  • This video is all about banded dips!
    Resistance band dips can be done as assisted dips at home or at the gym with an assisted dips machine. In addition to assisted dips, bands can be used for dip progression to help you continue to challenge yourself.
    In this video you'll find a dips tutorial where we show you proper form for on dips. We'll then walk you through the setup for assisted dips with bands. Finally, we'll show you exactly how to create dip progression by using bands to add resistance.
    During dips muscles worked primarily include the chest and triceps. This makes band assisted dips perfect for people of all fitness levels, especially those who can't do dips with their own bodyweight.
    For those of you that have already mastered how to do chest dips, you're going to enjoy adding bands for an extra challenge!

    Did some dips today with the green band and your vid as super helpful! These have always been intimidating to me but nice to see the workaround and also have a starting point to work from. Looking forward to the progress. Thanks for sharing!

    I'm using this for a warm-up to grease the groove because last time I was injured from not warming up the movement pattern. I use the sunpow bands for pull ups. I suppose i could double up.
    Usually i do 20 reps bodyweight
    Maxed out at 150x5reps (added). Hoping to get my dips to a 170 added 5x5 by next month! Progressive overload

    I tried dips like week ago, and it was super hard, intsatnly left hand started hurting and lost power so I stopped imediatly. Now my ass started hurting again after 4.5 months after I had ligation :( and I now am afraid to to heavy sports again to not make it hurt. This sucks, might need ligation one more time :(

      Thanks seabreeze! The squat rack we have is from Omni Fitness in Chanhassen, MN and it's definitely a good choice. Also recommend PRX performance folding rack if you want something to mount to your wall that folds up. Another option I came across recently is the Phoenix Rack from Bridgebuilt if you're looking for something cool that folds up without mounting to your wall!

    I USED A PROFESSIONAL DIP MACHINE WITH THE FULL WEIGHT STACK, IT WORKED.
    I TRIED YOUR BAND METHOD WITH VARIOUS STRENGTH BANDS AND MULTIPLE BANDS WITH HIGH HOPES.
    IT LOOKS SO EASY. UNFORTUNATELY IT JUST DID NOT WORK. I REALLY WANT THIS TO WORK. WHAT COULD POSSIBLE BE WRONG.

      It sounds like you're not using a band heavy enough for the assistance you need. You could try using a heavier band or stacking multiple bands together.
