Agree. I've always loved Celine and Whitney, but when I discovered Lara 20-25 years ago she's been the top singer. In my opinion, she's the Queen of communication emotions through music (and Aurora and others coming now) - just listen to how she uses breathing as a tool to comunicate in the songs...
Lara is one of a kind. She is the queen of emotions. One of the greatest performers of the last thirty years. I hope you will continue your discovery of this fabulous singer.
Lara Fabian is an amazing vocalist, an exceptional songwriter and an incredible performer. She speaks and write songs in 4 languages (French, Italian, English and Spanish) and has sung in 12 ! And she is a great soul, smart and funny, very humble and benevolent. In 2000, she started to be promoted by Sony as the 4th member of the vocal trinity, US media were referring to her as the new Barbra Streisand or the new Celine Dion. This amazing concert is full of incredible masterpieces that became classics and were covered by the greatests such as Barbra Streisand or Josh Groban, and are now covered by all the top names from the new generation (from Dimash to Floor to Morissette Amon to Forestella to ...). It was recorded by PBS and was supposed to be broadcasted to kick off her US career. It did scare Celine's staff that pressured Sony execs to divert Lara away from ballads and move to pop dance. Lara made one such song, I will love again, which stayed #1 on the US Club Dance Billboard for 58 weeks in a row. But Lara was not ok with this inflection. So she broke with Sony and refocused on Europe, Central Asia (and also Brazil) where she is considered a star. She is the idol of Dimash since he is a child and he covered several of her songs. She is also an inspiration for Diana Ankudinova and many others. She still sings amazingly today, she had 5 concerts in Canada last month and was stunning. You should check other songs from this incredible concert using this playlist with HQ videos and english subtitles when needed ua-cam.com/play/PLV-BfzP9ln4xyPy8l43ag7hd20S9PeNiE.html I recommended: - Je suis malade (French) - Broken Vow (English) - You are not from here (English) - Caruso (Italian) - Perdere L'Amore (Italian) - Love by Grace (English) - I will love again (English) I will post another comment with more details on Lara's background and career, and the covers from the new generation of vocalists.
More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish), can speak a bit of sicilian, russian and dutch, and has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music with the composer. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens. A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, her father is flemish, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia). She was raised in both countries so she speaks both french and italian as native languages. She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She now lives in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music). In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary and the song you just reviewed is from this concert. But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar thru her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, … With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there. Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her. She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep. He covered many of her songs (that she performed originally ; she also wrote some of these). Out of my mind I can list: ○ Adagio, ○ Mademoiselle Hyde, ○ Know/Vocalise/Ascolta La voce ○ Love of tired swans She also wrote the lyrics of his song « Your Love ». And she covered « Love is like a dream » before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva). They also performed Ti Amo Cosi together with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitriy Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy who came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs: ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio), ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime), ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie, Know), ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow), ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace), ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow), ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow), ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow), ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime), ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you), ○ Julie Anne san Jose (Broken Vow), ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso), ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie), ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow), ○ Amir (Je t’aime), ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade), ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade), ○ .... Today, she still has an amazing voice and tone and can still reach the 5th octave with resonance ; she still offers these emotive renditions that are her unique signature. In June 2022, she kicked off a WW tour and stunned her fans once again with 5 magical concerts in Canada. Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.
Well, this reaction came up on my feed again and it didn't indicate that I had already watched it. But when I clicked on it, I could see that I already given it a thumbs up; but how in the world could I not have left a comment before?! This is just fabulous! She does just as well as Dimash did on this song. And I checked there are a number of duets with Dimash and Lara! Just put that into the YT search bar and they'll all come up. They are phenomenal together also!
