I'm with you Brother !!!! I can't wait to see what comes out over the next month... We all know that the holiday season is PERFECT for the Sport/Non-Sport card market !!!! I'm guessing the amount of product that gets opened is 2-3X over the past 2 or 3 months..... and it wouldn't shock me one iota that, with the election of Trump, that people will probably be a lot more comfortable letting go of a little bit more $ this Christmas over last year's Christmas ❗❗❗and this comment is ONLY an OPINION.... That Skenes flagship 1/1 is worth a lot more than $14k. You cant use the Camo to comp the price. Collectors dont really care for the Camo parallel so those prices are always fairly low.

The platinum Skenes 1/1 is worth WAY more than 14k. It’s the number 1 chase card in 24 update.

Double edged sword. It sucks. On one hand you're 100% correct. On the other people can buy into the team(s) they like and save money on the cost of the entire box or case. It's a bad situation really. I don't see breaking going anywhere though. I can't afford to buy boxes at all anymore and you can't find retail because everyone is buying it up to resell for crazy money also. What's next they'll start printing more then that goes back to a huge problem.
Yes, they would put it into a breaker's delight box to gaurantee that us normal guys would never hit the elly de la cruz patch. Good to know.

@@johnbritt53exactly, plus it’s paper stock. The value difference between that and chrome is pretty big. I’d say it’s overvalued in an open market auction because any big investors wouldn’t be after that big a card in that product.

@@sourcingsailor4987 I know what you mean but sometimes it just doesn’t matter boss, children or neighbours aside when your more emotionally invested the child in us just gets loud (like 1st guys reaction to me and others is enjoyable to watch, raw joy) and yeah Has caused the missus to tell me to STFU plenty of times, but also has somewhat got my daughter interested/invested in the hobby beyond the financial gain (especially when I get more excited for a PC hit than the big cash team 😝)

five and six figures for baseball rookies is absurd. they're basically going to have to be a top 5-10 player ALL TIME to recoup that level of "investment" (and I use the term lightly).
Even worse when people are dropping that on unproven prospects. Pretty staggering what the hobby has become when a rookie pitcher likely to have a long term arm injury and a player batting .174 sell higher than a Hank Aaron or similar on card auto numbered lower.
@@MTFSportsCards I made this point on a different video, but imagine back in the day shelling out 5 figures for Kerry Wood or Mark Prior cards. Pretty comparable to Skenes.

Wild how many people seem to disregard logic and buy at ridiculous peak prices. Especially on pitchers who will not and cannot come close to breaking Nolan’s records. Makes no sense.
@@MTFSportsCards at least Skenes has won something and shown promise. the guys spending 5 figures on NFL first round QBs is even more insane to me. I looked at the First round QBs since the year 2000 and they have a hobby hit rate of about 4% (and their career hit rate isn't much better than that).
@ yeah absolutely. Just silly with pitchers especially with how common TJ/injury is and the fact Nolan Ryan records won’t be touched. 27 year careers don’t exist anymore unless it’s an extreme anomaly. I don’t get either one, give me an auto of a legend on card that can never be produced again over any rookie anything and I’ll be happy having it with zero concern over injury or even just a career that doesn’t become history.
I was in that break that hit the Elly. It was absolutely INSANE! What’s crazy is that was a 30 case break and the the one before that was a 60 case break and that was the ONLY Debut patch we found
Hello you folks didn't mention the biggest card out of Topps Gilded the gold auto Superfractor Paul Skeens was hit on friday i don't know how to send the video to you, it was hit on fanatics by the breakers LMS i was in the break with the Yankees 5:00 MST i did take the a picture of the redemption card he also hit a Paul out of 25 non auto, Happy Thanksgiving to all

Bought 1 Chrome UPD mega and pulled a Skenes true RC Aqua RayWave /199.
Another example of how much superior Topps retail is to Panini retail. At least u have a chance at numbered cards - Panini retail is all non-numbered trash.
