He consistently drops music for anybody who wants to listen and he is very expansive and he does have a different style in most albums. He also has many heartfelt music that can be relatable. It’s a combination of a couple different things going against him… over saturation and a dip in the quality of his music recently has hurt him. Being on house arrest this long, nearly two years at this point, affected him mentally and musically I think. He’s sort of in a weird position right now where that same level of hype isn’t there that was there in 2020 or 2021 but he still has a strong fanbase. He’s never really been a big hit artist like somebody like lil baby or gunna but still managed to sell 100k multiple times with minimal to no features. He didn’t really cultivate many industry relationships through his career so him getting those big features at this point don’t seem likely but it would be a big help for him to get a real hit now but that’s never really been the type of artist he was, to have a top ten or top 20 hit. I’m not sure what he should do now at this point in his career to get back to that level he once was at, but the number one thing in general is to focus on the quality of the music. He’s been my favorite rapper for a couple of years now and I can say after Richest Opp he’s been missing on the singles he’s dropped. I did like Heard Of Me tho.

As much I agree with a lot of what you usually say HelloYassine, I think YB will just always be the anomaly man. Some body put the best way, YB drops for those who are gonna listen. He just not the type of artist that’s trying to win the world over. And that’s okay with being that type of artist. At this point what does he need the collaborations for? He’s already a house hold name. At this point his projects will always pull viewers/listeners. Do I agree that YB has yet to make the best sonically put together album, yes. But again, the man’s is YOUNG as hell. If you don’t listen well enough or I’ll say deep enough to his discography, you wouldn’t peg him as a top tier ARTIST. YB doesn’t need to collaborate with artists. Being a artist myself I don’t even wanna say that he needs to anything, the man’s won already. He’s cemented if he bowed out today. I think one there are 2 major things that play into this narrative. 1. It’s all been a narrative. 2. He had a dance partner to keep him in the limelight. (Durk) Youngboy has a nice fan base but he’s never been that huge and they’ve never been that dedicated. Akademiks and the media have been pushing this narrative about youngboy that makes him seem a lot bigger than what he actually is. Ak said Youngboy was a top 5 rapper of 2022 and Durk and they were both over Gunna who outsold both of them but in 2023 Al’s who tuned changed about Youngboy following their fall out.

As a YoungBoy supporter I still love his music however, that whiny ass voice he does ruins his songs. As much I agree with a lot of what you usually say HelloYassine, I think YB will just always be the anomaly man. Some body put the best way, YB drops for those who are gonna listen. He just not the type of artist that’s trying to win the world over. And that’s okay with being that type of artist. At this point what does he need the collaborations for? He’s already a house hold name. At this point his projects will always pull viewers/listeners. Do I agree that YB has yet to make the best sonically put together album, yes. But again, the man’s is YOUNG as hell. If you don’t listen well enough or I’ll say deep enough to his discography, you wouldn’t peg him as a top tier ARTIST. YB doesn’t need to collaborate with artists. Being a artist myself I don’t even wanna say that he needs to anything, the man’s won already. He’s cemented if he bowed out today. As a supporter I’d say I would like to see him collaborate with different producers and let somebody like a Rick Rubin, or someone along those lines really executive produce a album for him.

Akademiks and the media have been pushing this narrative about youngboy that makes him seem a lot bigger than what he actually is.
Ak said Youngboy was a top 5 rapper of 2022 and Durk and they were both over Gunna who outsold both of them but in 2023 Al’s who tuned changed about Youngboy following their fall out.

He used to be so consistent with his sounds, flows and production now it just seems like everything is rushed.
