You hear people say all the time, "Bodybuilders aren't strong. They have pretty muscles, full of water. etc." But, my God: 150 lbs dumbbells in each hand?? Incredible strength.
These legendary grand masters always just drop little gems like its nothing..lol. The "tiny incline on your flat" is another gem that just slapped my face.. Makes total sense..
Shauns a beast. Great video. Love the emphasis on intensity while focusing on form and feeling the muscle you are trying to work. Really shows why guys like Shaun are at the elite level. Perfecting the basics can go a long ways.
Man, everytime I watch your videos I always learn something new and I get Incredibly motivated to go hit the gym, and seeing Shaun In action was awesome aswell, I've become a huge fan John!
This reminds me of the King of the Hill episode where Bill goes to the supplement store and eventually trains with Macho Man Randy Savage at the gym. I say this because of all the grunting. Good times.
And Shaun regained the title in Dec 2022! A tribute and honor to his coach (and ours too) John Meadows. I cried when Flex Wheeler was interviewing Shaun after the win and mentioned John Meadows passing away. RIP mountaindog. I miss you dearly.
Dude said “liiight weight”!!!! He’ll yea… John you need to mentor some guys to be like you on the training side and expand, you have sooo much knowledge
That is some hard core ish right there .. working out in a barn when it's 90+ degrees. Only saw some kids who are probably getting ready for football season. No daisies sitting on benches txting. Was feeling a bit shorted, as the thumbnail said 'chest and shoulders'. Doing shoulders after that ... wow. Waiting for the video to drop.
Hi John what a competitor Shaun is and comes across as a really nice guy, those 150’s were nearly as big as Shaun! Great information and thank you for providing it. Very best wishes. Jim Harrison. Cheshire. UK.
Hi John, Awesome video! Great work out, you both looked really strong! Really looking forward to the shoulder workout. Big thank you for making the video. Cheers, Billy
Hi John good content as always a good old school chest schedule of exercises Arnold and Franco would be proud of you can't wait to see the shoulder schedule of exercises stay safe and healthy
He literally pressed 170s for 10 or 12 reps on a slight incline a while ago. Pound for pound hands down one of the strongest bodybuilders on the planet.
@@Benjamin-w41 I’m not downplaying how much of a tank he is but u generally find this with shorter bodybuilders. For example Franco Columbo was renowned for being pound for pound strongest bodybuilder in his time. Like a 700lb+ deadlift at sub 200lbs and that was in the 70s.
maybe not inhuman, i can get reps with the 120's and i weigh bout 165, and yep his stage weight is 180ish but here in this vid he isn't stage ready and is probably sitting at about 220ish
Yall workin hard this day. Make me near about feel weak. Lol. It goes a long way having a motivational workout partner. I've always worked out with my dad and I love him to death, but he is always so overly worried about hurting himself that he ends up being kind of a downer. I definitely believe in not hurting yourself, but you can get so paranoid because of past injuries that you limit yourself too much. Dad always quits about the time his working set starts kicking in. I just wish he'd like tap into that man beast mode a little bit and instead of saying "be careful, don't hurt yourself", he'd say "screw your pain! Lift that weight up son!" I just know he'd start seeing more of the results he wants if he would have that mentality a little more. And he wouldn't hurt himself either because he has always had impeccable form.
Being sweaty when working out is what I do! .. I have to wear a bandana, or I risk my sweat short circuiting my headphones. Putting on the bandana has become quite a ritual every morning, before hitting the gym though. So that helps

Shaun’s set on the pec flyes: Olympia level effort!!
Shauns a beast. Great video. Love the emphasis on intensity while focusing on form and feeling the muscle you are trying to work. Really shows why guys like Shaun are at the elite level. Perfecting the basics can go a long ways.

Great video John, I'm so happy to see you so strong and healthy after last year scare. Shaun is one of my favorite bodybuilder
Man that workout was beast, especially knowing that it was hot is a whole another level
Rest in peace John, we love you.
The heat gets pretty brutal in the barn but I feel like I get a better workout when it’s like that. Looking forward to the shoulder video!
Honestly this video reminds me of the old Ronnie videos. Awesome energy and work ethic 🔥
John Meadows, not just the coach but the workout partner. Respect
I love when Shaun meets with uncle John, ultra sayan mode is always ON
Shaun is a beast. The 315 on incline was impressive. He is very smooth. Im all over the bench when the weight goes up, but he is a pro.
Damn. Did he just do 10@150?!! Man. I think inspirational is like an understatement. 🔥

Shaun strength is unreal ....🤯
Simple and brutal
No BS ❤️
Super good video quality!
Thanks!
The quality!!!
So much good energy
Love it John
Those 150s are just as brutal as Shaun himself.
3:06 Shaun's strength is inhuman, the dudes stage weight is like around 180 and he's pressing 150s, doesn't make any sense
he is a beast. I can barely do 2 reps with 150 and I am 254 lbs (around 22% bodyfat, dont laugh at me lol)
He literally pressed 170s for 10 or 12 reps on a slight incline a while ago. Pound for pound hands down one of the strongest bodybuilders on the planet.

My gym the same way they refuse to turn the AC on. Leaving like pissed myself
Insane chest workout
Crazy question John. Where did ya get those shorts??? I like mine longer, at the knees like those. Awesome vid as usual 👍🏽

2:07 30 Degrees is the angle they say works upper chest more effective for incline bench like he said "Quarter under the bench"
‘’You don’t wanna just jump from 40’s to 130’s.’ No worries, John!
Beast mode💪🏽
