Hi
Significant enjoyment is currently taking place
Looking forward to it guys, thanks!
Love it
yeeeyyy more adventures :)
rusty's an absolute legend. big ups to the boys for taking a chance and going with him
The Rasta Jay Leno of Australia- would love to see MCM mod one of his nuggets in a future ep!
Did anyone that wasn't Australian understand a word Rusty said?
@@whollymindless I'm american and didn't have any trouble understanding anything he said. I'd have a harder time understanding people within our own appalachian mountains.
Absolutely, Rusty was great, an amazing story! I hope maybe you guys can get a project from him one day!
Rusty might get some great offers for some of his cars.
How you absolute lads can release 2 feature films in less than a year, and for FREE nonetheless absolutely boggles me - Who needs poor quality PAID entertainment when these gigalads are on youtube absolutely setting the BAR for what a feature length documentary film should BE! keep it up boys, you have no idea how GIDDY these make me feel every time I see them in my sub box!
If they used decent cars then maybe yeah,
It’s kind of like watching grown ups play with matchbox cars though.
@@caleb4116 Top Gear is one of the most successful tv shows of all time, and they always use shit boxes for the specials
@@caleb4116 and we LOVE them for it, living the dream!
This is higher quality then early and current top gear, when the big three are finally done these two are on pace to fill those shoes they just need a cpt slow!
@@Huggsmd
Top gear always uses shitboxes for their special do they?
You need to go back and have another look champ.
And none the less, they still aren’t these turds that mcm drive around and pretend to the audience that they are amazing cars.
They can’t do the speed limit up a hill.
So if you need to tell yourself this stuff at night to feel good about the piece of shit you drive, that’s alright.
Just don’t lie to yourself or other people though.
Go get a real car.
Rusty is a legend, that collection is something else.
Such a proper Aussie holy shit
I thought you meant the Bogan statue for a moment...
They should do a whole video with him (barn finder style). Go over his entire collection and all the oddities he's built.
Was going to say the same thing, 100% pure legend.
I thought it was rude that he forced him to handshake instead of fist bump.
Marty’s face when Moog sold the Chirade was priceless
Also. You guys should do tourism commercials.
Check our their Lend Us A Ride videos if you hadn't already. It essentially is tourism commercials, just in long format (the government help funded that trip).
Moog selling Marty's car is by far the funniest thing that moog has done. 10/10 guys. 10/10
The silence afterwards is the best thing they've ever done.
I don't even know now what was more of a wholesome move from Moog: selling this daihatsu or buying him the superturbo as a surprise!
😂🤣😂 The look on Marty’s face 😂🤣😂
Thanks for the spoiler 🤦🏾♂️
Marty and Moog, in future road trip videos how about inserting a progression map as you go - especially when you refer to a particular location - so that people will have a better sense of where you are going. I kept pausing the video and going on a maps program and keying in my best guesses as to the spelling of some of the places. I love your road trip vids - keep making them!
Good idea Batman
Yeah as an American trying to spell the towns they say and type them into google maps to follow along is rough sometimes.
Just like Top Gear always did
I’d love to see rusty set up his own channel. The stories he must have, the energy he has and the gems he’s got could be a great watch.
It wouldn't be the first time the MCM boys have discovered potential YT talent. I'd watch a Rusty channel.
Moogs facial expression when Marty told him the pies are the same was hilarious 😂
Spoiler alert lol
This is honestly one of the funniest/most fun episodes in a long time. Moog selling the Mira, trying to splash Marty... Just funny
@@4realtime783 no, released within the last week.
I love how this is like this is these guys hobby, and they just film it.
We get feature length specials when they wanna do something fun.
Not because they're scheduled and expected to.
I love using "the wrong tool for the job". Something about taking a city cruiser pushbike through some forrest trails, or a normal car on dirt roads is just fun.
A 3-speed Raleigh Sports remains the ultimate city pushbike for bombing out into light dirt and gravel. Prove me wrong ;)
I do it every time I get a rental car on holiday. Been on some uber sketchy "roads" in New Zealand, Iceland and Croatia.
Completely agree, taken my carbon race bike touring, and my Dad used to commute on his Fireblade.
As the owner of a small business I appreciate that you are encouraging support of small businesses!
Rusty's collection is amazing! Most of his barn cars would be fantastic with a bit of restoration and a running engine. Considering how good they look, it probably wouldn't be too much of a problem
Just think how much money is sitting there :o
I was eyeing off that escort with the straight 6 in it.
Lads, you should get one of those old cars off Rusty and do a resto series, get Yoda & Woody down for it too. Would be mad seeing an old Dodge (or whatever) resto.
Absolutely this! I was drooling over those flatbed trucks since I have dreamed of restoring one for my dad
Always loving the show ! I think rusty deserves an episode of his own to tell some story’s and show some mad cars. Much love from UK
Moog: found under the seat “food”, sure, Marty’s soup, “it’s great! But I’m not eating anymore.” 😂
Right!
Mighty Boat Mods coming soon!!
If Marty passes his test that is...
I hope it's a jet boat with a big block
It's going to be the best boating channel on the internet!
Live Marty picking up the grinder and going "what's this for"
How that man keeps a straight face is beyond me😂😂😂😂
Especially given the number of bongs the lads have surely found in used cars they've purchased around NSW

