Gus McCarthy was really impressive, he had a solid, strong game. I loved that he had tears in his eyes during the Athems, shows his true passion for his Country and pulling on that Green jersey. Well done to all the 1st cap players, SP is different to Crowley, interesting. Craig ‘Goliath’ Casey what a game he had!! Well done to all, hoping they are getting back into their stride, onwards and upwards ☘
Hansen scored two, but I thought his overal display was error-strewn and messy. Must be under pressure from Nash. Or, when fit again, big Jacob, who has played at 14 before. He had a stormer.
Hey guys We have three great 10’s and we need all of them. I don’t care who is the run on 10. I also think as a rugby supporter we are blessed the top six or seven teams in the world are fantastic. I’m loving rugby now.
@@michaelmoynihan9591I prefer runners and passers but Prendergast is just a passer and kicker. Crowley will definitely do a runner job but it's good to have all aspects between them.
McCarthy deserved man of the match I felt. Overall given how poor the opposition was the performance was mixed against a team that bled 17 penalties. Sloppy forward passes unacceptable at this level. Beating a tier 2 nation that underperformed should be the minimum even for a second string ireland let alone one with a sprinkling of newbies. Far far bigger test ahead next week but if ireland can rediscover their form of 2023 then they should beat Australia with ease, however, I'm still of the opinion that there's malaise in this team, a lack of fluidity and consistent focus. Andy has to embrace youth now, some of the veterans should be retired at the final whistle next week.
I agree that there's something not quite right about Ireland at the moment. I hope we haven't peaked in the long cycle of how most teams (except the ABs) ebb and flow over the years. I think Farrell is astute enough to recognise that and do something about it, by evolving the personnel and, more importantly, the style. We'll see.
@@RossoVerdeNeroFiji are a tier 1 nation , they had won 6 of their last 7 games losing to Scotland with half of their team. Ireland in 2024 have won a back to back 6 nations shared a series in SA have lost only 3 games just 1 less than SA . SA have no intention in retiring any of their older players and for very good reason, Ireland have been building and bringing players through for more than 15 years , they’re the most successful team in the NH and you think they should dump all that makes them great for something not tested. I sometimes despair at Irish people who always have their glass half empty.
@@RossoVerdeNeroAnd if they were playing free flowing rugby people would be asking the same question, are they peaking too soon 🤔. It looks like no matter how they play or who they play (players) they are going to be criticised anyway.
Great tackle by Izuchukwu to keep Fiji from scoring after Sam P had been carded. They almost got in after his tackle but would have scored for sure if he had not brought his man down. Poor Fiji performance but still Ireland looked much better and their passing was crisp. The most impressive thing about Sam is his coolness and his really sharp passing. Crowley is still the number 1 but we have a proper back-up now who might become a great 10 in time..
Prendergast incident was intentional but not malicious, by rugby standards it was not dangerous, so a yellow probably the right call, not sure why he came in to the tackle upright, would have been easier to take the player out of play at waist height.
One speaker seems to find it difficult to give his full sustained attention to any speaker other than himself. A pity. They are both excellent pundits and well interviewed. Well done.
Jesus lads if luke Fitzgerald is far more enjoyable and balanced to listen too than ye 2, ye have a big problem, prendergast was average, I rate him and he will get better but if crowley had that performance (and he has in the past) he would be slated from it from all angles (and he has been in the past)
What is with this Frawley bombed out nonsense. The 2nd and 3rd choice 10s got a chance to prove who should start this match. Would have been the exact same team for Argentina if Frawley had a great game against New Zealand.
This has been his problem in club - because he can cover so many positions, and Ross Byrne can only do 10, whenever any backs got injured early, Ross came on, Frawley has to drop out of 10. Sam's a pure 10 too. But I think Frawley is invaluable being a 10 or not.
These are just first impressions, but Sam had an armchair ride and still looked at sea when things went slightly off the play book. He also got lucky for the Fiji try, the clown was dropping the shoulder again, but the shirt pull saved him. Currently Ross Byrne is a better player.
A much more mixed performance than they are making out, even aside from the two mistakes they actually addressed. Based on this performance, Casey is closer to JGP than Prendergast is to Crowley, but no talk of any competition there. They can talk about culture war all they want, but they're not consistent at all.
@washerdryer3466 SA maybe not on the way down, but expected better / more against a school boy team that got 50 put over them by an Aussie team who was down to 14 for 20 mins.
Excellent post match analysis as always. Two of the best commentators around.

Stockdale was great. Looked hungry. Nash is very unlucky not to start ahead of Hanson.
Aki-Henshaw to start next week.
Stockdale should have passed to JDVF on the left for a certain try but went glory mode
Ireland were Playing Fiji . Let’s not loose the run of ourselves
Precisely 👍
I do believe that was mentioned on a number of occasions

Prendergast definitely has the look of a young Sexton about him . Hopefully a great future ahead of him
Don't know my cousin Crowley is better.?

Stockdale playing well is a great addition
Frawley will be annoyed that Osborne got injured and he had to fill in at 15 instead of getting another run at 10.
I love how Prendergast brings the ball to the line, but he’s gonna get hammered many times doing that. He needs to bulk up.
Gus should have got man of the match

Okay Ruaidhai... its Crosshaven fault the ireland team gave away so many penalties. Insane take on it. Crowley is still by dar the clear 1st choice.
Barry, even a blind man can see that 'The Second Coming' has a much higher ceiling than Crowley. Our moat stylish 10 since Paul Dean!

Heros all of them
Prendergast needs to make the Leinster team first.

Cian would have been dancing in his Crowley signed pyjamas had Sam been sent off. Imagine calling for one of your own to be sent off.
Bigs up the Munster option at every opportunity
Lighting so bad I’m surprised you filmed this!!?

Way too bright in that room and everyone looks hungover 😂
I think stockdale is finished as an international, he just refuses to pass the ball .
😂 he passed several times yesterday
He was having a good game
Very lucky hit

this is going down hill fast. The guy on the left is a cheerleader for the sam guy. the indo podcast has not lived up to what i had hoped

Irish has pathetic backline when you minus JGP, Aki and Lowe.
Poor performance by SA v Wales who Fiji beat. SA on the way down.
