However, I don’t think our lineouts is our only concern. We need to bring variation to our attack. Who’s the coach for that?

They sped it up Australia were tired by the time Casey and Crowley came on. Sam prendergast was getting ireland into great spots for line outs his out of hand kicking and cross kicks were top notch but kellaher darts and and some of the line out lifting were not good enough and as much as I love Lowe he screwed up a few times one time wasn’t his fault as they had an overlap but kellaher pulled a scissor last second and lowe threw it into touch . I think Kelaher needs to go back to the provinces and Gus McCarthy should be promoted to starting Irish hooker. Because the line out improved when he got on. But Craig Casey and Jack Crowley brought a noticeable difference and well done to them.

@@bullish7352it doesn’t matter what jersey they were for the provinces they were outstanding and nothing to do with bias it’s just a simple fact that Leinster at the moment are better than Munster and that something you’re going to have to reckon with. I was very impressed with Craig Casey in particular. And having Crowley there is a senior player to add the structure towards the end was a great idea. All in all prendergast got game time we know we need to work smarter at line out and we’ve added depth.

He put it in an excellent position is cross kick kept Australia guessing had we just converted the lineout pressure Prendergast gave us it would be a different view all together. What’s important is the kid got gametime and now knows that he needs to be better more accurate from the kicking tee and that we have a few backups at fly half now. Where for the last 30 years we’ve been reliant on only one flyhalf. First it was David Humphreys, then Ronan O’Gara, then Sexton. It made us too reliant on only one flyhalf and if you want to realistically win a World Cup you need two. I agree with you they made a great impact. Casey in particular really sped things up although you have to remember Australia were tired from defending. I don’t think the attack is gone Australia we’re just very efficient at the ruck. Choosing when to go in and went to not contest and fan out in defence. They were very good at picking which ruck to attack. The lineout definite was a shambles I think Kelaher needs to be dropped when Sheehan comes back and ghost McCarthy needs to be promoted. this might not be liked Because of how heavy a Leinster presents there is I think we need to look at bringing Max Deegan at line out he’s been phenomenal the season are disrupting all the teams ball The way Peter O’Mahony used to. We need to work on handling, line out, general discipline and protecting the ruck better we’re getting too isolated in the opposition 22. Positives were we got new blood game time, our counter ruck was excellent, the defense is still quality although Australia found a lot of gaps yesterday. Kick chase was good but can be better and territorial kicking is excellent. That was a very good and well coached Australian team they won the first half we won the second half.

Young Gus has grabbed his chance with both hands, but it's worth pointing out that Tom Stewart made his comeback from injury for Ulster against Leinster on Friday, and looked like he hadn't been away. Before his injury, Tom Stewart was looking like the next guy in the pipeline. Now that he's back, don't be too surprised if he starts putting pressure on the likes of Kelleher, Herring and McCarthy for a spot in the 23 behind Sheehan, who is clearly the top pick when fit. Stewart has a similar style to Sheehan - both look like they could fit in at 12 just as easily.

Genuinely don't know why everyone is comparing Crowley with Prendergast. Had a solid game for his third test. Sexton was ropey when he started his international career playing alongside O'Gara - but then he became a great. I think its great that Farrell is growing and developing the bench he is thinking about the future of the team. Comeptition is what brings the best performances. Crowley and Casey were incredible had a real impact off the bench - it was suddenly a different game, maybe sometimes having that impact of the bench is better strategically after wearing a team down. If you look at the Boks with Pollard and LeBok, they have different styles and can bring something diff tactics wise. We aint gonna win a world cup let alone get to the semis relying on the same 15 men again. Depth is the key. These were friendlies so mean nothing, great to see Farrell innovating in the team. Also yeah Pauly needs to sweat as the scrum and lineout havent been on all autumn.

OK, two of those are at home, but that doesn't guarantee anything, and the match at Murrayfield could easily be the deal-breaker, particularly if the Scottish front row do a number on us. It's actually a great time to be a rugby fan, because it's only in the last two or three years where we've had eight highly competitive teams in the world who are capable of beating each other on a given day.
