    Hey, HomeBoy, dats a pretty cool vid. Ya'll must smoke a fat one before filming! But just a few comments, the T30 coil bolt is a "Torx" head, FYI. For your plugs, the gap will be .036" to .050", depending on your model year, and make/model of plugs. While showing the front Driver's side is easy, I'd like to see the one by the battery done, also. I can't even get access to the coil bolt, with the huge wire harness in the way. So I'll be yanking the battery / box out and trying again.
    Last thing is, your passenger side coils are "wrong" ! Though I assume they work and the car runs good. I recognized them as the same in my 2004 Seville. The 2004 Sevilles and 2004-05 DeVilles used those cream-colored top coils with connectors that break easily. (Believe me, I know). I later bought a 2006 STS V8 like yours and all the coils are black like your driver's side.
    Peace

      @@oxmanagain , yeah, man, be careful with those passenger side coils and connectors. They are poorly designed. There are tiny tabs on the coil sticks that break easily, that the connectors snap into. Also the connectors will break easy, esp. as they are all old now. I hope to pull my battery tomorrow and maybe the tray also. I cannot get at the last coil Torx with that HUGE wire loom next to it, and the loom next to the battery, there's no "wiggle room". Later

      @@captainamerica9353 yeah sometimes I really hate the engineers, I don't think they care at all how easy it is to get to an area.

    • @captainamerica9353
      @captainamerica9353 4 роки тому +3

      @@oxmanagain , yes but they have to deal with the designers and model year changes. Still certain things should be better thought out for service. I removed the battery but one of the tray bolts was corroded so couldn't get the tray out. Got the screw out with a 1/4" drive finally. I have a 2006 with 110,000 miles, and since the tranny fluid was apparently never changed (did that last year after buying it) I figured the plugs would be old, too. Yeah they were nasty, OEM Delco's - I'm sure the originals.

    Thank you so much for this video.
    I have the 05' STS 4.6 AWD. I have 165,000 miles on it and I had a series of codes come up. Initially, I had the cam and crank codes come up with the random misfire code. When I cleared the codes, those didn't come back. I'm in NC. We experienced the gas shortage and could only get regular unleaded. The car hasn't run right since. I have replaced the MAP Sensor, MAS, new plugs (my ignition coils have the white tops- 1st generation), air filter and the throttle body. Due to mileage and it throwing the initial codes, I am going to change the Camshaft Position Sensor and the Crankshaft Position Sensor. The random misfire P0300 is the only code coming up right now. Any ideas from my information and do you know of any videos that will help me? I am a 52 yr old woman and I am slightly mechanically inclined. I've done several of these things myself. By watching the videos, I won't be able to do the crankshaft position sensor on my own, but I'm wondering if I can do the camshaft position sensor. This car seems to be a little different than the others.

    • @oxmanagain
      @oxmanagain  6 років тому

      If the car is cranking but won't start I would make sure you're getting fuel and the battery is good. Do a compression test or you can spray starter fluid in the intake and see if it starts. Then, next I would concentrate on the ignition system. Let me know the outcome.

    hey i was just wanting to know if you could help me out? i have a 2005 cadillac sts v8 and all of a sudden i started to hear knocking sounds when i accelerate. Do you think this is due to different oil i had put in or the gas? ps i had 5w 40 put instead of 5w 30 because of the miles on my car which it has 111,000. Thank you in advance

    • @oxmanagain

      +Jose Olvera the oil could have something to do with it, plus you might want to make sure you have the proper amount of oil also.On my last change I didn't put in enough and I heard a knocking. My problem was fixed by me added the right amount of oil. I hope that helps.

    • @oxmanagain
