla. She just got thrown in a painting because turns out as ds2 often shows FTH (Gwynevere)+INT (Seath)= Hex's/Occult, and Gwyn ain't having ANY of that occult in his family. I say she is good as she seems to act as a caretaker for the painting, helping the forlorn find rest.

This whole album is so stunning and dark from start to ending. But i doubt i,ve ever been so hypnotised by the opening song and brought down by the ending of an EP.

Oh my gosh! The moment I heard this on the album I KNEW, I KNEW it was about Faith (yes, the name is "Have Faith" but still), the music has the that 8-bit thing going on in the background like in the game and UGH I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!
Coming here in celebration of Faith Chapter 3 coming out and the story being completed. After hearing My Church, I wanted to hear the other dark southern song made by my favorite band, and that was how I was introduced to the Faith series. Not only does this song bop, it introduced me to one of my favorite horror games, so thank you, Aviators!

This reminds me of a combination of Godhunter and The Longest Road, both of which are bops 😳😳😳 Seriously though, it’s my favorite song of the album. The guitar is just wonderful and incredibly emotional, and the vocals are too. It communicates the idea of trying to stay hopeful in a dark situation, devoid of hope otherwise. Thanks for this one man!

You spoil us with so many new songs on UA-cam like this in such short order. Also sometimes the songs and stories that go differently than we expected really add flavor to the mix.
This song like masks also offers some interesting food for thought regarding what it means to have faith, and getting at how faith requires action on our part, not just belief. Though what those actions are is really important.
