This is one of ma fav "when pop was fun"-tracks. Nice, melancholic chord-progressions, punchy simmons-drums and a fantastic voice from Kim. And a nice mock-up from you!
I had never heard of this artist until just now. Apparently I have some music sleuthing to do! Even taken for itself, the cover is all the amazing I would expect from you, Mr. Jensen. 👍
Thank you, yeah... I guess this is why my heart belongs in the 80s. Keeps going back to it every time when I listen to most of the Top charts these days. ;)
This is wonderful! There is no more musical and romantic music than pop synthpop and new wave music from the 80s, apart from symphonic classical, instrumental, and other serious music of course. The melodiousness of this period is beyond competition at all times! And of course, the overall meaningfulness of the concept, this music as a whole, is striking. Its simplicity and deep fullness! This applies to cinema, and to many other works of that time ...
It is wonderful! 🎉 I did believe that you somehow obtained the original vocal track up until I read the description. The instrumental part is so close to the original at times I was unable to tell the difference. Bravo, Anders! Greetings from Ukraine 💙💛
Thank you! Glad to hear that! It’s the only way for us mortals. Tick Beato on the other hand, has connections so he can get the good stuff. 😂 Hope current affairs in your country resolves for the better quickly. It’s an atrocity and no way to stop the madness! 😢 Best wishes frol Norway! 🤘🏼
@@AndersEngerJensen Thank you Anders! We appreciate all the tremendous amount of help Norway providing to Ukraine from the first days of our defense against terroRussia. Some of the Norwegian "instruments" are saving lives of our sleeping citizens every night, shooting down russian missiles over our cities. We'll never forget it, friends. Thank you, Norway!💙💛
@@AndersEngerJensen If you will ever consider another Kim Wilde iconic song for cover, please do her song Cambodia. The richness and variety of synth chords there is mind-blowing!
Guten Abend Herr Anders Enger Jensen!Sie haben wirklich ein goldenes Händchen, was die Auswahl der Kim - Hits, sowie ihrer Umsetzung betrifft!Applauswürdig.🎵🎵🎵🎵👍👍👍👍
Well that’s incredible! If I’d heard that without realising it was your own version, I’d have just assumed it was the original! I remember this was one of the first songs I tried to recreate, using just my newly acquired Ensoniq ESQ’1 in 1988 when this was a new song. You can imagine how that sounded 💩👎😂
Hehe, glad to hear you liked it. Nice that I managed to make it so close to the original. 🤓 We have all been there, working our way up from novices to advanced, you should hear my early stuff from the late 80s/early 90s… 🙈🙈😂
Thanks, Anders. I do vaguely remember this from the '80s, but not one I really knew. Sounds pretty authentically 80s! I'd be interested to know how you did the "masking" that surrounded each of the clips in this. I just uploaded a video myself yesterday, of an original boogie-woogie, but in a Minor key, and using mostly synth sounds, if anyone's interested. It's over on my own channel. Cheers, Anders, and keep up the great work.
Thanks! 😊 Do you mean the graphics and placing of the various clips playing the parts? Simple sizing down/moving the clips around, sometimes cropping left/right/top/bottom and then adding a layer or two of colour which is then cropped sideways/top/bottom to form stripes. 🤓
@@AndersEngerJensen Yeah, it was the "Stripes" I was talking about. I've done it before by making up a frame in Photoshop and importing it into PowerDirector, but I bet there's better (and quicker) ways than that.
Nice edit Anders. I think you were a little bit too enthusiastic with the 16th highhats at the end of every beat in the chorus. But in general I'm a big fan of all your work. Thanks!
Thanks. Well, the point of this version is to make it a little different than the original because what’s the point of recreating her original 1:1? The 16th beat rhythm is the signature I wanted to embellish.
Maybe I’ll do some more, but all the good ones I like already sounds great so I have to carefully choose the songs and how I treat them. I usually like to beef them up a little more and add more flair. Then there’s the question if they cause copyright takedowns/strikes or just demonetization. Some are stricter than others. ;)
@@AndersEngerJensen Just tried this with "Paola & Chiara - A modo Mio" (video link below) - very good result. Except there are a few artefacts, but i think it's mostly a problem because "mp3" was the Original-File ... 🙈 There a few "left-overs" of the "finger-snippets" (with the gated reverb on it) in the Vocal track. "KI-crosstalk" you might say... 😁 Nevertheless, the Ballad "A Modo Mio" is a composition and arrangement worth listening to. (Not to speak of the nearly perfect Voices of the Sisters... 😉). Not quite sure what you’re asking for… if someone else did a mix and hid it in my mix? 🤷🏼♂️🤪 I did everything myself by hand, listening to the original and building it block by block. Adding my own flair to it. 🤓
Anders, could you please inform what makes that bass sound on the repeated A note at the end? I need to find/make a sound similar to that but can't map it to any other synth sound that I know.
Hehe, well… it is tempting, but alas. I haven’t that much time on hand with family and daily work, and these how to videos are very demanding (I tend to spend weeks on it). I have some other stuff planned, but we’ll see what time will show. It’s easier to make music and subsequently videos to those (albeit, filming these videos you see here takes at least a few days if not more). :)
@@AndersEngerJensen AAAHHH!!! Excuses excuses.Quit teasing, or are you just paranoid that Espen might embarass you. lol Next you'll be delegating your workflow videos to Espen in the hope that he "could" do a better job. Come on man, you're more than capable. 😁

Het was idd lekker, zoals we in Nederland zeggen.
this is amazing. Kim would abs love it.
Kim Wilde is one of the most underrated talents of the 80s. Glad you picked one of her biggest hits up.
Not underrated at all.
Underrated, hell no. Everyone who lived that age knows her :)
I was born 2002 and I love Kim Wilde's music
@@TrueNeutralEvGenius was starting to write the same. Why should she be underrated? In my mind she's a big part of the 80s.
She was the biggest selling female artist of the 80s in the UK
Amazing work, 👍 a very PWL inspired production. Good to hear in 2024
Great ! Thanks ! trop bon - synthé et tout merci
Every time you do these remixes, you just bring them up to the next level. Love your work as always.
What a beautiful remake of a wonderful original song by a truly sweet young innocent sweet lady
