This is one of the best interviews with BMTH that I've seen. The interviewer/questions really got the guys to open up and give some thorough answers. Well done!
Sounds like you're the one who needs a hobby because you're not even replying to their comments you're just being a creep telling me to get a hobby TF am I not aloud to read comments?
He's spot on about religion. As an atheist myself I don't care if you're Christian, Muslim, Hindu, or whatever......but, when your beliefs start affecting others when it comes to things like abortion, gay marriage, teaching creationism in public school then you have crossed the line and I will care.
Bucboy1001 teaching creationism is good thing. Its teaching to be moral, to love your opponents, its not teaching anything bad. The world is going down because people arent studying Gods word, Gods manual that he gave to the man. I'm gonna get a lot of shit 4 what I said but its true. And really theres a lot of evidence that God exist. I wont be arguing with any1 son theres no need to reply on my comment. Have a wonderful day given by God
+TheGiovus95 As a believer, I can say that I dont believe that anyone or anything can fully convince you or prove that God exists. Its a personal thing. You want to be assured that God is real. You wouldnt be the first. But I dont think it works that way. I am not a priest, scholar, or anyone for that matter. I am just a guy who was raised in a christian household. A guy who realized at a relatively young age that my parents were not perfect. I realized that the things they taught me concerning religious dogma, were flawed. Im not going to pollute this comment with scriptures, or dogma. I believe that is where it all went wrong. God doesn't need a book to connect with you. I for one am not going to explain my reasons for believing in God. Its personal. As it should be for all those that seek Him. The issues that you see with most christians, (at least those the media covers) is abortion, gay marriage, etc... If we are to believe, (even just the parts that are obviously morally sound), anything the bible, or the teachings of Jesus has to say, it should be this... Judge not. The media is going to continually show you the "crazies", and omit the ones that are helping EVERYBODY in anyway they can. Muslims, Jews, Atheist, Hindu, Pagan.... does not matter. Who are we to judge anyone? I would say to you sir, that if you seek God, you will not find him by reading the bible or going to church. Both have been corrupted. Some parts of the bible and some church's may help you with your questions. But none of them will absolutely make your belief concrete. You will find Him in yourself. You are the only person who can reassure your faith or lack there of.
I listen to a lot of bands and there are atheists in them, and even though I'm Catholic and believe that God is out there, I'm not going to automatically hate him because he doesn't believe in it. He can believe whatever he wants to believe because I'm not offended and it's not like he's causing problems.
Deathbound Child me too. I'm Christian and go to church like every week and absolutely love bands like this. I'm cool with theses songs and they don't change my beliefs or anything, I just like listening to these songs.
Deathbound Child I love the band sure and can appreciate their opinion, however for them to claim that having a belief in god has a roll-on effect, I would disagree. It isn't the belief in God that directs people to war or to victimise their brethren or followers etc.. it isn't a belief in God that causes people to become involved in literally all the corrupt aspects revolving around religions. Religion like any pack-mentality be it Atheism, Muslim, Catholicism, Capitalism, Cults or whatever else it typically comes down to groupings of people following other PEOPLE or documented words from other PEOPLE. Yet the Gods of these religions cop the flack even though it's the people claiming to be their prophets or leaders etc that are the medium between calling the shots. To vilify a person for their beliefs in God stating that their belief in something the aggressor does not believe to be real is no different than any other roll-on negative effects of discrimination. Do I think it causes problems when a heavily influential singer of a popular band advocates that it is wrong for parents to impart their belief in God (not in man or religion). Kinda, yea I mean how can that action be considered to have no negative effects when it is targeting a misappropriated demographic labelling their freedom to believe in God as wrong. Belief systems aside the album was fkn awesome and I'm hopeful their next full album will be good too.. unlike.. the single.. Drown.
Or take advantage of people who are struggling to pull more members into your way of thinking. Basically shoving it down their throats still, but a little more covertly.
@@mrmister9860 he was asked about religion, and gave his opinion of it. Goddamn, I'm glad my beliefs aren't so fragile that someone not sharing them gets me into a fucking tizzy.
What Oli said about parents raising their kids to believe in whatever religion they believe in is spot on. I've always asked people why they are a 'christian' or a 'muslim' and its not because they made an informed choice after considering all the evidence, they believe because their parents indoctrinated them. We look up to our parents as our idols and it is natural to believe everything they say, which is why a secular education is an absolute must for children. If you want to believe in a god or certain religion, that's fine, but please do so after making an informed opinion.
