They took K-15 going south of Mulvane. This was the direct route to the house I grew up in during the 80s/90s. I am always in awe when they stop in front of the big white house. One because that shot is AMAZING. But also because the cameraman's back is directly facing my childhood home. This house is what I saw every time I walked out my front door.
Fantastic absolutely fantastic. A tornado vid post with a bit of everything Lightning, Thunder, Rainbow, of course Tornado. What more could you ask for 🌪
This was an amazing tornado to chase, I was on this one myself. The cell kept recycling for a while, I think we chased for 5 different tornadoes in it. Very photogenic. The rainbow, the lack of precipitation with it, just beautiful. It hooked me on chasing.
Dennis Sphatt he means the lack of a high precipitation mode. supercells have 3 modes - low precip, classic, and high precip. regardless of what mode they start in, the stronger, cyclical storms that tend to produce multiple tornadoes, as this one did, almost always become high precip when going through their strengthening trends. the fact that this one kept a mostly rain-free base throughout multiple tornadoes is pretty astounding. the majority of tornadoes are a weak contrast mess. to get one photogenic tornadoes is good, to get several all from one storm is fantastic in my book.
The fact that a rainbow shone next to a tornado meant that it was RAINING next to the tornado because of the summer sun shining on the storm's RAINING backside. People were born with eyes to see and ears to hear. That's why this is not disputable. Shove your dystopian science. SHOVE IT.
Mulvane and Rock - two of the most photogenic tornadoes of all time!!! I wish I had been old enough to chase in 2004. That was an amazing chase season.

It is said that tornados thrive in sunlight. Mulvane also had an unusual rope tornado on June 20th, 1942, I think. It was odd looking and three people were killed by it.
AW shucks, our family moved from Mulvane in October of '95', we missed it. But the we now live north of Jefferson City, Mo and saw the major damage the flood and tornado did to that city.
I remember seeing pictures of this in old calendars and books, and throughout 14 years of wondering, I finally get an answer of whether or not that house was destroyed..
Yes, the white house was not hit by the tornado. Eric and I went back and gave them a copy of his famous photo. www.mesoscale.ws/04-documents/040612.htm
É Muito incrivél destrui casas em pedacinhos belo tornado junto ao arco-íres e belas filmagens tá de parabéns, e tem também várias fotos desse belo tornado é só colocar no google imagens assim: 2004 tornado eric nguyen.

No, this storm definitely had precipitation in it, obviously.

@@Religious_man Someone sounds salty that they can't compete with facts with their fairy tales.
