It's very good that we have a wide variety of game modes since in Superstars there was only the minigame island, but this led to the minigames being divided while in Superstars all the minigames were focused on the Mario Party mode. In my opinion they should have brought more retro games to increase the number of minigames
great video. I noticed that too, it's a shame that we cant play the Koopathlon, survivatlhon, rythim and bowser's kaboom squad on party mode. At least they should include adapted versions for it. That's 38 minigames. Not to mention the jamboree minigames and boss minigames are rare and specific, so in the end you won't see all them that often, which makes the pool even smaller
Jamboree minigames aren't that rare. There's only 10 of them. Pro mode parties (12 turns only) generally see 2 of them if you can reach the one that spawns roughly on the 10th turn. Bigger parties can get up to 5 buddies per game (30 turns) Play every board on 20 turns and you might see some of them 5 times, and probably will have seen every one of them at least once. (Except Rosalina if you disable motion minigames, or any other character that's being played in the game itself)
You would think they could modify those minigames. For example, with the bowser minigame where he chases players, you could easily adapt that to be 4 players running away from bowser. Or you could easily adapt the koopathlon minigames to where each player has their own corner of the screen playing those minigames and see who gets the most coins within a time limit. Each coin could count as 1 point but the red coins could count as 3 points. I really enjoyed those minigames too. Wish they were in the main mode
@BigSpoonGaming I think the best solution is just importing about 20-30 more old minigames. They're easier to make, they generally have an idea which ones are popular and which ones of those haven't been reused that often.
@@BigSpoonGaming Yeah even the coop and rhythm minigames could be adapted to versions where 4 players compete against each other in main party mode. Rhythm minigames could appear in main party mode when motion minigames are turned on and they could simply be when you get the timing right you get points and whichever player gets most points wins. From kaboom squat match that item could have 4 player variant where whichever player gets the right item first gets more points. Same thing with look this way could be 4 player version where whichever player looks the right direction first gets more points.
For me 110 minigames in the main party mode would be ideal amount of minigames where it would be plenty without feeling like its too little or too repetitive. More would always be welcome of course but 110 total in main party mode could be 50 free for all, 20 2v2, 20 1v3, 5 bowser minigames(those would count towards free for all which would be technically 45 free for all not counting bowser minigames which is still plenty), 5 item minigames,15 duel minigames. Superstars is almost at this but the only types of minigames where it feels like its not enough is duel minigames. So superstars has 100 minigames and if it had 15 duel minigames instead of 5 then it would be 110 and would have great amount of minigames from all categories.
-while the minigames in the VS space are the same as the free for all ones you can actually get the 5 boss minigames of the party planner trek, increasing the Number from 63 to 68 tho they are rare. -you didn't mention the biggest thing: 15 of the 68 minigames in the main mode use the joycon motion controls (7 four player + the rosalina buddy minigame, 2 1vs3, 3 2vs2, 1 duel and 1 item) so if you don't want to use them because they have joycon drift, feel more comfortable with the pro controller or play with the switch lite you go from 68 to 53. -this is a nitpick but for the most accurate ranking you could have counted 6/7 minigames with the mic ones excluded and the 8 player ones included, also superstars has 2 returning bowser minigames which for some reason are included in the 4 player roster.
Its kind of unfair for jamboree to compare it to superstars in terms of minigames because none of them are new they are all taken from previous mario party games so of course they will be more
It feels a bit too repetitive, probably a lot once the game stops being fresh. What also doesn't help (imo) is that (especially if you turn motion minigames off) a lot of minigames we do get are a bit too similar. Of those 29 free for all minigames, there's five endless survival minigames. They all play out differently, but don't feel that different. These minigames also take far too long to finish. They're not that tough, so you're likely to be forced to wait out the full timer for it once you got them. The unique minigames, in the game's standards, are mostly already done in earlier games too, but that isn't too bad as long as the game is enjoyable. Which is the case for domination for me, but not for granite getaway. Jamboree could've used a bit faster pacing and a few more minigames as well. The game advertising itself to have the most amount of minigames, then spending most of them in modes you'll barely play and keeping a generally low amount of minigames in party mode feels cheap At least the boards are mostly really good though
Good video but you did not need to read out how many of each minigame type was in each game, it’s ok to just show each picture on screen for a bit
Yeah the point was already made after showing the 4 player, 1v3 and 2v2 minigames. Reading out every number after that just felt like a waste of time

Jamboree claiming it has the most is a stretch when half of them arent play able in the majn mode

When turning of motion controls the minigame selection is jamboree lowkey SUCKS
I agree, idk why there's still so many motion controlled mini games especially after the backlash from super Mario party
This + pacing is why i went with superstars.

Lowkey I agree with the title already

Yes, well said!
Jamboree needs a dlc or a free update with more minigames even if it's remasters from superstars. And the I can say it's the best mario party.
That would be amazing. I wouldn't mind seeing some more retro minigames brought back to help add more variety