Congratulations my friend Bob!!...It was a wonderful rendition to The Goddess Lara Fabian and thank you for follow my recommendation to meeting her...She is considered one the Fourth All Time Vocal Trinity (with Whitney, Mariah and Celine) and one of the Best Female Singers of the last decades but in my personal opinion she is the best!!... Remember that she speaks and composes in 5 languages and sings in more than 15 languages....That's why she is the Dimash's idol and an inspiration for several singers around the world...You can see covers of her songs on UA-cam made by singers of the stature of: Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Polina Gagarina, Forestella, Julie Anne San Jose, Sissel Kyrkjebo, Floor Jansen, Diana Navarro, Giulia Falcone, Morissette Amon, Gabriel Henrique, Rimar, Katrina Velarde, Cakra Khan and others...Please react to her songs, all masterpieces, in LIVE versions, because Lara is more impressive when she sings live, so you can see why she is the idol of Dimash...Try to do it in this order and almost all songs are from the same Lara’s concert “From Lara With Love” in Montreal 1999, one of her best works: 1) Je Suis Malade (Singing in French)...2) Caruso (Singing in Italian)...3) Je T'AIME (2002 Live version in Paris Singing in French)...4) Perdere L'Amore (1999 Live version Singing in Italian)...5) Adagio (1999 Live version singing in english)...6) Broken Vow (1999 Live version singing in English)...7) You are Not From Here (1999 Live version singing in English)...8) Quédate (1999 Live version singing in Spanish)....9) Ti Amo Cosi (2019 Live version Singing a trío with Dimash and Aida Garifullina)....I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Lara...Here you have the link of her amazing performance of the song “Je Suis Malade”....ua-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/v-deo.html
Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and was translated into a pop song for Lara. She wrote lyrics in english and italian for it and is the original performer. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration. This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash, Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, … They made great covers but none of these match the storytelling amazing performance of Lara in this concert From Lara with Love. Her italian version is also amazing.
Exelente reaccíon!Obra maestra de Lara Fabían,única y sin comparación alguna!Lara Fabían,la mejor cantante e interprete del mundo,la voz de Cristal mas bella y perfecta que existe!Por favor reaccíone a Caruso,Je suis malade,You're not from here,To love again,I guess i loved you,Tomorrow is a lie,Mademoiselle Hide!Gracías!
Well said! Next...Je suis Malade, Caruso, Perdere L'amore, Broken Vow & many more. And English caption is a must coz she is the best story teller vocalist
Myself, Celine does nothing for me. Lara blows me away, gives me chills. Her voice is stunning, her emotional delivery amazing. You were saying all that before the second part of the song - I'm laughing to myself.... Wait for it... 😂😂😂
Dimash cites Lara as one of his great inspirations while studying. He was thrilled to finally perform with her { Ti Amo Cosi }. Many professional singers view Lara's performances as Master Classes. She is way up there with a very small handful of the best of the best. You are right, she thoroughly immerses herself in each song and 'lives' the storyline. That facility to passionately give her all - note by note - breath by breath - is the mark of a great and mesmerising artist. She exquisitely rides that very fine line in her performances of delivering the emotion without being overwhelmed by it. Adagio was originally written as an instrumental piece, but Lara, who is also a great songwriter ( see her 'Broken Vow' ) heard 'the voice' in the stringed section & wrote these lyrics. Her 'Je Suis Malade' and 'je taime' are stunning - but I suggest you go straight to her version of 'Caruso'. Strap yourself in! In my humble view no-one has ever done it better. Enjoy Lara! : )
Comparing the two singers on the presuption that life experience affects performance ability, I feel that Celine is actually quite shy to reveal her emotions, or doesn't feel too comfortable around people. She doesn't have Lara's life experience ( remember Rene was her first, and effectively life-long love, plus he sheltered her whole life until he passed). Lara seems more open and gregarious and has acting ability. She was on her own away from her home country from an early age, and had lots of relationships and more experience in life. Plus a singing voice quality that lends itself to emotion
Hey Frank. You might very well be right. I have the utmost respect for Celine, I just don't enjoy her music all that much. It's just me, not a slam on her in any way.
Thank you for finding Lara and her masterpiece Adagio. You are now officially caught in her web of magic, and will want to listen again and again, to fall under her spell. Resistance is futile, you are screwed! I have subscribed and look forward to seeing you react to Lara again as you fall down her rabbit hole. Your analysis was spot on by the way. Thanks again. Phil
You just haven't seen enough of Celine Dion. Celine is an amazing performer. Worth checking. Lara is amazing as well. I love both. I hope you will be open to reacting to Celine. Her performance of The Power Of Love at the Juno Awards or her performance of Calling You live in Paris will be a good start.
This performance is from 1999 from the concert ""Lara whit love""....Lara wrote the lyrics for thes song in English an in Italian ....just like she wrote the lyrics of many songs of her owns songs in two or tree languages ...Some songs she composed and singe in french, english, italian and even spanish and portugees .......Lara Fabian has such a powerful beautiful velvet voice in al her rangers that i can listen tot her the whole day! ....""candy for the ear liquit gold for the ear" one of the many voice teachers ever said ...In may opinion Lara's voice is more beautiful than the voice of Celine ..In 1988 she sang for Luxemburg in the european song contest ..That same year 1988 Celine Dion sang for Switerland for the same concest...Celine won, Lara became 4 th ......Lara is very famous in Canada, Europe , Brasil and in Russia ....Lara was by the same record compagny, Sony, like Celine. The team of Celine have done every effort to not let succede Lara at the American market ....Thats why you have ever heard of her while she singes already 30 years ....;Many people classify her by singers as Celine, Whitny, Mariah and Barbara Strysant ..........She was an inspiration, example an idol for many singers the next 20 years and sure for Dimash .....Many of her songs are covert worlwide and Lara has sung whit many other geat singers of that time .....
