Great call by the assistant. The coach doesn't understand the laws of the game. Even though the attacker didn't touch it, he impacted the goalkeeper's ability to play the ball by being in his way and making a movement towards the ball. Therefore, offside is the correct decision. Also great job by the ref to gain control of the match by ejecting the coach and talking to the other coach to make sure everyone else quieted down. Top marks for this ref crew in my eyes.
Not talking about the play of the kids...that's a mute point....That coach was way out of line. Doesn't matter if the ref made a bad call. You've never made a bad call? They are little kids for Chrissakes, not professionals. They knock each other down every other play. Police should never have to be called in because of asshole parents actions. How would you have handled it Mr. FIFA?? Not only did that coach get thrown out, he incited the other parents until a policeman had to be called in! You're a moron.
Freshavocado, this coach also has to know he is setting an example for the kids and parents. There are repercussions for his type of behavior. I honestly feel that he needed to go...so you say you would have stood there and took that abuse?? Well then I applaud you for that! Any type of outburst like this one from a coach or parent needs to be dealt with in a timely manner, in any sport. Did the ref have a quick trigger? I don't think so. Others like yourself will take that screaming and yelling. You are only teaching the kids that his type of behavior will be put up with. I side with the ref on this one.
Absolutely...unless my kid is on one of these teams, if I am sitting there watching this game and not enjoying the water slides, I am questioning my own sanity.
The player from the team who scored was clearly in the play. Weather he touched the ball or not,he acted like he was going for the ball to confuse the keeper.
I love how he continues to argue that, "nobody touched the ball!" ... It is not just touching the ball, you can also influence the play while offside and if you do, it is offside.
Jonathan Kim it looked like he was trying to get the ball at first. But then he runs towards the ball as it's going into the net so technically it's influencing the play and the goalie reacts to the player. I can see this as being offside
And officiate one game per week! Some of the best officials I know were some of the worst squawkers before they sat in for the 8 hour course and took the exam. They found that the enjoyment of officiating outweighed their inefficient coaching style. :):)
ihajeeorbis yes exactly one game we were up by one and my friend scored a goal to make it two but the ref called it offside because he took a big dribble that looked like a pass but it wasn't.
As a ref, this would be a useful video to show to new referees on how to deal with this sort of behavior. Great call by the AR at the start, and the way the center handled the coach and the parents was textbook.
The ref had a bad call, to be honest I agree with the coach because the ref had a terrible call, the kid who was offside didn't touch the ball. No offence but this is why Americans don't play football, because they can't.
The only way for it to be an offside is if when the player kicked the ball, and the dude in front of the defender touched it. Another reason is if someone shoots when a player of the same team is in front of the defender, it bounces of the keeper or the post and then he touches it. Non of this happened, it was a bad call.
A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by: • interfering with play by playing or touching a ball passed or touched by a team-mate or • interfering with an opponent by: • preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or • CHALLENGING AN OPPONENT FOR THE BALL or • clearly attempting to play a ball which is close to him when this action impacts on an opponent or • MAKING AN OBVIOUS ACTION WHICH CLEARLY IMPACTS ON THE ABILITY OF AN OPPONENT TO PLAY THE BALL A player moving from, or standing in, an offside position is in the way of an opponent and interferes with the movement of the opponent towards the ball this is an offside offence if it impacts on the ability of the opponent to play or challenge for the ball; if the player moves into the way of an opponent and impedes the opponent’s progress (e.g. blocks the opponent) the offence should be penalised under Law 12.

I absolutely agree with this method. I know many kids who played great last ditch defense and were good at clearances, but became a liability when they got older on other teams that played more tiki-taka and a controlled tempo.

@Tomas Munoz It was a good call, and actually very basic since the "forward kid" intervened with the play while he was in offside position. Way to go with your inferiority complex btw. Interesting way to experience the catharsis you need to cope with your life.
j ross no YOU need to learn the rules. As a referee, I can tell you from having actually studied the rules that the attacker does NOT need to touch the ball for it to be offsides, he merely needs to be INTERFERING with the play, which he clearly is in this case.
Correct call. The player was offside and distracted the goalie. The coach needs to find a different hobby, youth sports is obviously not working out for him.
@@matthewharrison8325 “it doesn’t matter was interfering with the play” how? According to FIFA rules he would have had to impede the other player, make a play on the ball, etc. Nothing that happened in the video would make this an offside offence.
Referee here. The ref was correct in his decision. You do not need to touch the ball in an offside position to be offside, there are more offenses that can warrant an offside call. I believe in this video, it was the impeding of the vision of the goalkeeper by the offside player.
