If you're in the US, you haven't heard of her because she was royally screwed over when she made the move to break into the US in 1999. The concert this song is from is called From Lara With Love, and it was filmed in Canada to be released in the US on PBS. She signed with Sony, which was a tragic mistake. Sony was Celine's label, and her management team (not Celine herself) pressured them to force Lara to go a different direction, they couldn't handle her competing for the chanteuse market. It turned into a nightmare for Lara, and it was over before it had barely begun. So if you didn't catch one of her appearances or the concert on tv in that brief time, like so many of us, we are discovering her now. I found her during the 2018 Olympics when a pair of Canadian skaters used Je Suis Malade. I was completely captivated by the voice and immediately went in search of more. She is incredible. It's the greatest rabbit hole in existence. Multi-lingual, multi-genre, composer of the most amazing melodies and lyrics, dancer, actor, and a genuinely phenomenal human being. Enjoy the adventure! I will add, that after the US nightmare she spiraled into a very dark place, even thinking of suicide, but ultimately pulled out of it and wrote what is considered one of her greatest albums, called Nue. There's a concert that was filmed in 2002, you can find it on YT, that is so good and such a complete love fest because her fans wanted her to know how much they love her. There are moments that will take your breath away, even though it's in French (unless you speak French) it won't matter, you will feel it. Welcome to Lara's world!
This whole concert is a master class, I highly recommend it. Called From Lara With Love, it was filmed as part of her attempt to break into the US market in 1999 and shown on PBS. You can find it on YT. The venture sadly failed, not because of Lara but because Sony was horrible in their handling of her, and Celine Dion's management team (not Celine herself) made them push Lara in a different direction and it all fell apart. So we really missed out. But the good news is she is still performing and writing and still amazing because she takes care of her voice, and you have her whole amazing discography to discover. It's the greatest rabbit hole in existence! Enjoy!
Must watch concert , Lara Live , Paris , 2001, this has never, ever happened before. Nor will it ever happen again. You will be blown away . GUARANTEED !!
Another awesome reaction to an outstanding performance to one of my favorite songs by Lara Fabian. Actually, this is the song that introduced her to me. I heard her sing it on Eurovision competition many years ago and was left .... speechless. 😳 I wasn't the only one. 😁
The incomparable Lara. No-one else does such subtle and exquisite nuance and emotion in every note & breath between . Spectacular performance. Please do her Caruso - is even more powerful.
I loved your reaction😁! I'm French and especially a fan of this singer but also of the woman she is😍! When she does something, she does it thoroughly! She sings with her voice, her body and her soul🎤🎶!! A+ 💞
I know her since the 90’s, as I live in Quebec, Canada. Lara was a big star at the time. She was the european equivalent of Céline Dion. I agree, she didn’t get the recognition she deserved, but i’m sure she have a beautiful life and lots and lots of fans.👏
So great to see americans discover at last Lara. Since the 90' she's famous in France, Belgium, Canada, Russia... She tried to start a career in the States without success. She's a great singer and lives every song that she sings.
I know! I can't tell you how excited I was to see you react to her Je Suis Malade. I have loved your channel for a long time, but I never bothered requesting her since I thought you probably get a million requests. I love, love, love how carefully, patiently, and meticulously she built this song from beginning to end. I discovered her myself only a few years ago, and my reaction was just like yours. I was like "Who...What...WHO IS THIS?!?." And a late in life superstan was born. She has top-tier vocal technique, with an enormous toolbox of skills that she employs surgically and precisely to get at the emotional core of each piece. Her emotive stagecraft/storytelling is unlike any I've ever seen. I've only grown to admire her more for her composing and writing the vast majority of her songs (in French, English, Italian and Spanish.) Imo, it's her knowledge of what makes a song work that makes her covers so wonderful as well. Hence, Je Suis Malade is even more impressive, in some ways, for the very effective tweaks she made to the original and her total.success in making it feel completely, authentically in the moment and coming from HER. Astonishing. She's known for her powerful belts and cathedral like resonance (the sympathetic vibration of which we feel in our torsos or face or skull as you mentioned in the vid), but she is rock solid at extremely low volume/slow speed as well. Which is Hard. Her control is Amazing. (Did I mention I am a late-in-life stan? 😆) Which brings me to my recommendation so you can hear her Italian and everything from soft speech/conversational level to huge, ringing belts: Pedere L'Amour from this same concert, From Lara With Love. Others will be recommending her sublime Caruso, which is a must too. But if you'd like to hear the belts, Pedere is where it's at. I think you might enjoy her hommage to Whitney's version of I Will Always Love You from her Pure concert. (She's in a white suit.) She stayed true to WH's interpretation and did herself proud with her buttery belts. So happy my favorite reactor has discovered the singer I'm most intrigued by. Great reactions today! 🖖🏾
Link to Pedere for you ua-cam.com/video/X_Tx5yFzYLU/v-deo.html No English subtitles. New Citizen has a vid, not upscaled, with good English subs onscreen if you'd like.
