@@TopTwom The period I can't stand is the 4 albums after Sevent Son. Creatively speaking it has been the worse period for Maiden. That's not according to me but according to all the rankings of Maiden albums made by fans. Virtual 11, X-Factor and No prayer are the 3 worse albums of Maiden and Fear of the Dark is just an average album which is mainly reminded for its title track. This goes to prove that Gers was the wrong choice. When Adrian and Bruce left, he had the opportunity to step up and prove his talent as a songwriter on Virtual 11 and X-factor. But both albums were absolute disasters. Harris was running out of ideas and he had no one around him to come up with brilliant ideas of riffs or melodies. After the Virtual 11 tour, the situation was so bad that Rod Smallwood convinced Bruce and Adrian to come back. And of course, the band got back on track. As for your comment on their live performances and the contribution of Janick, I remind you that Dave and Adrian are also on stage, so I doubt very much that you can isolate and hear distinctively Janick's guitar as it is diluted in the mix. And if what you are referring to are his dancing abilities, I think he would be perfect as an additional dancer in musicals or in traditional irish music shows like Riverdance.
@@TopTwom Spot on. I always find it staggering that people think they know Maiden better than Steve Harris...
