This wasn't a Disney Channel movie -- this was on the big screen. They just played this movie a LOT on Disney Channel.
Every time the *Kids In The Hall* had a scene together, we Generation X fans just had a huge smile. Kevin and Dave are hilarious.
"Gwen Grayson" was a double comic book reference. Gwen Stacy was one of the girlfriends of Spider-Man; Dick Grayson was the real name of Robin (later as Nightwing)
Layla is basically "What if Poison Ivy were a hero?" She's got a cool power.
33:47 -- Tom Kenny. The woman next to him is his real-life wife Jill. (she plays Karen Plankton)
The writer of this movie was one of the main writers/creators of Kim Possible.

This film is Easily without a doubt one of Disney’s most underrated films and superhero films from the early-mid 2000’s. Just the chemistry of the cast and the action + comedy were worth watching and it’s unfortunate that Disney hardly acknowledges the film’s existence and seems more content with having the Marvel Cinematic Universe instead. I do hope we get a sequel or a Disney+ series based on Sky High someday.
This film was literally _My Hero Academia_ before _My Hero Academia_
The funny thing is I didn’t know that was Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Gwen/Sue Tenny/Royal Pain cause I Only became familiar with her through her performance as Ramona Flowers in _Scott Pilgrim vs the World_ and then I rewatched _Sky High_ and went "OMG It’s Ramona, how did I not noticed her the first time."
Even the same can be said with other actors I first saw but never realized it was them until I saw them in another movie, for instance Anna Kendrick who I saw her in _Scott Pilgrim_ and heard her through _Up in the Air_ and _Twilight_ but didn’t became familiar with her until _Pitch Perfect_ along with David Tennant (who I saw him in Goblet of Fire (but didn’t recognize him), but knew him through _Doctor Who),_ Robert Downey Jr. (saw him Shaggy Dog but knew him as Iron Man), Pedro Pascal (saw him in The Mandalorian but didn’t know he was in The Kingsmen: Golden Circle), Stephanie Hsu (saw her in _Shang Chi_ but knew her in _Everything Everywhere All at Once),_ Asa Butterfield (saw him in Nanny McPhee Returns (didn’t knew he was in the film), but became more familiar with him in Hugo), Chris Evans (knew him as Captain America but didn’t knew nor did I realize he was in Fantastic Four) and Chris Pine (saw him in Princess Diaries 2 (never recognize him), but knew him through the 2009 Star Trek film) and Zoe Saldaña (saw her in Avatar but didn’t realize she was in Star Trek and Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl).

This movie is so much better than it has any right to be.
I saw this one in the theater when it came out, and have loved it ever since.
What really sets it apart for me is the cast. Kurt Russel and Bruce Campbell are the obvious two, but there were so many more. Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim), Danielle Panabaker (The Flash TV series), Kelly Preston (perhaps best known as Travolta's wife, but for movies Twins was probably her biggest), Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman), Kevin McDonald and Dave Foley (Kids in the Hall), Patrick Warburton (Kronk)... such a loaded cast.

So many people are talking about Lynda Carter (the prinicipal) being Wonder Woman, but the nurse was the actress that played her mother! (In the 70s) I always found her sister Wonder Girl more attractive, but Wonder Woman was definitely iconic. The 70s had a lot of superhero tv shows in live action. Wonder Woman, Shazam, the Hulk, Spiderman, and more!

Personally, I find Royal Pain a rather inspiring role model of a supervillain. She just has the right mix of flare, style, flash, panache, appearance and presentation.
I mean, what’s the point of being evil if you don’t get to look cool.
Plus, that disguised voice by Patrick Warburton really works for her. How else would anyone take you serious with just how you look? It’s also about how you sound and what you say that matters most if you expect to be seen and heard.

Kurt Russell is no stranger to Disney movies. He was a child actor in the 1960s and early 70s and did many live-action Disney movies like The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes. Even as an adult, he did another Disney film with Miracle about the US Olympic Hockey Team at Lake Placid in 1980...I still believe he should have been nominated for an Oscar for that performance as Herb Brooks, the coach of the Miracle team.
Jetstream/Josie Stronghold is the late Kelly Preston, wife of John Travolta. She passed due to cancer in 2020. She did a lot of movies like Mischief, Jerry Maguire, Twins, and For Love Of the Game.
Lynda Carter, who plays the principal of Sky High, was Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in the 1970s Wonder Woman TV series.
Warren Peace is played by Steven Strait, best known for playing Jim Holden on The Expanse.
Dave Foley (Mr. Boy) and Kevin McDonald (Dr. Medulla) were both members of the Canadian comedy group Kids in the Hall.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays Gwen Grayson. She was also Ramona in Scott Pilgrim and General Hera Syndulla in Star Wars Ahsoka, her role making Star Wars a family affair. Her husband in real life is Ewan McGregor, good ole Obi-Wan Kenobi himself.
Danielle Panabaker (Layla) finished another superhero job just last year. She played Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost on the CW show The Flash for the whole series run of ten seasons and was in the crossover shows for Arrow, Supergirl, and DC's Legends Of Tomorrow. She also directed several episodes of The Flash.
