The future is ultimately bright for drones except i am still concerned about the possibility of bans on dji.
I am a recently retired yet an still certified first responder out of Florida that had already banned first responders in the agency's from using dji which is no good at all.
I also am equipping my dji with thermal imaging at least to assist with approval victims of dangerous hurricanes. The thermal being used is both powerful and after each battery reveals the exact gps locations for those possibly are in need. Its a shame law enforcement drones have been grounded also to search for suspects. The latest county that was hiting was for a drone pilot for citrus county and immediately after the job was posted as available, citrus county stopped interviewing shamefully.
It is unfortunate for sure. I was a member of one county's SAR team and they refused to use drones at all for privacy reasons. Very unfortunate and short sighted. Hopefully things will change in the future. Drones are such a great tool for first responders.
@@altitudeuniversity not sure how it is in your state however in specific SAR operations, can you do it as a independent and not part of the SAR team after gaining permission from local authorities to assist yet I know the need to have credentials in hand.
@@RickyL305 It depends on the county/city in most cases. In general most want you to be on the team so that you are 1. trained and 2. not a legal liability. It's best to check with your local SAR team to see what they have to say.