👉 For non musicians: The language of music is Italian. Adagio is an Italian word and is used in music to denote tempo, meaning: 'calm', 'slow'. In this song, adagio roughly means: If it is to be, then it will be. This song belongs in Lara Fabian's repertoire, a world-famous singer and songwriter. That is a classical baroque melody that cannot be assigned to any particular artist with certainty. Today it is one of the most popular works of “classical music”. Camilo Sesto wrote 1985 the original lyrics in Spanish but Lara wrote the lyrics in Italian and English. The composers Rick Allison, Dave Pickell and Lara Fabian arranged the piece into a pop song. Lara Fabian is a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child Dimash wanted to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and the dream came true of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoy in 2019. * Dimash - Adagio - The Singer 2017 - ua-cam.com/video/m41Kafa14ro/v-deo.html * Trio (Lara, Aida Garifullina, Dimash) -'Ti Amo Cosi / I Love You So' - ua-cam.com/video/XaQFfqC3lnU/v-deo.html * Lara Fabian - Mademoiselle Hyde - ua-cam.com/video/DuSDdjU4S8Mv/v-deo.html=hCyej7qrwWY * Dimash - Mademoiselle Hyde - ua-cam.com/video/mRIOIiVLuIk/v-deo.html
nice reaction and you hit several important points, congratulations also for the voice. I prefer Lara, because she has technique but also gives emotions like none
Lara is a force of nature! Loved your reaction and insightful comments, thank you! She wrote the lyrics to this beautiful piece of music, which has an interesting backstory in itself. For many years it was attributed to a 17th century Baroque composer named Tomasso Albinoni, and the piece is still known as "Albinoni's Adagio in G minor", or just "Albinoni's Adagio". Albinoni's biographer (named Giazotto) published the sheet of music in 1958, claiming that he had found the manuscript after WW2, through a library in Dresden whose buildings had been completely destroyed by the bombing raids of Feb/March 1945. Since it was publshed, it was widely performed, and used in many classical films (including the 1991 film The Doors), so even ppl who don't use to listen to classical music might find the tune familiar. Anyway, the years passed, and as Giazotto refused to show the alleged discovered manuscript to anyone, it is now believed that although Albinoni has this piece forever linked to his name as one of his most beautiful ones, he actually had little input in the composition, and that the music was most likely written by Giazotto himself 200 years after Albinoni died. This is the Albinoni's Adagio, if somebody wants to hear it ua-cam.com/video/kn1gcjuhlhg/v-deo.html Lara put lyrics to the music, and made a more modern arrangement (the original is for organ and strings), making a beautiful song.
Great reaction Bob as usual! You should check out Lara singing The Love of Tired Swans, which is composed by Igor Krutoy.Lara and Dimash have both sung it ,it's in Russian.I think it's gorgeous,Igor sure can compose a lovely melody.
She is the real beast live. Her performances from the same concert as this song are insane! "Je Suis Malade" --> ua-cam.com/video/uGthVEza97U/v-deo.html "You're not from here" --> ua-cam.com/video/Vv8XFXKXRLI/v-deo.html "Perdere l'Amore" --> ua-cam.com/video/jJ_k43OOsXU/v-deo.html "Caruso" --> ua-cam.com/video/BP2KnLemT78/v-deo.html
This version of Je suis malade has no English translation.... Do NOT USE... Many videos of this song have the translation which is much better for those who wish to understand what the song is about.
I so agree with you about Celine and the the difference between the two. It is interesting, but Lara was on target to become as popular as Celine in Canada and America but was sort of shutout by Celine's husband and manager who had some say so in all of it. So Lara is huge in Europe and it her lack of mainstream success in America is only our loss as, to me, she is one of the best singers on the planet. I prefer So Hyang only by a bit, but Lara has some of the greatest live performances I have ever seen. She is so authentic. Thanks for your reaction! I will leave a link of another incredible song by her, 'Je Suis Malade', complete with English subtitles. I feel it is her best performances of a lifetime of great ones! ua-cam.com/video/dVvlmpo5g9k/v-deo.html
Fellow Sohyang fan here. Agree with you on Lara's supreme skills and expressiveness both vocally and dramatically, and just loving Sohyang a bit more (because of her true emotions at all times). I think Sohyang would have needed to become more of a performer if she has gone into music contracts earlier. Her staying away from them has allowed her to sing what she really wants, most of which is personal and even spiritually motivated.