I went out and educated myself. I personally was raised as Christian, but I was fed up with a lot of the overly religious zealots hanging around in church and I never ended up getting baptised like my mom had promised, so I said, "Fuck it," and decided to go out and find something else. After considering a lot of religions, I settled on practicing Paganism for a while and then after that I just decided to be an Atheist. I made all of these decisions based off weighing pros and cons and getting educated myself. My family thinks I have some screws loose but I'm just questioning everything
Austin Pond Personally, I've been raised a Christian, and my parents definitely had an influence, but over time I've questioned my beliefs and still settled on the same conclusion: I believe Jesus is God. In response to claims about religion hurting others, it's true that there have been wars caused by clashes of religious believers, just as Communism was an example of extreme atheism, forcing others to surrender their beliefs. I'm sincerely sorry for the harm that has been done in the name of religion, but I think any belief can have a negative impact. Just as religious believers can rely too much on God to make stuff happen in their life, so can atheists shoulder too much of a burden. However, I respect the rights of atheists to question and challenge my beliefs. Hope you have a good life, Austin :)
+Austin Pond You hit the nail on the head. I was forcibly baptized when I was 8, and I denounced religion when I was 15, and further backed my decision as I grew older. I love how Christians are allowed to be offended by Atheists, but we can't be offended by their denominations and their viewpoints.
***** No. Because secularism isn't a belief in itself. I grew up in an atheist household, but my parents never forced anything on me and let me discover things for myself.
I am Catholic. And hearing songs like “House Of Wolves” (which I love) but understanding the lyrics is another thing. Definitely makes me question things, however I still hold onto that faith. or like “Crooked Young” about parental expectations in pressuring their children into believing in religion is certainly a harsh reality that comes, and leaves children scared. “Crucify Me” is one of my favorite songs, “there’s nothing above, there is nothing below, heaven and hell lives in all of us” is such a good lyric, as it shows us to better ourselves without God having us cower due to our actions, in you holding yourself accountable. A most definite great message, that I agree with. Not to mention that yes; religion has had one of the most negative affects on the world, and that’s it’s certainly won. Everywhere you go you’ll see a religious symbol. Another thing is that you can interpret Oli’s lyrics to a lot of things that are held personal to you. Which is what I love about their music, songs, sounds. They make you hear, see, *fix*, and feel lol. Thanks for listening to my Ted talk 😭
I think Oli's opinion on religion is a good one and everyone can think what he or she wants. He is basically just saying 'help yourself because nobody's gonna help you' which is a good message to stand up for yourself!
I am a Christian, but I'm one of those chill ones that definitely won't shove my beliefs down their throats! You're most certainly right about how people will stand up for themselves differently!! It's interesting to think about and that's alright!! People do indeed have free will!!
yes i am catholic but not really strict and i think no matter what religion you have you can think what you want (except if you are trying to hurt people with your beliefs) and yes it is great to have a free will and to make up your own mind about topics in life!!
I love the point they were making about religion. When you raise kids to think they need to be good because they might go to hell if they're not what's gonna happen when they realize they don't believe in it?
"we got some 12,13 year olds listening to our music like, they don't listen to it just because they think it's cool, they actually know the lyrics and like the band" tHATS ME
+Ruth “Exsugarbabe” Barr Me too, glad I don't have parents shoving anything down my throat and linda letting me explore for myself (and atheist is the only way to go really, religion is pretty much only bs)
KatTheCaptain I encourage my kids to be different from me but we all have similar views so in this case the fruit isn't falling far from thee tree. I still have an interest in religion and debate with street preachers, I don't get anywhere but it's very interesting.
Funny he said linkin park as a main influence for him, was listening to Empire (Let Them Sing) by BMTH and at 3:00 I just could believe how much he sounded like Chester Bennington. May be a coincidence or maybe even me, either way I loved it hah.
Don't agree with his thoughts on Christianity or religion in general, but he's free to his opinion on what he views. He's a good man, honest, talented, insightful, and plain attractive. But I gotta say, fan girls can be a good thing and bad thing. Enjoy them, just don't let them overwhelm you and make you go softer.
I agree with Trevor. I don't agree with Oliver but he has a right to an opinion as anyone else. I love Bring Me The Horizon and I am a Christian. I don't hate them because of what they believe, I just disagree and that's alright. I still respect them.
One thing as a christian myself im not going to force any one to believe in god if they don't want to but the same goes for atheists don't force your opinion down on everyone else . also don't be an atheist just because your favorite band doesnt believe in him. now im 100% christian but i still like there music. i just dont agree with them.
Man you guys have really come a long long way. I remember when a lot of people including me were in love with your first couple songs, Re: They have no reflections and This is what the edge of your seat was made for when they first came out on MySpace. You guys and Pwd are still my two most favorite musicians when it comes to Metal.
