    Oh my gosh Thank You for the no nonsense, straight forward info. Everybody else seems to think they need to babble on about whatever. And you did not. Very refreshing. Also your camera is great. In focus and shows your details perfectly. Nice job. Thank you so much. Take care.

    Once you watered your Orchid what did you do with the rest of the fertilizer and if you did not use it all what is the " Shelf Life:?....of the mixture...

    This is what I’ve been doing with mine (first orchid ever) lol. I’ve had it for about a week now and she’s been doing fantastic so far! I did have to repot her because of some mushrooms in the media she came with and am super nervous and unsure if I did everything right (which I’m sure everyone is this way at first) long comment lol but thanks so much for this video! It reassured me that I’ve at least been watering and fertilizing correctly 😊 much love!

      Julie Nicole I do have a question if you don’t mind. My orchid has produced some pretty small leaves under the bigger healthy leaves but they are turning brown and yellow, do you think that I should be worried?

    Thank you. This is informative. My orchids leaves turned yellow after I put fertilizer. I used very weak fertilizer, 1/4 teaspoon mixed with 4 gallons so very weak and still my orchid leaves turned yellow. After a month all leaves turned yellow. 4 of my orchids died so sad 😞

      Catherine Embalsado Oh sweetheart don’t be sad like I laterally feel for you because I’ve been through that but it’s ok we have to learn from our mistakes or experience and don’t be sad on the contrary we have to learn it’s ok many people have been through that and in your other orchid put the fertilizer once a month only becouse every week it is kind of intense on the plant .💕

    I need help, please. My moth orchid looks healthy. It waa near the end of flowing when I brought it home. I cut off the flower stem above the 1st node. The flower stem is still green down to the medium. My other orchid has flowered twice since the other. What can I do?

    Moth orchids are fairly forgiving so they aren't exactly a good measure for more dainty orchids, but I believe you are supposed to moisten the water starved roots prior to applying fertilizer.

    Do you still put ice cubes in them once a week? Or does fertilizing once a week equal watering or “icing”?

    Hi Julie, thank you for the helpful video. I have two orchid plants in my place. Each one came with a plastic pot like yours, but I re-planted them in planter pots and threw away the original plastic pots... Now I realize that I cannot check roots of my orchids...

    • @julienicole92
      @julienicole92  6 років тому +3

      Hello! You can always buy these types of clear plastic orchid pots online. I bought mine from: www.repotme.com I like how they have cut outs in the sides of the pot to allow air to circulate. You can also make your own if you are able to find clear plastic containers and use a hot nail or a drill to cut out drainage holes and aeration holes in the side. It's up to you! Also, it's important to grow your orchid in an orchid bark mix. I used to leave my orchids in the moss they came in and the roots always suffocated and rotted. I hope that helps!

    • @yukishibatamusic

    So now that you've sucked the plant in fertilizer. What do you do with the water + fertilizer mix? Do you reuse it? Or do you throw It away? And if you do reuse it how many times can you reuse it?

  • @BTArnold100

    Hi Julie, I hope you can advise me. I bought two "rescue" mini phalaenopsis orchids that were on sale and in pretty bad shape when I got them on sale at the store. I removed them from those pots, cut their flower spikes and trimmed the rotten roots and potted them in a bark media with moss lightly layered at the top. They look happier but they still didn't look to be improving as much as I would have hoped over the last 2 weeks.
    I have done one feed (half strength) of 10-20-20 fertilizer and I am wondering if I should switch to a 30-10-10/20 fertiliser to switch their focus to new leaves and roots instead. It's currently flowering season in South Africa and I've monitored their growing conditions VERY closely. I don't need them to flower again as I want to fully rehabilitaye them, but Is there anything else I can do to help them?
    Sincerely,
    Bryce

    I just repotted two orchids in a mix that's mostly moss. I'm afraid if I soak them to fertilize them I could get root rot. Can I do a pour over method with fertilizer mixed in? Will the roots absorb the fertilizer if it's just a pour over?

  • @ing360
    @ing360 3 роки тому +1

    I’ve read you have to soak the roots the day before fertilizing so as not to burn the roots from damage. Do you do this?