Whitney Houston is not the original singer of "I Will Always Love You." Miss Dolly Parton is. Dolly also wrote the song, BTW. And you would do yourself a favor by listening to her version. As good as Whitney's was, Dolly's original was superior. This is from 1974; the song was written as her goodbye to Porter Wagoner, the host of the show she sang on. ua-cam.com/video/rGs1soJT9gE/v-deo.html.

She speaks like 5 languages fluently and sings in 11... she's amazing! She was here in the states briefly in 2000... she had the top dance song on the billboard whatever... song is called 'I will love again '...maybe you'll recognize it. Her stay in the States was short due to political bs from Sony...who also had a contract with Celine. Anyways...stick to her live performances....you can't go wrong....Caruso, Tango, Broken Vow, Perdere L'Amour ....list goes on and on!! I will edit a link to her big hit here back in the day, not for you to review but to see if you remember her: ua-cam.com/video/IxC8MZ1RS-c/v-deo.html
Lara is a totally awesome singer who was born in Belgium on January 9/70 who's sold over 30 million records world wide. I believe she currently lives in Montreal. I just wanted to pass along another female singer named 'Jennifer Rush' who also has a great voice. I'm not sure many people really know about her, however, she co-wrote the song 'The Power Of Love' which was probably made a little more famous by Celine Dion's cover version. Jennifer, born in Queens, NY and is very popular in Europe. (Look for Jennifer's best 6:00 min. 'Power Of Love' song version). Other very good notable Jennifer songs are: 1) Destiny 2) Ring Of Ice 3) I Come Undone 4) If You're Ever Going To Lose My Love. Enjoy!
I just tripped over the fact that people have broken a few of the concerts apart and put them up here and you good sir are reviewing them. Decades ago i heard not from here in a friends car that i borrowed and about drove off the road. Not a good time in life. and then life happened... decades later getting to rediscover who imo, is one of the greatest talents, in so many ways. So classy, so beautiful, so humble. A good human. If you pay close attention as I have started to after watching some of these basically non stop this last week through the tears, you can see that she is so filled with emotion, passion, and like she literally closes her eyes and zones off into the stratosphere where we are lucky enough to hear her fly. I can only offer that if you want to appreciate a talent like this, and many others, take out the ear buds.... goto a quality based store and get a set of cans ( headphones ) and a decent soundcard. That's the cheap option, you can go down the rabbit hole like anything in life and go into near live performance audio if your able to afford it. Whatever you can afford to do, we can all afford to be good human beings to each other before it's to late. God Bless you all.
Lara has one of the most sensational voices and every time she sings, she lives in the song! You must not lose to react to "Je suis malade" from the same concert, it is quite an experience!
Caruso, Broken Vow. These performances were from the year 2000 when Lara's voice and beauty were at their peak. She was 30 years old. Celine, Whitney, Mariah...Lara tops them all in evoking emotion when she sings. Her idols are Barbra Streisand and Freddie Mercury. The rumour is that Celine Dion's people sabotaged Lara from becoming a star in America. Sony records never gave her the promotional push here. Celine didn't want the competition. But Lara's fans across the globe have undying love for this woman.
Oh my gosh, that is so very heart breaking if it's true...💔 😢 Wow, to think anyone could do something so low. And, as far as I'm concerned she is better than Céline Dion, a little bit, but still, there could have been room for both of them to shine.

