Another amazing guide video! Really did this split justice, explained every strat in Tetris, how vines work were explained really well too. I am always impressed by the quality of these guides, taking the time to explain every single small thing that could happen in this game. Some context about Tetris skip: if you're doing the Tyson first route, very few people started doing Tetris skip until they had at least a low 24 minute time. There are way more timesaves in movement and save reset strats and boss quick kills that you can do before attempting a strat that involves a blind frame perfect jump. Definitely do not need to rush learning this skip right away. I would say if you stick with this route, you can start learning and going for it when you have a sub 25 time. If you're doing Tetris first route, you can go for it, but once again I say 30 seconds really does not matter all that much until your time gets really low (around sub 25 range). With this route, you can do it whenever you want, just be prepared to reset a lot within the first 30 seconds if you're not good at it. 17:24 if you do grab the vine here, you should be able to let go of jump and then tap left, that will avoid jumping off the vine and crashing into the spikes, you fall faster and still maintain your double jump. 17:51 it's because the vine is slightly inside the block and not on the edge of it. So at the top, the kid is first against the bottom of the block above the vine, so he won't be able to grab the vine. The most common mistake here is that you will try to jump off the vine by pressing left as soon as you think you see the kid touching the vine to try to go fast, but because the top of the vine doesn't register you're on it, you just end up going left and not jumping at all. Kraidgief's 1st phase has 15 health, 2nd phase has 10, and the rest is phase 3. The skip happens when you can get 25 shots in phase 1, completely skipping phase 2. This means optimally you have 2 opportunities to shoot Kraidgief, and in those two opportunities, you can aim for 14 shots + 11 shots, 13 shots + 12 shots etc. Anything from 15-24 shots trigger phase 2. This is also why it's possible to trigger phase 2 early, when you hit him for 15 shots or above the first time. This boss is actually one of the places where RNG in the form of Kraidgief's attack or the falling spikes can cost you time, although the variance is nowhere near as bad as Dracula. Can't wait for the video on the next split.
Hey, I would love to send you a copy of these so that I can get this feedback before publicly uploading. Would that be cool so that I can go back and fix it? I'll just send you the link to my unlisted guide videos when I finish the 1st draft. If you don't want to do that though, then that's fine.
@@logicpq6884 I could do that, don't know if everything i said needs to be in it, i feel like the video is fine as it is. But I could look at it and give some feedback if you are ok with it.
@vimasa1678 yeah, I just think your feedback is really good, especially cuz you know the game at least as well as I do. I'm actually almost done with part 5 already. Do you have a way I can dm you the unlisted link when I upload in the coming days?
Btw ive also figured out that you can do an audio cue for the tetris skip, when the second note of the song plays, which was the way I thought people did before, but it could possibly be more inconsistent
I have never tried an audio cue, but if that works too, I'll try to include that in a video that talks about strategies I missed in this series. thanks for letting me know
5:58 Tbh 4 is enough, no need 5
I was just giving easier options for those who struggle with 4. If you can do 4, then definitely it's the way to go.