I appreciate you my brother. I absolutely agree with you in reference to this Celine Dion observation. I believe Lara Fabian to be the greatest female voice on planet Earth and the way she projects a song is like no other! More please. Until next time stay well. And by the way the best male voice on planet Earth is David Phelps. Songs like no more night. Just as I am. Mio babbino Caro. Water. The dream. Never Walk Alone. Nessun Dorma. And many more. Thanks again brother I appreciate the way you did the video and respected the viewer
Thanks for a great reaction! Now check out her "Je suis malade" performance next! Mindblowing! And english subtitles of that song are definitely a must! Thx!
Wow, another talented person. Yes, I'm glad that I finally gave her video a chance. LOVED IT. I played it numerous times after I finished my reaction. I understand the tears!!! LOL Thanks so much for the listen. I really appreciate it.
OMG… I saw her name on your reaction list and thought it looked familiar. I have this CD! I used to listen to it all the time in 1999 but forgot all about her as I am constantly seeking out new music. A positive outcome of that is finding artists like Aurora! I have never seen her perform live and this was so much better then the CD. HOLY CRAP THAT WAS GOOD! The comment you made about how she was in the end about coming back to reality is what I see with Aurora. In fact, there is another reactor that actually has analyzed Aurora on that very subject and you are right… I noticed the same thing you did with Lara. I saw an interview with Aurora when she remarked at how shocked she was to see herself act as if she was having a seizure but she cant help it. In addition to the analyst reaction I just watched another reactor of Aurora’s who is from Mexico and he described her movements as “painting the song”. Never thought of it like that but it really is true! The analyst reactor for Murder song has a couple ua-cam.com/video/1Joar8Mb_zk/v-deo.html and a follow up ua-cam.com/video/J3a_lme7eVY/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/W3VdH0nqOH0/v-deo.html and for It Happened Quiet ua-cam.com/video/tdPsCbVEz2k/v-deo.html
Lara has many songs that can just bring you tears, so this one is originally sung and perhaps written by her. It is a classic from way back in the day that words have at last been added to. Dimash’s version of this is unbelievable. Lara is Dimash’s idol that he was brought up under, and he sings quite a few of her and Igor Krutoy’s songs. These three have all been using some of the same works over the years and in conjunction with each other’s works.
Just sharing, Her biggest influences were Barbra Streisand (Vocal prowess) and Freddy Mercury/Van Halen(lesser extent) (Passion for music). Phil Collins considered her as eventually and arguably the best voice in the world, and a lot considered her among the best. In terms of overall talents, (artistry, vocal prowess, songwriting ability, stage performance, beauty, etc)......she is a complete package that is unmatched.
Excellent reaction. I couldn't help to notice your vinyl cover with Deep purple. And I could trace an "old" rocker in you as in myself. We have been spoiled with excellent singers like Ian Gillan, Glenn Hughes, john Lawton, David Byron to mention some of them. So I guess I'm pretty picky with voices. But this woman blows me away! And you describe it very well, that she feel so real and so natural in her performance. She don't perform, she just let her feelings out in her songs. Really amazing! Thanks and have a great day!
@@ModernLifeForThe70sMind They were killers, and even if Lara is in a more soft and tearbringing genre she has that solid class, technical and emotional. She cuts through even to an old rocker. Cheers!
You can see how Lara has been such a great influence on Dimash. And as said you must check out Je Suis Malade from the same concert. But don't forget for a real treat the two together at a concert for Igor Krotoy with Ti Amo Cosi !
Perdonatemi l'italiano, capisco abbastanza l'inglese ma non so esprimermi bene in inglese. Strepitosa cantante, conosciuta grazie a Dimash.
Your rich bass voice was a shock to me. That rumble at the bottom is something else. If you were a singer it would be something to hear. Appreciate your review. I am actually more pleased by Lara's voice than Celine's, though she's sang great modern classics.
Good day to you Bob ! I’m new here. Jolly great radio voice you have ! Been doing music for 50 years now and was raised with the same influences shown behind your back. Rediscovered Lara’s masterful career only a year and a half ago and never seen a more complete and true artist. Have a look at ‘’ Requiem Pour Un Fou ‘’ with eng. sub. recommended by other comments. There is 294 différents more songs of hers on YT. Can’t miss ! Subscribed ! Thanks !