Great reaction!!!! Awesome - 2 Lara reactions in a row. Thank you. A couple of more reactions from her and you will not be able to get out from under her spell as she plays with your emotions at will. The best ever. Lara is divine, the Queen of resonance, ring, range, passion, stage presence, pitch, control, diction, and technique all in 12 languages. Other than that she is not very good.
Yes, Lara and Dimash sing together with an additional singer called Aida. It’s called Ti amo cosi ( I love you so) . It’s a operatic song, very beautiful
I found her through Jackie Evancho, for whom Lara Fabian re-wrote the lyrics of "Broken Vow" and renamed it "Imaginer" to be more age-appropriate for her.
You should react to Ti Amo Cosi. It is a beautiful song. It features Dimash, Lara Fabian and Aida Garafullina. Aida's voice is phenomenal also. There is also Igor Krutoy on piano.
Well: You said it, you could listen to Lara Fabian all day long. So my request is this: Simply react to _any_ Lara Fabian song you can find. :) I dare you! :)
Jamal... thanks for the reaction my friend. Lara, Lara Lara, her name itself is music. Just how she has found out what is in my heart then sings about it I'll never know. And it's been years now, but the crying jags have not let up. Time perhaps for that 12 step program 😉
Lorraine L0C0vision 0 seconds ago Lara wrote a song for Dimash with his very famous piano player Igor Kutroy called “Your Love.” My all time favorite Lara songs are “Je Susie Malade” and “Broken Vow.” Dimash does sing with her and another famous opera singer on “Te Amo Cosi.” But also treat yourself to the passionate performance she gives with Johnny Halliday singing “Requiem Pour Un Fou.” Thank you so much for this authentic reaction and don’t be afraid of the Lara Fabian rabbit hole!!!
Jamel my brother, It’s been awhile since UA-cam sent me a reaction video of your’s. I thought you might find this intriguing: The song Adagio instrumental was originally written in 1685. Over the years there have been adaptations to the song, most were were key changes. Lara is the first person to put lyrics to the song, in English & Italian. Lara & Gabriel Henrique (from Brazil) are buddies. Lara, Gabriel, Sarah Beatrice. I think there was another person? Anyway, being fluent in Portuguese were on a video call cutting up singing sort of round robin. Lara has an incredible since of humor, beautiful on the inside out. *Lara was a fixture on the EuroPop Rock Chart. She did a cover of Dolly Parton’s “I will Always Love You”, she stuck primarily to Whitney’s version until the section where the saxophone came in, Lara had an electric guitar player feature instead. Spread ❤️&✌🏼. Timothy in Tallahassee, Florida 😎🌴
Thanks for reacting! I discovered Dimash via Lara Fabian, now I feel old..She wrote many of the songs he performed, other artists have covered her song "Broken Vow" many times, and indeed Lara and Dimash sang together with Aida Garifullina, with another memorable long note at the end: "Ti amo cosi": ua-cam.com/video/XaQFfqC3lnU/v-deo.html

I know of this song because of Malmsteen when he did it in the 1990's. I had a gut feeling that I knew of the sound of the song and it seemed familiar to me but I didn't investigate because it was the 1990's. Cell phone and internet was durrr... I loved it and I thought it might be his version or new. I didn't know for sure. I have since then learned it was an old song he borrowed from. I love all versions of this song. :)
Just voicing my opinion. If Lara had had more promotion by her USA record company, you might have never heard of Celine Dion. Remember "I Will Love Again?" No disrespect to Dion, just that the two vocalists sound so alike. Thinking about what really happened to Terry Stafford sounding so similar to Elvis Presley. Record companies don't want to push similar sounding vocalists. This performance can bring me to tears.
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee The US record companies selected Lara over Sissel simple as that. So your assumption is false. Celine was the generational talent? (of forgive me Celine among the US Divas She is my favorite. But the truth is the truth), Is she a full pledge songwriter like Lara or dependent on other songwriters? How about level of artistry? How about song interpretation? How about performance and stage presence wise? I mean everyone who has observed her several times will recognized that she is a complete package. Not only the ultimate Diva but also a vocal phenomenal. People who are exposed to her are not blind.
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee Who is Sissel? I have never heard that name. Celine was already well established when Lara tried to make the move to the US. It ended up being a tragic choice for her when she chose to go with Sony. Celine's management team (not Celine herself) couldn't handle the competition and made Sony push Lara in a different direction. The whole thing fell apart and Lara went home broken. There are interviews where she talks very openly about all of this.
