Yeah correct fuse lock matching ignition system. This was a mess when first bought and a lot of things were different. So all old wiring ripped out and replaced. Hidden ignition wire should’ve been connected and is now. Popping fuse was too much power to light switch as I went off a 10 fuse lock 1968 bug . Correct 12 fuse lock and everything working as it should . Safe and Sound !!
Check out when I first got this bug and the old wiring ,fire waiting to happen. I’ve rewired from scratch and now needs sorting. Check other cars wiring in behind dash . This ain’t bad lol

i just got a headache looking at the wiring if any flaws in a VW its the fuse box and the wiring
Every beetle or aircooled Vw has wiring birds nest ,but I always go back from scratch and use original colour coded wire 👍