Yeah, bmth were 'the band' that got me into their type of music, and I'm one if their younger fans, and i also know the words to their songs and stuff, and they are a truly amazing band👌
4:41 gotta be the best bit - Jordon being modest and holding back from simply just saying 'they obviously like the band.. it's not like, they've turn up.... because they think we're fit as fuck'
I have to say I'm 16 and I love their music so much I can't put it into words. I freak people out because I will just randomly start screaming the lyrics that pop in my head, but hey good music is good music.
You are so real, hope everyone of you will accept how adored you are.thank you, first band I saw since my hubby died.you woke me up,I'm finding my way back.because of YOU. Thank you x
I, being a Christian, love BMTH. I think most of their songs require deep thought to understand. Although some of their songs obviously are shouting the meaning in your face. I don't care if they're atheist. Although, unless you actively follow a religion, you will always be misinformed on some aspects. Religion has caused war, yes. Crusades and jihad for example. But holding the current generations of Christians accountable for the Crusades is like Germany now is still like Nazi Germany. Not even everyone agreed with the Crusades, like not every German agreed with the Nazis. And when the Great Flood is considered genocide, I even admit it, if we are saying it was real, a bit drastic. But I like to think of it this way. I believe we are His creations. We are His art. Now, think of an artist who has made something but made too many mistakes. In many cases you can't just paint over something or re sculpt something without starting over a-new. So that's what God did. He kept some of the things He thought were good enough and some of the materials. And my argument for homosexuality is that God said "Go forth and multiply." 2 men or 2 women cannot copulate and then conceive. Therefore. any sexual activity that occurs in a gay/lesbian relationship is then considered fornication. And a church won't see gay marriage as a "real" marriage for that reason. I understand that being gay doesn't instantly make you an evil person. That theory about Christianity is just flat out wrong and if someone does think that way, it is simply a personal opinion, not that their ideology says it is. God doesn't HATE us, he just hates our sin that we may or may not embrace. I know that everyone is going to face sins in their life, without a doubt. I believe that homosexuality is just a form of the sin of lust. And I believe that He would appreciate if we tried to fight against this sin. Heck, there are actually Christian gay people, believe it or not. They believe the same thing. Now, before you jump on me about all this, I want you to look carefully throughout my comment for a very special phrase. "I believe." That's simply just what I BELIEVE. I respect what YOU BELIEVE. We can live in a world of Christians, atheists,Buddhists,Muslims, etc. If we learn to respect each other and not be at each other's throats all the time.
So you do not have a problem to watch Church burning in a video ??? Even if that Church represent God himself ??? You must have some red line of tolerance my friend. Nobody is perfect, but on some things you must have a clear attitude.
// Teresa // Silly me, so I guess it is ok to burn flags and other stuff that mean something to people so I could express my self. But only if it is not the flag of the LGTB population or the flag of the USA, or the flag of Israel or any other not Christian symbol because it would be considered hate speech. You are such a hypocrite. Burning things is the worst thing you can do, it represent destruction and hatred regardless what is the subject.
Love this video, love this band. People need to get over the stupid stereotypes that this kind of music is full of devil worshiping, hateful, depressed, suicide, crazy people. The bands and music actually have really positive meanings and ideas behind them, people just hear screaming for 2 seconds and automatically dismiss it ass emo or suicidal music. It's just the style of the genre to have the music sound like that. The lyrics and meanings behind the songs are realer than most mainstream/hip-hop/rap songs. Not shitting on that music, I do like some of it, but just saying people need to see this music for what it actually is!
I just- I have no words. Like... This is a band that so many people tear apart, so many people just call it scremo shit. SO many people who tear into Oli and say he's a bad influence and a drug addict and a horrible idol. Yet here's this interview that flat out asks questions that most people would word to make everyone happy yet they're sitting there speaking their minds and giving there honest opinion but NOT being judgmental and teaching SO many lessons so many people need to learn: be kind because it's the right thing to do not because there's punishment if you don't. Believe in yourself instead of trying to make some higher power happy. And Then saying how they don't care what age or gender the fans are. They're there because they like the music and because they support the band and they're not going to discriminate. But yet people rip them apart...all because they don't look like and sound like how they want them to. This just brings so much meaning to how we live and what kind of time we live in. And they are honestly the band that brought me into this kind of music. And after seeing this interview...I will always support their music no matter what because I'm now positive that I'll always support them as people too.
I really respect the fact that Oli and Jordan kept their cool during the "religion" section. sometimes when people have opinions that are widely debated they start raising their voice and start saying things that are intended to hurt other people. The way they explained the reason behind everything they stood for was really respctable and I love that. Even religious/Christian people can relate to what they say even if they don't agree with it.
Bring Me The Horizon was definitely the band that introduced me to this kind of music. Yes, Linkin Park was a contributing factor, but BMTH is what really got me into it and encouraged me to look up and discover other bands of the same genre. So, I completely agree with Oli in that sense. Even if you're not a fan of this music you can't deny the fact that when BMTH started becoming more popular, other bands that are similar became more popular as well.