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee Yes. Because Lara did not exist way back then. (not in their US music industry map) Not because he was the first one to one selected over Lara. So dont put emphasis that Sissel was the one selected over LAra statement sir.
Stickman, Celine is a great singer but Lara is another level.. Technique, breath control, dynamic, passion, interpretation, diction, perfect pitch, a full package. She writes her own music and lyrics and live and embody the song like Anyone else in this world. If Celine had no Tony Mottola behind her... Well.. You wouldn't talk now

Enjoy!
Shes beautiful beautiful a beautiful beast!!. Keep on reacting to her!
Must check out “Caruso” and yes Lara And Dimash have done a duet together
Must watch concert , Lara Live , Paris , 2001, this has never, ever happened before. Nor will it ever happen again. You will be blown away . GUARANTEED !!
Lara Fabian is so talented and always brings the passion to her songs
I can listen to her all day long too lol
Lara is amazing. 😶
One of my fav are Broken Vow, Caruso,
Tu t’en vas( you are leaving), Tout (All)…
Another awesome reaction to an outstanding performance to one of my favorite songs by Lara Fabian.
That lady can sing!! Beautiful voice!
Una de las mejores cantantes ...gracias
I loved your reaction😁! I'm French and especially a fan of this singer but also of the woman she is😍! When she does something, she does it thoroughly! She sings with her voice, her body and her soul🎤🎶!! A+ 💞
Her beautiful voice, her breath control and the way she imparts emotion is on the highest level. Oh, and her looks.
I know her since the 90’s, as I live in Quebec, Canada. Lara was a big star at the time. She was the european equivalent of Céline Dion.
I agree, she didn’t get the recognition she deserved, but i’m sure she have a beautiful life and lots and lots of fans.👏
I adore her she is unbelievable good!
Des frissons là Voix de Lara dans cette chanson sublimement interprétée ❤ et votre réaction bouleversante est vraiment touchante ❤
Which brings me to my recommendation so you can hear her Italian and everything from soft speech/conversational level to huge, ringing belts: Pedere L'Amour from this same concert, From Lara With Love.
Link to Pedere for you ua-cam.com/video/X_Tx5yFzYLU/v-deo.html
No English subtitles.
@@davidcullen6797 Respectfully, I am very aware of all that. Hence why I clearly wrote "Whitney's version." and "WH's interpretation".
Do yourself a favor, and dont approach strangers and their comments from the assumption that they are ignorant. Or at least try to gracefully suss out whether they are, in fact, in dire need of your edumacation before dispensing it. 👍
Yes, I am prickly today unrelated to youtube comments. But really, it shouldn't be that difficult to tone police our own comments in advance of posting, right?
She's just spectacular!
You could tell right at the end just how much energy, emotion, and passion she put into the performance
Love it Jamel … LARA & DIMASH SANG “ TI AMO COSI” it’s on Dimash’s official UA-cam channel. LARA ALSO co-wrote “OUR LOVE” for Dimash. They’re close friends now. To be clear she’s NEXT LEVEL. ✌️♥️
Well done my friend and thank you for react to the Queen Lara Fabian....You saw her Singing in French and now in English, so PLEASE react to Lara Singing in Italian (her mother's language)...Remember that she speaks 8 languages, but when she is Singing in italian, she Blown away your Brain....Here are two of her italian performances: CARUSO (1999 LIVE VERSION) and PERDERE L'AMORE (1999 LIVE VERSION)....Amazing both!!!
@Fedor Ivanov Thank you my friend...I think that I have to contact you one day because we both love the Queen Lara Fabian...Maybe we can found a Lara's fan club, je, je, je!!...And I have to say that I have seen some of yours links because they have high quality...Thank you again....Here you have a little gift from my country ua-cam.com/video/_K-Gtb_ywfg/v-deo.html
@Fedor Ivanov Спасибо, мой друг
@Fedor Ivanov My friend Fedor, here you have another gift from my country....It is a video series of one a nice woman from Russia....This is the Capter #1, but you can all the serie in her channel....I hope you like it.....You don't know, may be in the future you can come to visit us......ua-cam.com/video/BCGkQqFOks4/v-deo.html
I love her sooooo much ! Thank you for sharing 😉👍👍👍
I'm so glad you finally have Lara on your channel. I think I suggested her months ago but never thought you'd get to her. It doesn't matter what language she is singing in, she'll pull you in! Lara Fabian is a huge star around the world and should've been huge here in the States. I will edit a link to her big hit here back in the day, not for you to review but to see if you remember her: ua-cam.com/video/IxC8MZ1RS-c/v-deo.html
Just when I wanted to suggest that one , I already find it here !