All the pies are the same @Dannyvw
In the US, there are countless towns in the Midwest that are dying. They are old oil and railroad boomtowns that have slowly dwindled down to a tenth of their original population. They somehow feel more historic than big cities because the guy who runs the hardware store has family who founded the town in the 1800s. His family fought alongside the seed supplier's great grandparents in the Civil War. Everyone has a piece of family history that they are still connected to through their family and the heirlooms that get passed down. Small farm towns are so cool, and I'm proud to have been raised in one... but I agree with Marty... The interesting small businesses have a tough time being successful because there aren't enough people to keep them afloat. I don't want to live in a world where we don't have small farm towns, but it's hard for me to see how they will survive.
Small towns are nice. Part of the reason that they die is their failure to embrace change.
Folks love charm and quaintness and are willing to pay for it. The internet is full of cottage industry businesses. They charge moderate sums for their wares.
Most don't want to be bothered. I have encountered it all to often. They have something of value or the capability to produce something of value with a very low investment. It's as though it's a shuttle launch. It's sad.
@@davidsawyer1599 Yeah, can't be bothered is a big attitude. My family's home town is a tiny country town that happens to host a music festival every year. And every year the shop owners close up and go on holiday elsewhere because they can't be bothered trying to cater to the thousands of people that show up! Any sane business owner would base their year around that weekend of sales, like many do for Christmas.
Yup i live in such a town
They were recovering under trump.
If immigration was possible I would happily move there.
Catching up on some MCM videos that I missed first time around and I'm watching this gem in 2024 on my lunch break. Thanks guys; hilarious, entertaining and seeing some great countryside. Rusty = pure gold. "It's not actually stolen, it's just sold" = pure gold. :)

@@welephant2013 I appreciate it! everyday is a new day and without the lows you can't have highs so I'm just pushing through
Keep pushing. Don't give up. Small steps better than none mate.
I cannot wait to get watching. I love that you're staying true to your roots and playing with small cheap affordable cars that everyone can relate to. As I keep saying, refreshing in a world of UA-camrs buying exotics.
My vote is for Tottenham. I got flu there when I was working as a Geophysicist for the NSW Geological Survey back in the 1970s. I spent a week in the Tottenham Hospital (which I think is now closed). I had excellent service from the local doctor and the staff at the Hospital. If I remember correctly, our vehicle was a Series IIa SWB Land-Rover which remains my favorite vehicle of all time. I owned several. Noisy, slow and quite thirsty but tough and would go anywhere. Ours had "cruise control". Actually it was a hand throttle for the winch, but the Geologists would put the hand throttle to FULL, put their feet up on the dash because the floor got too hot, and cruise from Sydney to Broken hill. The speedo would go past the 70mph mark so God only knows how fast those Land-Rovers were going. In those days, the speed limit was not limited. The engine was a 2286cc four cylinder OHV with quite a short stroke. This is unusual for English engines of that time but it helped the little motor rev quite well. There was also a diesel version using the same block. They were economical but pretty slow.
Excellent movie gents.
The 2.25 litre Land Rover engine is awfully unrefined in modern terms, but bulletproof - my dad has one in his kerosene-powered forklift and it always gets the job done.
As an American, I get giddy when I hear an Aussie say "You call that a knife?"
LOL
Love it guys, 2 things
1) Love Marty's camo sunnies
2) I have maintained that I don't understand the travel bug, there is far too much I haven't seen of my own country and State (South Australia) so I value your conclusion to this amazing episode.
Love your work as always guys
That servo at the mountains is well known for being dodgy! My partner and I love how you're making it a tradition.
The fact that neither Nyngan or Tottenham had a proper bakery is heartbreaking. My family used to sample pies in every town on roadtrips.
I used to be a sales rep and my territory was everywhere in my state outside the capital. I made it my goal to try a sausage roll from every town I went to. In hindsight I wish I'd blogged about it. Most were similar (although better than the mass produced ones), but a couple in particular really stood out.
51:25 - Marty: You know you're back in civilisation when you see power lines.
Moog: (drives through Canberra, the nations capital)
Marty: Keep driving Moog, there's nothing worth stopping for here ....
The Daihatsu looks ace! Color, wheels, stance... Just perfect! Love it!