@@ModernLifeForThe70sMind Lara has been singing live since she was 14 and at 52 now, she has 415 songs in her catalogue ( including different versions, languages, covers and originals, duets, etc ). She sang with Dimash K., Johnny Halliday, Phil Collins, Seal, Josh Groban, John Williams ( Steven Spildberg’ s movie Ai ) and many more. Beside reaction-wise and taste, she’s a must to enquire further ! Thanks !
Dimash idol is Lara and she worked with the famous Russian composer Igor Krutoy Dimash has done several of Igor’s songs and so has Lara 20 years ago. There is a collaboration with both and Igor at the piano and it’s on Dimash’s channel. AMAZING
Lara has another friend “Gabriel Henrique” from Brazil. He is Dimash type talent level: His UA-cam channel is the same as his name “Gabriel Henrique”. He has a cover of Foreigner/Mariah Carey “I want to know what love is”. There are two videos of this song, one with 1 in the car & the other in his home with musical tract. The car videos he’s done are do to people doubting he was truly singing as he does. He is just now begun too catch the attention of the World. Gabriel was invited to preform for a Christmas/ Christ centered music with a Symphony Orchestra with a choir in Bucharest Romania. He was briefly on AGT where he received the Golden Buzzer & brought back for 1 song then he was given the song “Something Beautiful”, but not allowed to have very very little input. When he returned to Brazil, he got (copy right) from the singer/song writer “Jacob Banks” a Nigerian. Gabriel got to work on the song “Something Beautiful” as he in-visioned the song. A studio stage in Maximus Records was used for the recording in Brazil. He is mind blowing talent: His sing of Cynthia Erivo’s “Stand Up” is great. He has many covers Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Mariah Cary, Jennifer Hudson, Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, Steve Perry (Journey), Christina Aguilera, Adel, Chaka Khan, Bee Gees song “Emotion”, Toni Braxton, Duet “Endless Love”, “Stone Cold”, Beyoncé, Lara Fabian, “Never Enough”, Leonardo Concalves, etc…. This man can sing! If you haven’t checked “Gabriel Henrique”. You will certainly not be disappointed. Oh, Gabriel is a Gospel singer & has lots of R&B influence that is not found in Dimash. Let me know what you think, Timothy in Tallahassee, Florida 🌞🌴
Ironically Lara is a HUGE Celine fan!!!!!!!! You should checkout Celine's French music, it's better than her English repertoire. It does also feel more "real" too because it's her native tongue.
To love again english lyrics : ua-cam.com/video/eUkqXFOYLp8/v-deo.html Song with french lyrics: si tu m'aime ua-cam.com/video/4CdutW_wQMM/v-deo.html Sond spanish lyrics: meu gande amor ua-cam.com/video/s5ILVPtpFgs/v-deo.html The same song of her she sings in 3 different langages
great stuff.....The first half was full of masterclass level stuff, movement from every register and back, dynamic choices that were supremely beautiful and phrasing that was as good as it gets. The 2nd half gets a little more lively to be sure but listen to what she is doing in the first half, eyes closed. There are 8 people who can do it.
Hello, Thanks for your reactions, I love them ! I suggest you react to a duet she did with Johnny Hallyday at the beginning of her carrier : ua-cam.com/video/zR1rkt_0biA/v-deo.html Totally crazy performance. Johnny was a hudge star in France and other french speaking countries and said he choose her to do this duet with him because he thought she was the only female singer powerful and crazy enough to do this song with him. This song is initially a man singer solo. It's the story of a man, about to be arrested by the police after killing his wife because he could not stand living without her. In this duet version, it could be understood more as some kind of Bonnie and Clyde story. I am sure your reaction will be fun 🙂
You keep surprising me, Bob. This reaction video got pretty dang interesting after the 13:25 mark 🙂 Lara has always been there with me, but I have never bought her music. I HAVE bought all of Celine's albums tho...LOL Her "Je Suis Malade" is a very popular song, but one of my personal favorites is a song she performed with a very famous singer and actor called Johnny Hallyday. He has produced five diamond albums, 40 golden albums, 22 platinum albums and earned ten "Victoires de la Musique". His catalogue of songs is extensive and he's been singing duets with almost every great singer you can think of. Also with Lara. He died from lung cancer in 2017, at age 74. I'll give you a link to their on stage duet, performing "Requiem Pour Un Fou", meaning "Requiem For A Fool" : ua-cam.com/video/PHwIF6jmOCY/v-deo.html Lara is a very good actress herself, something that is quite apparent in this performance. It would be very interesting to hear your take on it 🙂 See you around, Buddy!