I honestly feel bad for the kids on the coach’s team though. Like, imagine being 10 years old and your coach, an adult influence in your life who is supposed to be helpful and responsible, screaming and yelling and just completely losing control over one call. That must have been so strange for them to see
Good call by the assistant, the offside player influenced the play. Coach at least didn't use foul language, but the ref gave the coach ample time to calm down and he didn't.
Although the ball wasn’t touched by the offsides player, he was involved in that play, and since he was in that offsides position, he gained an advantage by being there. Great call by the AR and the Center referee.
1:10 "I might as well!" Actually it's more like "I am required to leave right now because I have been dismissed from the technical area by direction of the referee."
My Brother went to the Middle School that’s Behind theSoccer Field, and that waterpark behind is Hawaiin Falls I go there every Summer and I live in Garland Tx
Good call. Clearly an OFFSIDE OFFENSE. See below from LOTG. Clearly 2-D. 2-A could have applied ITOOTR (in the opinion of the referee). 2-C could also been applied. If attacker would have stepped away from the area of active play (away from GK and line of sight as well) when it was kicked and it went in, NO OFFSIDE OFFENSE, a GOAL. If the goalkeeper would have tried to SAVE the ball with a touch and the OFFSIDE attacker played it, it would be an OFFSIDE OFFENSE 2-E. ------ A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched by a team-mate is only penalized on becoming involved in active play by: 1) interfering with play by playing or touching a ball passed or touched by a team-mate or 2) interfering with an opponent by: A) preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision OR B) challenging an opponent for the ball OR C) clearly attempting to play a ball which is close to him when this action impacts on an opponent OR D) making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball OR E) gaining an advantage by playing the ball or interfering with an opponent when it has rebounded or been deflected off the goalpost, crossbar or an opponent, been deliberately saved by any opponent.
It’s still an offside lmao, this is why football in North America will never be at a level even close to Europe and South America. The player interferes with the play, he doesn’t need to “touch” the ball
Um excuse please, you're surely right but I'm pretty sure North America is pretty close, plus your saying that North America is not on the level with Europe just because of this stupid video smh, there a lot of good or great coaches here in North America, and you're just saying that because of this stupid idiot coach who has no idea what he is doing, while there are other great coaches here in North America, so why say that.
@@awilhelmscream89 these are some pretty bad clips there’s a full game Red Bull’s vs wolves, and even besides the point of that, how can you really tell if a kid is talented because his mind which is essential for playmaking and general game knowledge in addition to his body haven’t even begun to develop fully, passion matters more as a kid I’d say
i'll ask the same question , that i ask , for every american soccer video. where was this played? a public recreation ground , or a school sports facility ? thank you
I'm a certified referee and have been doing this for 10 years now, one of the rules states that "A player is offsides if they interfere with the play and influence it in any way" Therefore it was offsides because the player prevented the keeper from doing his job. And the rules say that if a parent or coach is acting like how the man here did then you need to get control of the game by ejecting and takeing people out of the game. Great job to the ref
As a certified ref, you should also know it's just OFFSIDE. There isn't an "s" on the end. And you should also know that under FIFA/USSF, there aren't any rules but Laws Of The Game. Granted, NFHS and NISOA (NCAA) call them rules. Since this obviously wasn't high school or college, safe to say they were playing under USSF Laws.
“It was offside because the player prevented the keeper from doing their job”. Nice try but watch the video again. The player was about 18 ft from the GK, never made a play on the ball, didn’t block the GKs vision, nothing.
Yes, it was the correct call BUT this official should have immediately explained to the coach that the player influenced the play and then if the coach kept ranting send him off. I can't stand this "I'm right and you're wrong" arrogance of some officials like this. No people skills at all.
I used to try to explain calls sometimes but when a coach is going crazy and screaming it is obvious he doesn't want to listen and it's only going to escalate into something worse. I've learned that dealing with these situations quickly and strongly is usually the best way to handle it. After doing hundreds of games there comes a point when you're just done with all of the nonsense and it's time to get them out of there!
The ref can add time if stuff happens that shouldn't be on the clock. Usually it's for injuries and called injury time but the ref could add time for how long it takes to get this arse off the field as well.
Who has the coach had been acting prior to offside I which probably influenced ref but I keep my cool and not come off as this red did here. You are right some go in with a power trip or bring personal attitudes onto the field. To help game management and if coach is willing to listen take a few seconds and explain briefly in decision. It can help you control coach and keep game flowing without unknowing thoughts.
I can see both sides of that argument. Bottom line is that it's not the referee's responsibility to teach the game, especially to a coach. I've only reffed for a couple years, but we're instructed to keep any explanations incredibly brief so that the game can continue to flow.
Lol that was a great call by the ref. If a player is offside he cannot touch touch the ball or continue moving in the path of the ball. The player didn't touch the ball but he stood in front of the goalie while he was coming out to get the ball. It is a clear offside.