You guys are inching closer and closer to the magic that is top gear (Hammond, Clarkson, and May). And I love it. ❤

Marty stayed remarkably calm after: Moog lost his knife, a random pile of asphalt wrecked his car, and then Moog sells his car while he was asleep. That's pretty zen.
To stir up drama just like the center of NSW ...Moog didn't lose the knife, the car was already broken, and they planed to sell the car from the beginning. I still enjoyed this episode regardless. :D
@@pelagicsky DIng, ding, ding - we have a winner. And it's the only reason this gets a downvote from me - it's not as egregious as the "we'll crush Twisted" nonsense, but it's still not something you do if you respect your loyal audience.
Honestly, I have been watching since the beginning, I enjoy the projects; however, if Blair was out of the picture along withe the foot shots in every video and the discussing putting dirty car food in his mouth, I would not be disappointed. In fact I would probably prefer Marty Car Mods. If I was Marty, I would be really passed off... Unless it was all for dramatic value...
@@pelagicsky Very much doubt the car was broken from the start.
@@gerbearadventures5574 I wouldn't go so far as to say he doesn't add to the show, but indeed, some of the reality-show BS that usually comes from his end could be easily disposed of to absolutely no great loss.
That said, we've seen what Marty Car Mods looks like during the shed and MR2 episodes, and he's a fantastic solo presenter. Wouldn't hesitate for a second to watch a spinoff.
🤣 Marty being like “Why you sold it? I loved that car!” and 2 seconds later “you know I bought that car for the wheels!… oh you kept the wheels? We’re cool then.” 🤣
Also wow at Rusty’s car collection, some hidden treasures in there.
Off-roading adventures.
I'm glad Marty feels comfortable inside Moog's dirt box.
I once took a 20 year old mk1 Twingo from France to Armenia through Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Ukraine and Georgia.
I had a great time, made greater by the absolute nugget I was driving. Went and back tho, without any issue.

@@Majkelshortcut The first time I drove it as a rental car, I loved it. It's roomy , clanky noisy and fun.
I actually love when you guys do these short films. Do the great ocean road next.
Love a good road trip. Have since my parents took us kids on them when we were young. I think the best one I took was right after buying a 10 year old Jaguar XK8 convertible back in 2009. I'd had it a month and it hadn't broken so I decided to use it for the road trip I'd been planning to take my daughter on. We traveled 7000 miles on back highways mostly. Did a circle of the country almost starting in Florida heading north to Ohio and then going as far West as Denver. We crossed mountain ranges, visited caves and geysers and gorges, forests and deserts and of course saw millions of acres of farmed land. We watched a cloud form just yards away while on the summit of Pikes Peak. I'd been up that mountain a few times in my life in everything from 60's era VW Beetles to a Greyhound bus before they paved the whole road up but that was the first and only time I went up the mountain with the top down and it was breathtaking. And after leaving there, I really went off road thanks to some bad navigating and we ended up crossing Arizona through some tiny dirt tracks through the desert. Not exactly Jaguar territory, especially old Jaguar but it took it all in stride and never gave us a seconds trouble on our journey. In fact, the only time I worried about the car at all was coming down Pikes Peak. I could tell the brakes were getting hot by their reduced performance and with no way to engine break I worried I'd get stopped and made to rest them on the way down and blow our schedule but we passed the inspection. Barely. I did get pulled over right after getting back inside Florida state lines and for the first and only time, I didn't get a ticket. lol It was a good trip. This is an absolutely huge country. It's well worth seeing.
I had a citigo (which is just a rebadged Up!) for 3 years until earlier this year, and it was the most reliable car I've ever had. All it ever needed was serviced, one lightbulb replace, some new brake pads and the washer pump replaced. 40k+ on it, and never an issue.
I agree, very dependable
I could spend days looking around rustys collection, that's awesome
6:58 Marty is getting good at his acting
Missed opportunity to call it "The Charade is Up!"
As soon as I saw the title of this, I thought the exact same thing friend!
Damn you guys got me good with your reactions after Moog sold Marty’s car. Priceless.
Charade and UP! Sounds like a good name for a bottle of drink👍
I gotta say the interior lining fabric in that daihatsu is absolutely amazing.
My stomach's hurting after laughing so much! You two are just great and it's been awesome watching the channel all these years