I second this! I noticed your rock albums & this shows her “rock” side. The performance pools\hallshark references was done at The Stade de France in front of 80,000 fans. The single of this performance was a huge hit in France.
And she didn't take a breath my brother she let her breath out she had more to give LOL. And by the way, the reason why Lara Fabian was not more popular than Celine Dion is they purposely kept her down to push Celine Dion forward in the united states and capital of Fabian just in Europe for the most part. Again I totally appreciate you my brother and I cannot stand Celine dion! LOL
I really like your channel, and especially like that you've reacted to Dimash videos. Dimash did a cover of Lara Fabian's Adagio on the Chinese show "The Singer." You definitely should react to that. Dimash takes the song to a whole new level.
Hi. Please, react to Lara singing the song YOU're Not From Here (Live). 19 seconds holding a C5 effortless. Lara spent 10 years studying piano, taking operatic/ bel canto lessons. She has been working for many years as a Coach (vocal technic) at The voice. She a Master in breath control, ressonance and emotion while performing. Thank you. ua-cam.com/video/Vv8XFXKXRLI/v-deo.html Plus: Lara is the Dimash's idol. He already said many times that she inspired him since he was a kid. He used to listen and watch her, that's how much she has inspired him in the way he performs and sings.

I atill don't understand the comparison with Céline. I'm french from Québec, and know Célne, went to some concert of hers and I know Lara also and I don't see where people see the similitude( similarities).. I just don't hear it...
Try the version in Italian and compare it to the version in English -- I know which I prefer and I don't speak italian !! My top 5 Must listen and watch Lara cuts -- Caruso, Adagio(it), Je Suis Malade, J'aime, Broken Vow -- and then there are 10 or 15 others. The original recordings are great but given how Lara performs it is worth hunting out the best recording. Including the Paris J'A where the audience sings, and where she has Pierre Grimard (her long standing pianist/accompanist) leave the stage in the final 3rd which she sings unaccompanied. I suggest avoiding the recordings in Russia/Georgia which had a poor mix. But Lara is of course extraordinary. 17 second final note with a lift in the final 3rd is exceptional Be careful with the following -- it is claimed that back in 2000/2001 CD had Sony music in the US push LF away from being her competitor and this pushed LF's career back while she was also going through trials and tribulations in her personal life and with her health.
One of My favorite Lara Fabian songs! As Much as I love it, I think you might like to check out Laura Bretan's lovely & very delicate cover of this song: ua-cam.com/video/LqwLDLRlTaQ/v-deo.html
I would like you to react to a Spanish singer her name is Diana Navarro. She is a very versatile singer who sings different musical styles with a very personal voice and with an incredible melismas and capacity of air. On this occasion I recommend you the song "El perdón" (Forgiveness)
@@ModernLifeForThe70sMind Yes, indeed! It was just to let you know! I'm new to your channel and so far I'm loving your reactions to Lara! I've been a fan of hers since 2002 and I'm glad that people in the USA are finally discovering her! 😊
Well, now you are waiting for numerous requests for reactions to the cover of this song from Dimash )) I join them in advance. Please, 2017 version of "I'm a singer"
I will love again, in 2000 nr 1 in the American dans music billboard Lara sings in english lyrics : ua-cam.com/video/IxC8MZ1RS-c/v-deo.html Lara sings in spanish lyrics : ua-cam.com/video/GnziV21n-HQ/v-deo.html
you just have to check a few Celine songs, even in other languages, and you'll find one to more appreciate her voice. An example? Why did you have to ask for an example!? ok, i'm a bit like you, The nasality kind of annoys me, BUT a young fan once (forced) me to record 3 songs of hers from youtube or something and "I surrender" i found out quite good not annoying. One factor of why i don't like more songs is that the music is pretty standard with no surprises.
Now you gotta react on Floor Jansen's version of Adagio, it's Super good. AND before anyone is shouting something, Floors version is not taking anything away from the Lara Fabian's Super Original song, Oukei?
the best singer of the world for control voice emotion touch the soul ...incredible voice ...sublime ❤️
Whenever I hear Lara I have tears in my eyes 😢😢💖💖
Love Lara ❤
Love from Denmark ❤
Entirely agree with everything you say about Lara ! the best female voice on the [planet !