I'm a Christian and I have all of his albums on my phone, even though he is an atheist and I'm a Christian, it doesn't change my view on him. Yes, I believe that there are people who are assholes that claim to be Christian and blow up on people like him and call him names, but people should accept one another anyways, atheist, bi, gay, lesbian...any one of those. But I'm not friends with people who try to bring me down, or try to make me not believe in God. If they accept me as a Christian then I accept them as an atheist or curious. Then our friendship wouldn't be about religion. I had a friend who tried to bring me down, and I cut ties with her because I wanted to be happier (cause of my diagnosis of depression) and we never talked to eachother again.
I am believer , in my 19s/20 was lost screaming his lyrics to the sky of chelsea smile ,depressed and seeking for answer and untill realize he never left , and he said what the point to be good , good flows ,where evil is chaotic , bmth has some lyrics right in middle of saving people and then the latest like amen is just garbage 🤐 he don't believe in religion where the devil is part of , the part where is bad , he said don't believe the man in cloud means don't believe in the man underground ,what he clearly promoting , but i seen him do spirtual ceremony in brazil he must believe from something above
I disagree with Oli's opinion on religion and the whole world being in turmoil because of it; if religion didn't exist, people would still find some other excuse to wage war on each other and be judgmental pricks, God has nothing to do with evil, people are responsible for fucking the world up themselves. Also, I find it strange that he's suddenly so passionate about his atheist views when BMTH's past two records clearly express Christian sentiments and have lyrics that make use of Christian imagery. By the way, I went to the parks and devastation tour, the burning church in the background was badass, and this is coming from a Catholic, I thought it was metal as fuck, and I love BMTH's music.
Dave Canals The only difference between religion and fables is people actually believe in religious stories. How can you believe in something that you have never seen? Religion is something that has, and still does cause chaos in the world. The bible was written many, many years ago by people from completely different worlds, values, and thoughts. It has good messages in a way like fables do, but also has some dark things that a benevolent, omnipotent deity who looks at you while you shit, is apparently okay with.
Look bud, I won't try to explain to you why I believe in what I believe because I know you really don't give a fuck and, either way, I don't owe you any kind of explanation, but the fact of the matter is that organized religion is a man-made thing and has as much power as any individual is willing to give it. People are responsible for the chaos they cause themselves, period, just because they use a deity as an excuse to wage war doesn't make the war any less theirs. And yes, the bible was compiled together by imperfect humans and it has good messages and dark ones as well, but if you can't be mature and take in the positive aspects of the scriptures and disregard that which contradicts the values that Jesus Christ preached, then you really never needed Christianity to begin with, and that's fine, but please don't belittle people like me just because I accept that the world is imperfect and believe in something greater than myself
Ive listened to bmth since i was 12/13 still love them now and i know near enough every word to every song. I love them for the music as well as there attitude towards life.
I think i understand finally why I still love this band. Even after turning towards a genre I dont really like, I still love the songs. I think i still like BMTH because Oli fucking grew up. You can feel his maturity and strength in all of his songs now. And the ability for his lyrics to impact fans as much as they do is amazing, and definitely a trait that alot of bands and musicians are missing today.
Hey guys we all have the right to speak about anything and everything. I'm Christian and that's okay. Others are Athiests and that's okay. I believe in things that's okay. Others WILL have opinions about things. We were given the will to do things. So stop fighting and get it through your head that we live in a judgmental world and sadly, it's probably not gonna change, again MY OPINION you wanna say something about it then go ahead I'm not fighting with you you can say whatever you want
I disagree with the religion bit. Most wars are about money, with religion stamped as an excuse. Most religion is about money when you really get down to it. If someone being a Christian for example causes anyone problems they aren't doing it right. The problems in the world are caused by people not the abstract idea of "religion". If someone hits you with a shovel it wasn't the shovel who decided to hurt you it's the person who doesn't know how to use a shovel correctly.
I'm a Muslim and I LOVE bmth they didn't do anything to offend me nor my religion! So why be a jerk and offend them? They only actually helped me to the better❤️
This makes no sense. He was just talking about people being hypocritical and a minute later he talks about how he doesn't try to offend people about how he is atheist but then calls god a imaginary friend in the sky... I love the band but come on.