I'm so glad to be watching the biggest and best 4x4 UA-cam channel 🍻
I've had several 1.0 left hand drive 2000 Daihatsu Move's and I've taken them from a country near Germany all the way to Croatia. Kei cars are capable of more than people think, and so are just small cars overall.
They need that turbo nugget power. They're aplenty here in Malaysia and iirc people are having like 200-300hp on their Miras/Moves/YRVs lol
3:35: "It's designed to drive at 150": Having driven my share of tiny VWs on autobahns (rentals - since I don't need a car), they can hold 170-180 no problems, but somewhere around 160 become truly terrifying because of low weight and not stiff enough frame.
The Up can sit on 170 and still feel pretty stable. Sure it's in 4th gear and there's absolutely nothing else left to give... or so I've been led to believe.
@@TheKnobCalledTone. 4? Never seen less than 5 here :/
I have a 60hp Up and I've managed to get it to a GPS measured 185 - I don't recommend it, it's terrifying as you said. 140-150 is it where it feels good at, provided there is no elevation, if you are going up a hill, you are not making it without losing momentum and shifting down at least one gear.
When he sold the Daihatsu I know that feeling when my dad sold his e30 I loved for bargain price way less than he bought it for, but I’m glad he got the wheels😂 also I love these videos on the UP planning on getting one as my first car

Rusty's collection is awesome. I can't imagine the time it took him to collect all these cars.
There are so many places like Rusty's in America, so awesome to see one in Australia, with cars I've never seen before. Kick ass
I’ve done so many kms in this size of cars across Europe. The only thing you really need in them for that is good sound deadening, or a pair of earplugs.
OMG, the Rusty segment is worth a whole season of episodes. What a legend!
That Daihatsu is an absolute charade.
I went out to Dubbo a bit over a week ago. That road from Mudgee to Dubbo was probably the worst paved road ive ever driven on. You guys probably were on the same road. We had a 2 year old Kia Seltos (small suv thing) and it was the same experience for us.
I did the trip on New years and nearly launched my car off a dip pothole just outside Capertee or Cullen Bullen. JDM sportswagons with stiffened springs definitely weren't made for these roads
I vote they finish one of Rusty's builds!

Once again you guys do amazing full length films. thank you.
Moog & Marty should definitely do more road trips like this around Australia.
32:30 From my understanding, the roads in Australia don't get directly serviced from the fuel tax. It just goes into a general tax fund and gets distributed from there.
I thought rego was meant to pay for the roads
"Because then you'll get roadkill.
I'm not talking about our friends in America who drive crap cars, I'm talking about kangaroos who are no longer with us."
Jesus Marty was quick with that perfect joke hahaha.
Roadkill just did Sick Week which was a drag race event where they bought a car, never tested or tuned it and entered an event where they drive 800 miles and race 5 days, he's not wrong haha.
That is one sweet Supra at 2:49

Spent years carting drums, guitars and amps round in a 1980 Austin Metro. Thing needed a box under the driver seat and a cushion to get height but that thing used to do hundreds of miles between gigs.
I really liked those wheels as soon as I saw them too. Waiting to see how the rest of the episode plays out. I wish we could get that nugget here in the states.

I love how this started out as 2 guys working on cars to what it is now the editing the feature length. Like legit movie
Yeah, people used to take long trips in basic cars because that's all we had. Watching this makes me miss the 1978 Honda Civic and the 87 Suzuki Samurai I had and my friend's 68 VW bug we drove to Fla.
What did we learn from this journey? We learned that Moog will actually sell your car while you're sleeping and laugh about it in front of you while you're puzzled. lol
It's nice to know my 125cc motorbike can outrun a VW Up! 😂

Can confirm that the Up can sit on 150 all day, and can even sit on 170 for a while assuming you don't want to go any faster. On the autobahn or in the NT of course.
You can rev the shit out of it, nothing will happen, it’s literally bulletproof 😂
I'll spoil it for you: yes, you absolutely CAN go on a roadtrip in a tiny car! I drove my Fiat Seicento 1000 miles from England to Poland, twice!
I ruined a home headgasket change on a seicento, when reassembled it sounded like it was only on 2 cylinders and drove like a clown car
I'd have gone with a Subaru Justy.
Japanese, three cylinders, was available with a turbo if you really want.