Welcome to the world of the greatest singer of all time Lara fabian.
Lara is incomparable, she don’t deserve to compare with anyone else, no one even close.
Your voice is the beautiful Lara is the big star in the world thank at you for your reaction ❤️🗼🗼🇨🇵
Lara❤❤❤❤THE BEST
Amazing song! Best version!
Hi Gabriel. It's definitely the best version that I've heard so far. Simply amazing!
Lara is so under rated! Beautiful talent. For more, I would recommend Je Suis Malade, Broken Vow, and Caruso.
Thank you. I'll definitely be reacting to more from her.
Lara is amazing!!!!!!
You should check other songs from this incredible concert using this playlist with HQ videos and english subtitles when needed

I recommended:

- Broken Vow (English)
- You are not from here (English)
- Caruso (Italian)
- Perdere L'Amore (Italian)
- Love by Grace (English)
- I will love again (English)
I will post another comment with more details on Lara's background and career, and the covers from the new generation of vocalists.
Lara not only has a stellar voice, but she is a PERFORMER, too!
More information on Lara Fabian:
Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, ....
So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence:
• she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish), can speak a bit of sicilian, russian and dutch, and has sung in 12 languages in total
• she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music with the composer.
• she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none
• she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens.
A quick background on her and her career:
She is belgian, her father is flemish, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia).
She now lives in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship
She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music).
Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, …
With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there.
Out of my mind I can list:
○ Adagio,
○ Mademoiselle Hyde,
○ Know/Vocalise/Ascolta La voce
○ Love of tired swans
She also wrote the lyrics of his song « Your Love ».
Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs:
○ Floor Jansen (Adagio),
○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime),
○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie, Know),
○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow),
○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace),
○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow),
○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow),
○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow),
○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime),
○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you),
○ Julie Anne san Jose (Broken Vow),
○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow),
○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso),
○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie),
○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow),
○ Amir (Je t’aime),
○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade),
○ Forestella (Je suis Malade),
○ ....
She is phenomenal! Bob you have to react to Je Suis Malade! It’s fantastic also! Great reaction!!❤️
This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash, Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, …
They made great covers but none of these match the storytelling amazing performance of Lara in this concert From Lara with Love.
Her italian version is also amazing.
Thank you for sharing this masterpiece with us 👍😉👍😉👍

Myself, Celine does nothing for me. Lara blows me away, gives me chills. Her voice is stunning, her emotional delivery amazing. You were saying all that before the second part of the song - I'm laughing to myself.... Wait for it... 😂😂😂
Well said. I agree
I agree too
Since you enjoyed this song, I think you would love her masterpiece "Je Suis Malade

A version with english subtittles for "Je suis malade", it's always more powerfull when you understand the lyrics.

"Requiem pour un fou" is the most badass Lara performance, in my opinion. Would love to see your reaction to it.
Dimash is a great fan of Lara Fabian and hold her as someone that is a major inspiration for him.
I love it that it was after the first critique when you stopped the video she absolutely delivered!
With Lara, like with Dimash, you can never go wrong...She is amazing!
Hi Diana. I'll definitely be reacting to more from her. Thanks for the listen!

Now try reacting to her version of Caruso !
nice reaction and you hit several important points, congratulations also for the voice.
I prefer Lara, because she has technique but also gives emotions like none
That was a very good reaction. Loved it
My personal one is Broken Vow from the same concert and it is hers also.
With Lara; Adagio is just the begining lol
This is the Albinoni's Adagio, if somebody wants to hear it ua-cam.com/video/kn1gcjuhlhg/v-deo.html
Lara put lyrics to the music, and made a more modern arrangement (the original is for organ and strings), making a beautiful song.

Hey Tommy. You named some great ones!!! I'm sorry, there's just nothing like the singers from back then...well, maybe Lara! LOL Thanks for the listen.
But don't forget for a real treat the two together at a concert for Igor Krotoy with Ti Amo Cosi !
a great song in english... an even better one when she sings it in italian.
You need to react to much more 😉 perdere l'amore..good one
Thanks !
Hi Benoit! Thanks so much for the listen and the sub! Only 294? I got that! LOL I've gone ahead and bookmarked that video. Thanks again!!
Thanks !
❤️😘❤️😘❤️😘❤️❤️❤️😘❤️
I’m with you regarding Celine Dion. No-one can deny her talent but Lara is far more pleasing to my ear
Entirely agree with everything you are saying !! Do you realize your analyzing the best female voice on the Planet EARTH !!