Lol He obviously has some negative experiences with religious people/religion. When you're indifferent about something, you don't pay it any attention. I love their music, but they make it a point to show how much they don't believe in God. I can think of some things I don't care anything about, and I wouldn't bother writing a song about them. *shrug*
about the religion thing, i completely agree that people can't rely on something that doesn't exist and that they have to rely on themselves, but i guess gods just provide people with a sense of hope to keep going. i'm pretty much athiest but i'm not against religion as long as people don't shove it in my face or do stupid things cuz of it
i know this comment is old, but for me believing in God kept me going and helped me from killing myself years ago, especially when i dont have faith in myself and had no one or anything to hold on to, God gave me hope and helped me be stable in my darkest times
I pretty much hae grown up with BMTH, I no joke started listening to them in 6th grade and have loved them to today where I'm a junior in high school now :), I never gave up them like I have other bands, this band is so powerful and meaningful and strong, That's The Spirit means so much to me now :)
I actually have watched a lot of stuff like this from their's for a long time now. In my opinion, all of them have grown up and matured, but since Oliver is recovered everything in this band attracts me more and more. I like how he expresses himself now and how much healthier (physically and mentally) he looks like now. In the past, he used to be kind of a dick and aggressive, probably because of K, but now I'm pretty proud of all of them and I'm a great admirer of their music.
i mean they have their own beliefs but sometimes i feel like they can disrespect certain religions like on their drop dead merch it says really offensive things and their music videos portray religious things, but in wrong ways. I mean listening to him i understand his point of view and all that but I mean all that aside about them trying to make a point, if you don't believe in God than dont associate it in your music videos, and make it distorted. Bottom line, if you are not religious than don't include religious things in your videos because you are disrespecting it in a way. Its like taking a culture and misinterpreting it. This is my opinion and my belief so i would just appreciated if they didnt include religion if they dont believe in it. Also, in Christianity its less about the religion its self, its more about the relationship with God.
+Rylee King exactly. theres a difference between anti-christian and anti-bs. oli makes perfectly clear that he doesn't believe in God, so what is wrong with the idea of a T-shirt promoting his belief that he feels comfortable in? thatd be like am athiest saying to a christian oh don't wear that cross necklace, it promotes god. but they feel comfortable in it so as long as its not harming or putting anyone in danger, what's the harm? agree?
The singer is young he doesn't understand about religion yet has these definite things to say about it, based on probably looking at the worst religious people in history who were contradicting the teachings of the religion...That is worse than commenting hatefully on UA-cam all the time which he said is wrong. He is no scholar...neither am I, so I try to learn about different religions and ask questions if I'm not sure about something. Labelling all religion as wrong or being the root of all evil is just going way too far. The worst I could say about religion is that Islam is the most violent religion because it's true, it's not all bad though. With atheism since it has no beliefs at all, no morals or anything has led to some of the worst murders in history, not that atheists can't be nice people too. ; )
Well i for one can say that BMTH was the band that got me into Metal/Metalcore/post-core(whatever people that think they know the genre call it these days). BMTH is great! good to the a band evolve.
i got into bring me the horizon when i was 11, the song that got me into this band was blessed with a curse, and when i first heard it, i fell inlove. it was nothing similar to anything else ive heard before just the beginning the guiatr it was all real nice. and now im about to turn 15 and still say bmth IS my favorite band, never have i not liked any of their music or whatever.
Let's appreciate the fact that Oli's opinion on religion started a discussion in the comments and no one's butthurt or disrespectful about it. BMTH fans are some pretty cool fellows.
Pure Narcissism, right here. He didn't have the guts to take a leap of faith and let God heal him of his addictions and issues. Now he's taking that cowardice and trying to turn into a kind of martyrdom, gotta love his cliché non-believer comments about imaginary men in the sky, never gets old. Pathetic, grow up and be a man instead of a petulant child your whole life. That being said, God Bless him.
You have the right to believe in what you want but please explain how accepting that there's no one there to help you but yourself cowardice? If anything asking a "higher power" for help through every single problem in your life is cowardice. I'm agnostic and I think there could be a god but I think it's more reasonable to just use the bible as life lessons and guidelines on how to be a better person and be a better person simply to be a better person. I find most extremely religious people I've met to be very arrogant and unforgiving.
He's writing and singing about how he really feels, and his opinions make a lot of sense. Anyone in this comment feed that puts these guys down for feeling this way is wasting there time.
It's wonderful to hear them stand up for their young female fans. Women, especially young women, are often horribly mistreated in this genre of music. They are attacked for enjoying something, which is awful and discouraging and sexist. To hear Oli and Jordan say that everyone is welcome at their shows is a great comfort.
YES THANK YOU SO MUCH! I always see older people complaining about the fact that younger people, kids and teens are getting into this genre of music. It's of course understandable when people get mad because fangirls only go to a concert to see the lead singer, or if they only go to see the band because they think it's 'cool', but NOT EVERYONE DOES THAT! Some 13 year olds actually do enjoy this type of music, and who are you to tell them that they can't?? Let me just get this out there AGE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MUSIC! People can like and dislike what they want to, and regardless of your opinion, those 13 year olds are not going to stop listening to bmth or other 'heavier' bands. (Yes I do realize that bmths last albums haven't been that 'heavy', but that's besides the point.) Listen, people can do what they want, say what they want and like what they want. It's not your decision if a 13 year old girl wants to go to an alternative, rock or metal concert, so just leave them alone?