Wow she's simply AWESOME!!!!!
Lara is a totally awesome singer who was born in Belgium on January 9/70 who's sold over 30 million records world wide. I
believe she currently lives in Montreal.
I just wanted to pass along another female singer named 'Jennifer Rush' who also has a great voice. I'm not sure many people really know
about her, however, she co-wrote the song 'The Power Of Love' which was probably made a little more famous by Celine Dion's cover version.
Jennifer, born in Queens, NY and is very popular in Europe. (Look for Jennifer's best 6:00 min. 'Power Of Love' song version). Other very good
notable Jennifer songs are: 1) Destiny 2) Ring Of Ice 3) I Come Undone 4) If You're Ever Going To Lose My Love.
He already has.
@@fryke Yes, thank you. I saw it afterwards
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee I wouldn't think Mariah and Christina were in adult contemporary. Lara, yes.
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee The year 1999-2000. Mariah aint with Sony yet, and Christina shes just like Britney Spears. You should watch her documentary here is the link ua-cam.com/video/lg2iVHP3GOY/v-deo.html
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee She didnt left Sony. But there were irreconcilable differences, Sony wanted her in a different genre. Maybe you should watch the documentary first.
My absolute favorite song from my favorite singer
Great reaction!!!! Awesome - 2 Lara reactions in a row. Thank you. A couple of more reactions from her and you will not be able to get out from under her spell as she plays with your emotions at will. The best ever. Lara is divine, the Queen of resonance, ring, range, passion, stage presence, pitch, control, diction, and technique all in 12 languages. Other than that she is not very good.
I love your comment.... other than that she is not very good.... Ha! 😁 She's just so gifted in every way, isn't she. ♥️
Jamel Lara is like a murmaid just love her talent. wow
No duets but a trio about two years ago. It’s called Ti Amo Cosi! It’s gorgeous.
СПАСИБО👍👍👍ОНА НЕ ПРОСТО ПОЕТ..ОНА ЖИВЕТ В ПЕСНЕ..ТАКОЙ КЛАСС,а я всегда 😭😭😭
You should react to Ti Amo Cosi. It is a beautiful song. It features Dimash, Lara Fabian and Aida Garafullina. Aida's voice is phenomenal also. There is also Igor Krutoy on piano.
She really knows how to interpret a song! Great voice!❤
Hi Jamel.
Love your reactions til Lara Fabian 💖
Love Lara 💖
Love from Denmark 💖
Well: You said it, you could listen to Lara Fabian all day long. So my request is this: Simply react to _any_ Lara Fabian song you can find. :) I dare you! :)
Im so glad Lara is on your channel!!! 😁
Hello very perfect singer best of the best amazing thank you good day all people kiss and love all people
Jamal... thanks for the reaction my friend. Lara, Lara Lara, her name itself is music. Just how she has found out what is in my heart then sings about it I'll never know. And it's been years now, but the crying jags have not let up. Time perhaps for that 12 step program 😉
She sings in 8 different languages. She is amazing.
Actually 12 different languages, flawlessly
Check out Lara Fabian singing Caruso. The live version with translation is excellent since it's in Italian.. She is amazing...
Love finding new artists on your channel!
What a voice, fantastic!

Lara wrote a song for Dimash with his very famous piano player Igor Kutroy called “Your Love.” My all time favorite Lara songs are “Je Susie Malade” and “Broken Vow.”
Dimash does sing with her and another famous opera singer on “Te Amo Cosi.”
But also treat yourself to the passionate performance she gives with Johnny Halliday singing “Requiem Pour Un Fou.”
Thank you so much for this authentic reaction and don’t be afraid of the Lara Fabian rabbit hole!!!
You want the version of Requiem filmed outside. It’s amazing!!!