Definitely do Je Suis Malade.
Also, love your shirt. Wish they had a better team right now.
Dimash idol is Lara and she worked with the famous Russian composer Igor Krutoy Dimash has done several of Igor’s songs and so has Lara 20 years ago. There is a collaboration with both and Igor at the piano and it’s on Dimash’s channel. AMAZING
Lara is actually a mentor/inspiration for Dimash. They sang a few songs together in the past.
1 song.. and was a trio...
@@PauloBono1978 Thanks for the clarification.
@@_JD..JD_ yes but he did several covers of her songs and she wrote a song for him
Lara has another friend “Gabriel Henrique” from Brazil.
Great review and welcome to the club!
Hey, thanks!
Lara is Dimash's idol. She has performed with Dimash and wrote lyrics for Dimash's song "Your Love".

The same song of her she sings in 3 different langages
Plis reacts Lara Fabián and JHONNY HALLIDAY ícono francais, un REQUIEM POUR UN FOU.
More Lara_:)
Hi Dax. No worries. I'm going to try to react to one tomorrow. I'll probably have it up in a couple of days.
Dimash is a fan of Lara since he was a young boy.
Your opinion between Celine Dion and Lara Fabian... i feel the same!!
Yay, it's not just me!!! LOL Thanks for the listen.
great stuff.....The first half was full of masterclass level stuff, movement from every register and back, dynamic choices that were supremely beautiful and phrasing that was as good as it gets. The 2nd half gets a little more lively to be sure but listen to what she is doing in the first half, eyes closed. There are 8 people who can do it.
Hello,
Thanks for your reactions, I love them !
I suggest you react to a duet she did with Johnny Hallyday at the beginning of her carrier : ua-cam.com/video/zR1rkt_0biA/v-deo.html
Totally crazy performance.
This reaction video got pretty dang interesting after the 13:25 mark 🙂
Lara has always been there with me, but I have never bought her music. I HAVE bought all of Celine's albums tho...LOL
Her "Je Suis Malade" is a very popular song, but one of my personal favorites is a song she performed with a very famous singer and actor called Johnny Hallyday.
I'll give you a link to their on stage duet, performing "Requiem Pour Un Fou", meaning "Requiem For A Fool" : ua-cam.com/video/PHwIF6jmOCY/v-deo.html
Lara is a very good actress herself, something that is quite apparent in this performance. It would be very interesting to hear your take on it 🙂
See you around, Buddy!
Another great masterpiece with Lara! May I recommend you to use this version instead, with english subtitles ? ua-cam.com/video/zR1rkt_0biA/v-deo.html
Hi Janet. Yea, a couple of people have mentioned that. I've already bookmarked the video. Thanks for the recommendation.
Thank you.

Plus: Lara is the Dimash's idol. He already said many times that she inspired him since he was a kid. He used to listen and watch her, that's how much she has inspired him in the way he performs and sings.
I bookmarked it. Thanks so much.

Lara was Dimash s childhood idol.
please go watch the holl concert and you will forget who is Celine !!!
17 second final note with a lift in the final 3rd is exceptional
Be careful with the following -- it is claimed that back in 2000/2001 CD had Sony music in the US push LF away from being her competitor and this pushed LF's career back while she was also going through trials and tribulations in her personal life and with her health.
...more information! LOL Reading your comments makes me realize how little I know about her. :) Really appreciate the background!
21 or 22 years old!
Still sounds amazingly relevant.
@@ModernLifeForThe70sMind Yes, indeed! It was just to let you know! I'm new to your channel and so far I'm loving your reactions to Lara! I've been a fan of hers since 2002 and I'm glad that people in the USA are finally discovering her! 😊
Try not to fall in love challenge ...You lost ;)
Well, now you are waiting for numerous requests for reactions to the cover of this song from Dimash ))
I join them in advance. Please, 2017 version of "I'm a singer"
I will love again, in 2000 nr 1 in the American dans music billboard

hi, you have to hear this song by Dimash
you just have to check a few Celine songs, even in other languages, and you'll find one to more appreciate her voice.
Its time, for Love by grace, Your are not from here, Broken Vow, Caruso.... All from same show. Please
Celine Dion doesn't even apply for Lara's student.

Now watch Dimash version of this song, and please, strap in properly before you push the play button :D
Now you gotta react on Floor Jansen's version of Adagio, it's Super good. AND before anyone is shouting something, Floors version is not taking anything away from the Lara Fabian's Super Original song, Oukei?
Listen to Dimash's version of it.