It's offsides the forward made for the ball or looking to participate in the play good call AR...parents it's just a game at this stage it's all about learnig the game
The player influenced the play therefore it is an offside just because you don't touch the ball being offside does not mean that you are not affecting the play
Props to the refs. You could not see if the player interfered with the keeper or touched the ball from that angle. They handled the situation perfectly.
I can't tell, but some people are missing the point, its when the ball is kicked, not when a player becomes part of the play. If he was in an offside position when the ball was kicked then the call was correct, you cant where he was when the ball was kicked.
Great call by the AR. I'm surprised the AR called it tbh. It doesn't matter if the kid didn't touch it. Nowhere in the laws of the game says he needs to touch it. If the team gains any advantage, which they did because this player made an advance on the ball and blocked the goalie from being able to save it. The goalie could've been able to move forward to stop the ball before it bounced, if that player were not there. Great call 100%.
The best lessons come from not winning. Kids need to learn that winning is not the objective but learning and becoming a better player. Parents and coaches need to show their kids that the game is not always fair but at the end of the day its only a game and its outcome will not determine who they are in life. The coach showed that he cannot keep calm and cannot respect the reff as the maximum authority in a game
It’s the right call the player interfered with the play therefor is the right call. I really wish parents would learn about the game before they flip out
Great call by the assistant.
Nonsense. The ball bounced over the GK's head. He was never saving it
doesn't matter, the offside player made an advance on the ball, which makes the offside call the correct call.

In American high school football, that fans are always on the same side of the field as the players and coaches, so I see what the problem is here.
Still, not a good situation. Much better to administer the game and substitutions when both teams are on one side and the parents on the other.
Works both ways .... Having both teams parents on the same side can get snippy as well in a physical game.

drunkrussianisgood that was a shot on goal not a pass. I hope you never ref again.
Correct call. The player was offside and distracted the goalie. The coach needs to find a different hobby, youth sports is obviously not working out for him.
bduddy55555 goalie was watching the ball and didn't react other than to the ball. Wrong call.
T Jones it doesn't matter the player was interfering with the play and was clearly offsides
OH YA? LIKE WHAT OTHER HOBBY? YOU SUGGESTING HE RAPES THE KIDS INSTEAD OF COACHING THEM???/ ARE YOU FYCKED
@@matthewharrison8325 “it doesn’t matter was interfering with the play” how? According to FIFA rules he would have had to impede the other player, make a play on the ball, etc. Nothing that happened in the video would make this an offside offence.
Can we all just take a moment to relive how low this level is. Lmao
Imagine being sent off in a U11 rec game 😂
Great call by the assistant ref
Referee here. The ref was correct in his decision. You do not need to touch the ball in an offside position to be offside, there are more offenses that can warrant an offside call. I believe in this video, it was the impeding of the vision of the goalkeeper by the offside player.
He went for the ball it's offside
I honestly feel bad for the kids on the coach’s team though. Like, imagine being 10 years old and your coach, an adult influence in your life who is supposed to be helpful and responsible, screaming and yelling and just completely losing control over one call. That must have been so strange for them to see
I love the way that someone has a keep calm jumper and the coach is screeming his head of
Good call by the assistant, the offside player influenced the play. Coach at least didn't use foul language, but the ref gave the coach ample time to calm down and he didn't.
When I was 11 we didnt use the offside rule yet lol
The ref is right he entifered with the play
At this age, they need to develop their skills on a smaller pitch, with smaller goals and no offsides.
Good call by the assistant.
Although the ball wasn’t touched by the offsides player, he was involved in that play, and since he was in that offsides position, he gained an advantage by being there. Great call by the AR and the Center referee.
If the player wasn't there I can guarantee you the goalie would have caught it. I would have hella called offsides on that shit damn
That AR has the rules down! Great job!
Great refereeing.
Keep it simple, fair and firm.
Correct call by the ref he was interfering with the goalkeeper
1:10 "I might as well!" Actually it's more like "I am required to leave right now because I have been dismissed from the technical area by direction of the referee."
My Brother went to the Middle School that’s Behind theSoccer Field, and that waterpark behind is Hawaiin Falls I go there every Summer and I live in Garland Tx
HAHAHAHAHAHA how the hell do you get tossed from a C level Rec game? Especially when the call was 100% correct?
Lol that lady was my coach
She seems like a really nice lady.