Must do “Caruso” next (from same performance)....BEAUTIFUL 😁
Thank you God becose i live and hear something beautiful like this ...thank you God🥰🥰🙏🙏😢
Yikes! I have, literally, been listening to Ms. Fabian all day, Jamal. She's amazing! Beautifully trained, natural talent, and just a bit of Janis Joplin.
Wow wow wow she took me to another place another realm that i dint know exsist it
Broken vow is awesome. Also live.
Yes ! They did a duet + another singer ..just look for Dimash & Lara Fabian and will find it on you tube. When i listen both sing goospumps after goospumps ...🥰😢😢👍🇷🇴
Pure talent ❤️
Have you heard of the Norwegian singing sensation and national treasure Sissel? Check out her stunningly beautiful version of "Adagio": ua-cam.com/video/0F8qJUZZ0hg/v-deo.html
Your expression at the end :) ..... Every time I hear her 👍
... as stated somewhere else: she could SANG me the phone book in Swahili - I'd still listen in awe ;-D
The Crystal voice
I know of this song because of Malmsteen when he did it in the 1990's.
I had a gut feeling that I knew of the sound of the song and it seemed familiar to me but I didn't investigate because it was the 1990's. Cell phone and internet was durrr...
I loved it and I thought it might be his version or new. I didn't know for sure. I have since then learned it was an old song he borrowed from.
I love all versions of this song.
:)
Breathtakingly emotional!
Like Wendy Moten and Whitney Houston!
Well.. You wouldn't talk now
Check out Lara's Caruso live performance in Italian. View the one from New Citizen with English Language subtitles. Also Broken Vow live. Then view her live performance of Je t'aime in Paris. You've never seen anything like it.
Hello
You can test : you’re not from here and broken wow
2 very beautiful songs
Kiss from France 🇫🇷
Hello Lara and dimash have never performed this song together. the only time they met on stage was on tiamo Cosi. otherwise there are virtual montages well done or both sing the same song
She and Dimash haven’t sung this together, but the have sung Ti Amo Cosi with another singer together...it was wonderful! It’s on his channel.
I loooove her version of Caruso, one of my favorite songs of all time and I really love her song You´re not from here. Also it´s worth watching her Je´Taime performance in Paris - there is a little surprise. My wish came true that you finally discovered this gem and now Im waiting for your BTS journey and for you becoming Army. LOL :D My life will be complete then. LOL :D
I remember the first time I heard her, it was this song, in Italian though, back in 1999. I first thought it was Celine Dion singing, but quickly found a new great voice to listen to.
The melody is from the piece Adagio for strings by Barber. Beautiful voice.🥰
not Barber, Albinoni.

Lara Fabian IS the original version, she wrote the lyrics.
There's a song called Ti Amo cosí sung by Lara Fabian, Dimash and Aida Garifullina. You should take a look at it.
Aloha! Thank you! Beautiful!
She's from Belgium en sing most in french. She live in Québec Canada where she's a voice singer like many here.
Her version of Adagio in Italian 🇮🇹
Is majestic too, you must listen it 🙏😉

she sings in at least 12 languages and is fluent in 4
Next up Lara Fabian "Caruso" in italian with english subtitles. also check out Pavarotti's version of Caruso (English subtitles). Both incredible performances
Amazing as ever
My love are you see that i dont know how to react on your things i love your channel but i never here something from maybe because i am from curacao a small island🇨🇼🇨🇼❤️❤️love lara
Lara is an incredible and complete artist. Please react to "Caruso" in Italian, live with English subtitles.
Unbelievable!
You know that she wrote this song, both in english and italian, back in 1999.
You should know that Lara's voice as well has Celine Dion's were been studeed by scientists back in the days, what they found was lara's voice waves were therapeutic and actually could cure diseases, Celine voice is beautiful too but didn't have that particular property.
You MUST listen to the Italian version. The English one is beautiful but the Italian is unbelievable! If you like what she does, you have to check out how she expresses this in her mother tongue. It's soooo pure.
Hope all is well Jamel. Did a search and unless I somehow missed it, surprised you've never reacted to any songs by The B-52's. Many fun, groovy tunes such as Love Shack, Roam and Rock Lobster I think you'd enjoy.