I'm a Christian and I love BMTH. I understand his point of view (putting myself in an Atheist shoes), but I do think that just like I wouldn't force someone to believe in God, I don't think it's right for him, or anyone, to say that God doesn't exist... Because they themselves don't known that. I don't have proof of God myself except for experiences I've had. But I CHOOSE to believe in him through faith, because faith means believing and having hope for what you can't see. There's more scientific proof that God does exist that Him not existing. So all I'm saying is please don't say that God isn't real when you don't actually know that for sure. 😊
In my opinion, gender doesn't matter in liking a certain type of band. If you make good music, spot-on lyrics, and your passionate on what you do then I'mma be your fan. BMTH is an eye opener tbh
I feel like Jordan is trying to stop oli from saying anything stupid
Yeah me too
MusicBYoscarM same cause olí goes all out without any thoughts
MusicBYoscarM handler
Yeah I little bit. Oli had ADHD, so when he runs away with stuff it didn't really come across as pleasant as Jordan would say it.
I have ADHD it's horrible okay 👌
"if you want an imaginary friend that lives in the clouds thats fine" fucking salt wow i'm dying
But it's true...😂😂
I listened to this with headphone in public but when he said that I said out loud "oh shit!" And I started laughing.
he's so salty lmao
"If you want an imaginary friend that lives in the clouds, that's fine"
I'm laughing so hard right now omg
omg right 😂😂
+Saffron T I said that to my (christian) mother when i told her I was Atheist haha!
Christopher Leonard lmao, good on you!! :)
haha I love that part too
Yet they promote satanism. Okay.
This is one of the best interviews with BMTH that I've seen. The interviewer/questions really got the guys to open up and give some thorough answers. Well done!
Ollie's matured. I'm impressed.
Well i mean he's 28 years old now. So it makes sense, he's pretty much always been somewhat the same tho since he's 20's
He's 27.he's going to be 28 on nov 20 just incase you don't know that either.
alleah winchester you seriously need a fuggin hobby kiddo
Sounds like you're the one who needs a hobby because you're not even replying to their comments you're just being a creep telling me to get a hobby TF am I not aloud to read comments?
Haha, after watching this interview, hes far from matured my friend.
Oli saying “because they think one of the members is attractive” knowing damn well it’s him
Omg Oli got into his music because of Linkin Park! That's so cool because they're both two of my favorites!
beejay926 Same here!
Yea same
I fell closer to Oliver now knowing linkin park inspired him
You don't need a lot lol.
Yes and Chester killed himself no girlfriend wants to do that stop worship the dead
He's spot on about religion. As an atheist myself I don't care if you're Christian, Muslim, Hindu, or whatever......but, when your beliefs start affecting others when it comes to things like abortion, gay marriage, teaching creationism in public school then you have crossed the line and I will care.

And really theres a lot of evidence that God exist. I wont be arguing with any1 son theres no need to reply on my comment. Have a wonderful day given by God
Sven Tomanic So why are you sure that God exists? Honestly I don't think it's something you can prove but I'd be really happy if I was wrong
+TheGiovus95 There has to be a higher power whether you are religious or not. The Earth itself is too perfect to be something random
Same
When he said that he doesnt care how old you are you can come to the show I literally wanted to cry because im a younger fan.
the fangirlism is strong in this one
Matt yes
im a young fan also. normally all fans of bands in this genre are 16+ (not sure exactly) but im only 14 and i love this music
same here. I've been a fan for about 3 years now I think? I'm 14 now (almost 15) and I get where you're coming from
I listen to a lot of bands and there are atheists in them, and even though I'm Catholic and believe that God is out there, I'm not going to automatically hate him because he doesn't believe in it. He can believe whatever he wants to believe because I'm not offended and it's not like he's causing problems.
ezekiel medrano meh
Deathbound Child me too. I'm Christian and go to church like every week and absolutely love bands like this. I'm cool with theses songs and they don't change my beliefs or anything, I just like listening to these songs.
sarah crowder Exactly. Thats awesome :)
Drown.
Exactly! I think the same
I think what he is getting at is this: It's ok to believe whatever you want. Just don't force your beliefs down anyone's throats
like he's doing right now...
mr mister He’s not telling you to be an atheist, he’s explaining how religion is detrimental to society.
