I havent picked up any paying gigs just yet so Ive decided to do as much "free" work as I can that I can use as a marketing tool. Worst case I increase networking and portfolio. Im going to try and do an event tomorrow that the tourism sector of my town is hosting, hoping it leads to something good. Currently it looks like ill be better served helping advertise an event than sell a house. there is also an event coming up for kids that I can show my truck (overlanding build) and my drone stuff while I fly/advertise the event and have eyes all over my business. I am finding it very difficult to get folks interested in the idea of drone photography but everyone loves when I publish dramatic panoramic's of the city or hyperlapsed morning sunrises over the town.

You might try building a town reel (search for our video on that) to show potential clients.

@@altitudeuniversity yes I have been considering that. My town is very small though but I may try and put one together. (Waiting for things to green up). Thanks for the reply and idea!

I haven’t even watched this video yet, but I’m betting the answer is, no.
Time is money and your time is worth something even if you’re new and inexperienced.
Working for free only begets more people asking for the free service you offered their buddy.
You can’t feed yourself on experience-bucks.

Time is money, but there are some cases where it may make sense. I'm not a huge fan of free work, but there are good times to use it sparingly.

@@altitudeuniversity I’d have to disagree, not even for family would I work for free. I just closed a 20+ year professional DJ service. Free only begot more people wanting that “free” deal. You have to remember, your time, your expertise and experience are worth something. They hire you because you know what you’re doing and have already put in the time perfecting your skills. You deserve to get paid.

@@RobsTubeTV I understand and respect your opinion. It is a fair point. I prefer getting paid as well, but I will do search and rescue work for free when asked.
