Love this piece! My band had so much fun with it in highschool. I specifically remember our piano player rubbing his eyes when he first saw that part at 1:30!
That Oboe player really gets into it
They're amazing!!!!!!!!! 5 stars!!!! My middle school symphonic band played spoon river and it wasn't nearly that fast!
***** FYI .. I'm in a middle school band and we had played Salvation is Created and Longford Legend yesterday for UIL. Our band is made up of 7th graders (like me) and 8th graders. We had got straight 1s from all judges. So, yes a middle school can appreciate such pieces. Just because we're young doesn't mean we don't have emotion in our pieces.
***** There's an easier version and much slower obviously.
I'm from Rice Middle School, and we recently won the Sousa Cup. We're playing this song, and we are a varsity band. I'm in 8th grade, and just because we go to a middle school, that doesn't mean we can successfully play this song for UIL.
This sounds just like how my symphonic band played it when I was in high school. The memories
I love this song and I get the privilege of playing it this year!!
i really like this song a lot, but i find it suprising, because my sister played this in her middle school band, and won the state competition with it hehe
It can be made easier so those like in middle school can play it. Also, you can search up other versions and hear what I’m talking about 😳
Excellent!
Conducting is spot on
I like the way the director conducts. Lol just sayin.
I wish I knew how to play the flute (or a fife). The melody would probably sound so fun on a wooden fife
