One thing I like, that the bag for extensions and top seems to be not so long as known from Bose.
Hi. I need to know if i can connect a mixer to the Maui.
I wonder if i can plug my acoustic guitar to my Aer amp and line out to the mixer and from the mixer to the Maui.
The micro for the voice goes to a Tc helicon voicelive pedal to the mixer too. But i do not know if i have conexions to do this configuration.
In short, two XLR from mixer to Maui. Is it posible?
Thanks
Yes, you would plug the main output of your sub-mixer into the two XLR/Neutrik combo line inputs on the back of the Maui.
My duo partner and I use Fishman Loudbox Mini's that we line out into a PA. Can I do that with the Maui 5?
I don't believe the Maui 5 has an additional line out to feed to another PA. Its designed to be a self-contained unit.
MAUI 5 has no outputs. But the built in mixer is not the best, so I would use another mixer
I think about using this speaker together with an external subwoofer (active, 12") and to feed the MAUI 5 or a pair of MAUI 5 with frequencies above 100 Hz.
Would I use a MAUI 11 instead, what advantages could it have?
You can certainly use a separate 12” sub with the MAUI 5. You would have to use a sub that had a crossover built in as many do. You would send the line level signal from your source to the SUB first (cross over at 100HZ) then go out to the MAUI 5.
The MAUI 11 is a step up in power and frequency range in that it uses 8 mid drivers vs 4… and 2 x 6.5” woofers vs 1 x 8”. It also has a high frequency driver whereas the M5 does not.

That's exactly what I planned.

When I could listen to the M5, I couldn't notice a lack in high frequencies.
But I guess, they sell M11 and M28 much cheaper, because the new G versions will be delivered soon and then, the M11 is much more expensive.
Can it pair with an other unit in tws mode for real stereo left/right sound!?
It does not have a stereo linking feature so you’d have to use a small mixer and then have the left output go into one unit and the right into another.
Can a battery be added to it ? Thanks
LD Systems does not make a battery for this.
Hi how do you connect this to a tv?
It depends on the audio output your TV has but the easiest way would be to use a dual RCA (from TV) to 1/8th inch (3.5mm) cable to the 1/8th inch MP3 input of the Maui 5.
where do I buy this in DUBAI?
Sorry, we are not a dealer and don’t have an answer for you. Please contact the manufacturer.
I was looking at these for my duo, we use backing tracks and electric guitar plus 2 vocals. Would this give us the volume we get out of our Mackie dlm8 x2 and 12s bass bin? Its a lot of money to spend just to find its no good as we don't have a dealer near us so we can demo one.
We've never heard the Mackie dlm8 so we aren't at liberty to comment. Your best bet would be to contact the US distributor as I'm sure they can help you. TrainingSnacks just created the overview video, we don't sell the product. www.musicaldistributors.com/support/
Cool
There are'nt two identical spacers, one is the battery, next is the spacer, and the speaker on top
There's no battery. This unit requires AC electricity.
Does the MAUI 5 include something in the microphone input, comparable with Bose L1 compact's tone match presets?
Rob, the Maui 5 does not have any microphone processing like the Bose L1 Tone Match. However, the Bose L1 with a Tone Match is three times more expensive as this unit.
Not really.
MAUI 5 in a bundle with bags is about 600 EUR.
Bose L1 compact is between 850 and 950 EUR.
MAUI 5 has 2/3 of Bose price.
But feel free to show me a MAUI 5 with bags sold for 330 EUR.
But at least, this MAUI 5 is pretty good, I could imagine to use it for my keyboard and my fellow musician can use my Bose L1 compact for his parts only.
Oh, you did not mention Compact. You just said L1. The Tone Match system alone is $450 USD which is why I was confused. Compact only has two channels of Tone Match which are not flexible. There are only 2 presets, one for acoustic guitar and one for microphone. If you use a quality entry microphone, such as a Sennheiser E835, the Maui 5 will sound great.
I said "comparable with Bose L1 compact's tone match presets" and mend the two channels.
Could listen to a MAUI 5 and was surprised, that the bass is much lower. Ok, the sound is a bit different, more warm, than clearly, but ok.
I think about using a MAUI 5 for my keyboard, so that the guitar player can use my Bose L1 compact for his parts only.
Don't buy a non battery powered Maui 5 if you require a dedicated output to connect to another Maui or any other speaker. I assumed that it would have a dedicated XLR or jack output like its competition but it's only available on the Maui 5 GO and Maui 5 go 100. What a terrible limitation unless you are happy to use an external mixer to hook up two Maui 5s for stereo operation.
Thanks for the heads-up, although at this price point it's hard to argue for more features.
@@Trainingsnacks even speakers cheaper than the Maui 5 have at least a dedicated jack output if it's not XLR. If you use an external mixer with a pair of non battery powered Maui 5s then it's much less of an issue. Saying that, if you only plan to use the Maui 5 on its own and want to send its signal to a larger main system, then you're commonalty out of luck! I stupidly didn't check the specs properly and realised this limitation once I got it home. Thankfully I was able to sell it and get my money back which I then put towards a Maui 5 GO. I've now also added a Maui 5 GO 100 for stereo operation and it's a fabulous lightweight, compact and great looking system that really packs a great punch for its size!
@@madness8556 We totally get it. Thanks for the clarification. Glad you got a system that fits your needs.
Probably good for playing music but not powerful enough for a singer with tracks
You'd be surprised. I would demo one yourself before coming to that conclusion. Depends on the size of the room you're playing.
too bad it doesn't have phontom power
We agree, it would've been great to be able to use condenser microphones.
Let
Because of this video, I bought one of this, and find out this is abusolutly garbage, feed back cacelling do not perform like this video at all, very poor horizontal and vertical coverage, no high frequency extension at all, I guess this 3 inch speaker goes upto 10-12khz at the most.
You can see us do it honestly in the video. Not sure why it's not working for you unless they changed the cabinet design (the video is over 5 years old). As for the quality, it is a relatively inexpensive item considering what it is and usually with pro audio you get what you pay for. That being said, we found the system great for the value at the time of the review. Also note, we get no compensation for the sale of this item so it's of no value of us to trick people in our video. Our suggestion would be to contact their customer support. www.ld-systems.com/en/support/