And the same goes for the reverse way, do not try to destroy the faith of others just because you do not believe
***** It's healthy to be skeptical of things.
I grew up in an atheist household, but my parents never forced anything on me and let me discover things for myself.
i dont know if it's the handsome face, the amazing screaming vocals or the great british accent but Oliver has me stunned!
"it's a long process of banging your head against a wall" me in math class
A comedian called Frankie Boyle puts the religion thing perfectly, he said ''Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're correct.''
Wokes are the new zealots
This was a really good interview.
No girlfriend us very religious she thinks martyr for jess she has right to believe in sumac beta then this world a scientist so I take it back now
"we got some 12,13 year olds listening to our music like, they don't listen to it just because they think it's cool, they actually know the lyrics and like the band" tHATS ME
About religion, I 100% agree with what he said. I am so sick and tired of my parents shoving Christianity down my throat
saaaaame
Well done for having a mind of your own, I looked into religion as I had atheist parents and I found it was all rubbish.
+Ruth “Exsugarbabe” Barr Yeah me too, I love to debate about religion etc.
Props to you for not bashing his opinion even though you feel different most people would start some huge argument
I agree with Trevor. I don't agree with Oliver but he has a right to an opinion as anyone else. I love Bring Me The Horizon and I am a Christian. I don't hate them because of what they believe, I just disagree and that's alright. I still respect them.
Analise Irakoze pretty much same.
Analise Irakoze I feel the same way.
But he isn't wrong though is he?Religion has fucked up more things than it's helped
One thing as a christian myself im not going to force any one to believe in god if they don't want to but the same goes for atheists don't force your opinion down on everyone else . also don't be an atheist just because your favorite band doesnt believe in him. now im 100% christian but i still like there music. i just dont agree with them.
Totally agree with you...
I like Oli's views on religion. He makes a good point.
I totally agree with his opinion on religion. If you don't agree good for you. I don't really give a fuck.
I know righttt! Thanks 😂😂😊
***** yea i stopped reading after you said bring me the horizons... bruh its singular not plural.
***** *You're
*****
That should not have been one sentence.
Who asked you?
It's like Jordan had to stop oli from saying something offensive about girls who like the band 😂
They put on a fucking bad ass show last night in Nashville. Second time seeing them in 6 months. By far my favorite band..
Drop dead gorgeous
4:41 gotta be the best bit - Jordon being modest and holding back from simply just saying 'they obviously like the band.. it's not like, they've turn up.... because they think we're fit as fuck'
I have to say I'm 16 and I love their music so much I can't put it into words. I freak people out because I will just randomly start screaming the lyrics that pop in my head, but hey good music is good music.
BMTH was the band that brought me into this genre, that's why I love them so much
You are so real, hope everyone of you will accept how adored you are.thank you, first band I saw since my hubby died.you woke me up,I'm finding my way back.because of YOU.
If we learn to respect each other and not be at each other's throats all the time.
well said 👌
So you do not have a problem to watch Church burning in a video ??? Even if that Church represent God himself ??? You must have some red line of tolerance my friend. Nobody is perfect, but on some things you must have a clear attitude.
a church is a metaphor that only means that religion doesn't mean a lot so somebody not that you're an Antichrist
Burning things is the worst thing you can do, it represent destruction and hatred regardless what is the subject.
its only a symbol that doesn't mean this much
oli, jordan, I love you so much.
I love that olivers honest and the songs have true meanings that I can relate to or agree with! ❤️ I love them so much!
Not shitting on that music, I do like some of it, but just saying people need to see this music for what it actually is!
no one is talking about that?
That is sooooo true
thats crazy, i still remember playing hybrid theory on my walkman in high school every day between class. no wonder i love these guys
?? THIS IS BMTH.
hyerp derp derp no shit. dude talked about LP being a huge inspiration. hes a year younger than me.
MJ yes
This is why i still love this band, been here since the early days & I'm not going anywhere ♡
''Now its just people'' haha gotta love Oli 😂😂
"IF YOU want to have an imaginary friend that lives in the clouds." That was great 😂😂
When they said 13yr old girls I felt that
Oliver is the realest dude I've really listen to, the band and oli are very passionate with their music, love it
i like how Jordan is like the mature older one making sure he rationalises what oli says so it isnt offensive ha
Everything they said in this video is so true. This is probably my favorite interview.
2:33 Which word did he use ("a church burning as our ...")?
backdrop
@@XeTrainExpress Thanks. There is a burning church in the music video to "Throne".
"If you want an imaginary friend that lives in the clouds...." haha love this guy!
I agree
Most of the wars that happened in all of man kind was because of religion....
omar alcida
No, it was because of people who claimed to worship God but only worshiped themselves.
Oliver, "Can you feel my heart" IS magical
Oooo Jordan said about recording front of house - they done that for Guitar Hero Live!
