      Does it really cost Jeep $4k more than the Rubicon parts you get? I wonder what their net increase cost basis is? It’s not like they give you the stock rubicon gears, rubicon axles, rubicon springs etc in addition to the extreme recon parts.

    Good Job! You answered all my questions about the Xtreme Recon Package. I have the same opinion: it is less expensive to get the package than it is to add the list of options that the Xtreme Recon Package has. The good part is that you're not going to have all those extra parts that you need to sell or have laying around in the garage.

    • @darrenroos6408
      @darrenroos6408 2 роки тому

      But do you actually need the options that the Xtreme kit comes with if you want to run 35s on a stock Rubicon and how many of those will soon be replaced in the future anyway if you decide to go to 37s?

      @@darrenroos6408 You're right if I upgraded, but I don't plan to. I want 35's instead of 33's. I don't plan to attempt the Rubicon Trail. It would cost at least twice the amount the Rubicon Xtreme Package costs to add on after the initial purchase.
      Besides, Matt said, at the beginning of the video, that this package is for Jeep owners who will not be making a lot of changes to the Rubicon and want to leave it as it is. Well, that is me.

    • @darrenroos6408
      @darrenroos6408 2 роки тому +1

      @@charlessanchez3148 The thing that a lot of people don't seem to understand is that for a stock JL Rubicon you don't next an extra lift and shocks, you don't need different axle gearing, you don't need a reinforced tailgate, you don't need different wheels, and you don't need fender extensions to run 35s on it. It was already designed to fit 35s. In fact, the stock tire carrier is adjustable to relocate the 3rd brake light for 35s and the stock rear bumpers were designed to fit 35s. All you have to do is go to your local tire shop with a standard Rubicon and for less than $1,500 you can get a set of 35s (with a road hazard warranty included).

    On 11-30-2020 I ordered my first ever Jeep. A 2021 JL Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. I got mine with the 3.6 liter Pentastar V-6 with eTorque and an 8 speed automatic transmission. But then a few weeks later Jeep announced the 392 V-8 JLUR. And then in June or July of 2021 they announced the Extreme Recon package. Had both been available to me last November, that is what I would have ordered. The only caveat to that I would say is if you plan to drive through a lot of water you should get the Rubicon... • @danielmiller4354
      @danielmiller4354 2 роки тому +1

      They do fit fine but do some additional research. I was wanting to step up to some 37s as well. You shouldn’t have any issues with it rubbing in the wheel wells when fully articulated since you have that 1.5 inch of clearance. However you may need to run spacers or wheels with an offset. Since on the stock 392 without the Recon package had both rubbing on the tops of the wheel wells. As well as the front tires would rub on the back inside of the tire when full right or left respectively. I mentioned 392s since that’s what I have on order but keep in mind they already sit an inch higher than a stock rubicon. Those sit another inch higher than a sport or any other model. Hope this helped!

    If a person keeps their Jeep on the pavement but wants it to look better than stock, 35" tires will fit on the stock Rubicon without this package anyway. If a person takes their Jeep off-road and wants bigger tires than stock, they typically are going to want 37s and not 35s. If they get this package they cannot upgrade to 37s later without replacing almost everything this package comes with. If 35s is the goal, just put 35s on your stock Rubicon. If 37s is the goal, get the stock Rubicon and spend the $4K on a Mopar 2" lift (which includes Fox shocks), 37" tires, and wheels with the proper offset.

    • @SusquehannaAutomotive
      @SusquehannaAutomotive  2 роки тому

    • @darrenroos6408
      @darrenroos6408 2 роки тому

      @@SusquehannaAutomotive as you know, a Mopar 2" lift can be done by the dealership, keeps the warranty intact, costs less than $4K, allows for up to 37" tires, and comes with Fox shocks instead of those terrible shocks the Xtreme kit comes with. If someone wants to limit or keep their Rubicon to 35s, it already fits 35s without the Xtreme kit so just spend $1,500 on 35" tires at a tire shop where you can get a road hazard warranty (something the Xtreme tires are not covered by anyway) and save the other $2,500 for something else.

    Makes a video about the Xtreme recon Package and doesnt get into some basic specs. This is just a speech every sales guy gives you every buyer hears. 4x4 enthusiasts talk about the gear and why something is better, this guy seem more like a fan than someone who wheels a lot. Yea people buy cheap shit and slap in on their wrangler but the aftermarket world has far superior products than Mopar offers. As far as warranty goes, Jeep has their own issue with axel seals, intake and main seals leaking along with other issues. lifts, wheels and tires won't make your main seal leak before 15k miles. All that set aside, talk about the package because the tired old sales pitch is dead.

    • @SusquehannaAutomotive
      @SusquehannaAutomotive  2 роки тому +1

      I can guarantee you this is not coming from a salesman or someone who has never wheeled. I have personally built and owned YJ, TJ, JK, JL, and Gladiators all with a variety of long arms, axle swaps, coil overs, superchargers, hemi swaps, and much more. This video wasn't intended to give every technical specification of the Xtreme Recon, that will come at a later date. The warranty for most people that will not wheel is something that is very important, and yes the aftermarket has great parts however the availability currently is much different than it used to be.

If this sounded like a sales pitch it may have been because I was genuinely excited for this package, from prior experience getting your Jeep to this level with aftermarket parts and labor would cost more than this package does, and in some cases you warranty could be affected.