Ive listened to bmth since i was 12/13 still love them now and i know near enough every word to every song. I love them for the music as well as there attitude towards life.
oli has matured so much ^.^
Omg ikr 😭💕👍👏
I think i understand finally why I still love this band. Even after turning towards a genre I dont really like, I still love the songs. I think i still like BMTH because Oli fucking grew up. You can feel his maturity and strength in all of his songs now. And the ability for his lyrics to impact fans as much as they do is amazing, and definitely a trait that alot of bands and musicians are missing today.
3:03 louder for the people at the back!
they were the band they got me into this kind of music so i coukdnt help but laugh when Oli said he wanted to be that bad
I love how he is so straight up about everything:) The entire band is super rad. And I am so glad Oliver is doing better.
Clearly you do want one or you wouldn't go out of your way to post a comment and open yourself to discourse.
Itziar flores Honestly, thank you so much!! You said it so much better than I could've!!
I disagree with the religion bit. Most wars are about money, with religion stamped as an excuse. Most religion is about money when you really get down to it. If someone being a Christian for example causes anyone problems they aren't doing it right. The problems in the world are caused by people not the abstract idea of "religion". If someone hits you with a shovel it wasn't the shovel who decided to hurt you it's the person who doesn't know how to use a shovel correctly.
i agree with you completely.
The fact that religion is about money subsequently tears away any credibility religion has.
Mmmchutney Religion isn't supposed to be about money in any way. Corrupt assholes make it about money though.
Mmmchutney I actually meant to say most war is about money in my initial comment, not religion. I mistyped, I apologize.
Money and oil
i loved all of these questions!
Teenage girls are so important and worthy of so much respect. It's great to see BMTH recognizing that.
My favorite band I'm going to join them in a few years
I pretty much hae grown up with BMTH, I no joke started listening to them in 6th grade and have loved them to today where I'm a junior in high school now :), I never gave up them like I have other bands, this band is so powerful and meaningful and strong, That's The Spirit means so much to me now :)
I actually have watched a lot of stuff like this from their's for a long time now. In my opinion, all of them have grown up and matured, but since Oliver is recovered everything in this band attracts me more and more. I like how he expresses himself now and how much healthier (physically and mentally) he looks like now. In the past, he used to be kind of a dick and aggressive, probably because of K, but now I'm pretty proud of all of them and I'm a great admirer of their music.
why am I laughing so much about "Imaginary friend who live in the clouds "😂😂😂
4:21 I love this so much♡ maybe now people will stop fucken labeling.
Their the ones who got me into this kind of music, I love it so much even though it's only been less than a year since I've gotten into it
jordan is such a sweetheart aw
3:18 ollie has a great point
What's the song playing in the background of the interview?! I love it!
I find he's so much more understandable and well spoken since he got off of K
Does anyone know where I could buy Jordan's shirt because its super freakin' cool
i mean they have their own beliefs but sometimes i feel like they can disrespect certain religions like on their drop dead merch it says really offensive things and their music videos portray religious things, but in wrong ways.
I got a shirt at their show that says "fuck your faith" on a burning church. Lol
Ufokenwot m8 Sheep Much???
BMTH is great! good to the a band evolve.
bring me the horizon IS the band that got me into music .
i got into bring me the horizon when i was 11, the song that got me into this band was blessed with a curse, and when i first heard it, i fell inlove. it was nothing similar to anything else ive heard before just the beginning the guiatr it was all real nice. and now im about to turn 15 and still say bmth IS my favorite band, never have i not liked any of their music or whatever.
That was also my first song
It's fun to see that they realize they have so much girl fans , i really like the band haha , huge fan over here❤❤
All y'all niggas talkin about the religion part. Like damn, did you not pay attention to the rest of the interview? It was 7 minutes long, after all.
Let's appreciate the fact that Oli's opinion on religion started a discussion in the comments and no one's butthurt or disrespectful about it. BMTH fans are some pretty cool fellows.
When I hear the words "eradicate this disease" in pray for plagues, religion is the first thing that comes to mind
Religion scares me >_>
Hail Satan and smoke meth, thats what my mum always taught me
Nah, go to hell...........................................(for heaven's sake)
well said mate
This dude has grown the fuck up over the last few years, Keep it the fuck up you legends.
It’s been two years and i still want to know where Jordan’s shirt is from. It’s so pretty.
I started laughing so hard. He keeps talking about the little girls lol
He looks so much better, so much more alive.
Also excuse my grammar, but English isn't my native language..
Hahha if you want an imaginary friend that lives in the clouds lol I laughed to hard at that hhaha
In my opinion, gender doesn't matter in liking a certain type of band. If you make good music, spot-on lyrics, and your passionate on what you do then I'mma be your fan. BMTH is an eye opener tbh