John Esparza and that man is my coach
------
A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched by a team-mate is only penalized on becoming involved in
active play by: 1) interfering with play by playing or touching a ball passed or touched by a team-mate or 2) interfering with an
opponent by:
A) preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of
vision OR B) challenging an opponent for the ball OR C) clearly attempting to play a ball which is close to him when this action
impacts on an opponent OR D) making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball OR E) gaining an advantage by playing the ball or interfering with an opponent when it has rebounded or been deflected off the goalpost, crossbar or an opponent, been deliberately saved by any opponent.
that linesman is a fucking legend that off-side call at the end made me crack up
It’s still an offside lmao, this is why football in North America will never be at a level even close to Europe and South America.
Name me one North American coach who coaches a big European team.
EverythingRealMadrid brush I said there are good coaches in North America, but I never said they coached a European football team
:v americans are just new to football
funny. there is not a single talented boy on the field. and nobody notices because they all just freak out about nothing.
Err Pee you can go fuck yourself broo maybe more talented than you.. Those kids on red are my boys and half of them are now playing academy 👍🏼
theyre pretty bad in the video. idk bout now, but theyre very bad in the video
@@hectorpantoja1085 yeahhhh... Right...
@@hectorpantoja1085 yo are you still coaching I was number 8,rudy
@@awilhelmscream89 these are some pretty bad clips there’s a full game Red Bull’s vs wolves, and even besides the point of that, how can you really tell if a kid is talented because his mind which is essential for playmaking and general game knowledge in addition to his body haven’t even begun to develop fully, passion matters more as a kid I’d say
1:45 "the lonely man" (dr. david wagner from the incredible hulk)😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's "Dr. David Banner," fucking idiot! 😠😠😠😠😠
i'll ask the same question , that i ask , for every american soccer video. where was this played? a public recreation ground , or a school sports facility ? thank you
I'm a certified referee and have been doing this for 10 years now, one of the rules states that
"A player is offsides if they interfere with the play and influence it in any way"
Therefore it was offsides because the player prevented the keeper from doing his job.
To be fair, i think he was trying to explain but coachy pooh was having none of it lol
Kid's must be lucky to have adults who will teach them how to behave in sport! Lucky those kid's!
I played on those fields in Garland my entire youth. That was field 9 and someone always kicked the ball over the fence lol
Every bit as exciting as I imagined.
Ref did the right thing. Parents can’t act like hooligans at a kids soccer game.
is it just my soccer district that only does offside u12 and up because there arent any offside rules for our u11
Lol that was a great call by the ref. If a player is offside he cannot touch touch the ball or continue moving in the path of the ball. The player didn't touch the ball but he stood in front of the goalie while he was coming out to get the ball. It is a clear offside.
The reason why these low level games get so intense and sometimes you see strange rulings by referess is the betting on these games by Chinese mafia.
It's offsides the forward made for the ball or looking to participate in the play good call AR...parents it's just a game at this stage it's all about learnig the game
That one kid when everyone started screaming: AHHHHHHHHH
Thats a great call. Good stand by the AR and the Center. Some parents and coaches are ignorant and unaware of the rules
Probably the most civilized conflict in UA-cam history
I use to ref u11 games by myself cause the fields where small this looks huge
It depends on what standard you coach, when I was 9 I played to win, most children, people do.
If I were playing this game, I would be distracted by the amusement park next to it and wanting to go after every game
You know that coach drives a bus all week and comes to these games to vent 😂
Ahh, yes. Teaching children to love the game.
Before we are quick to judge
Each league has different rules
For example in some leagues goals before Half court do not count…
Where was this played? Mexico City.
The player influenced the play therefore it is an offside just because you don't touch the ball being offside does not mean that you are not affecting the play
It's all about having fun for kids. Relax.
What part of “america” is this in?
Absolutely spot on decision by the referee.
It was offside, the parent needed to be sent away from the sideline.
OMFG I am so glad that I was born in Liverpool, the home of great football
Is this in the US or Mexico?
I am a referee and yes it was offside the player in the offside position was nearly in front of the keeper therefore interfering with play.
Good ref...fair and in control
The legend says, the guy is still screaming "nobody touched the ball"
Just read the last sweater it says it all
What kinda Pokémon is that that walks up into bottom right from and the 56 second mark?
Judging from the size and shape, I'd say Guzzlord.
I love how there's just a water park in the background
I’m number 500 subscriber
Flying Doge thanks we are half way we needs 500 more subscribers
Good job to the officials for not taking any bullshit and throwing the coach off
1:03 "I can't keep calm I'm a beltran" LOL
How tf does u11 have assistant referees and a full field
This all infront this kids 👍
Next Generation safe
Props to the refs. You could not see if the player interfered with the keeper or touched the ball from that angle. They handled the situation perfectly.
I can't tell, but some people are missing the point, its when the ball is kicked, not when a player becomes part of the play. If he was in an offside position when the ball was kicked then the call was correct, you cant where he was when the ball was kicked.
Where is this game, Mexico?
Gotta love American youth sports.
Soccer: a sport of the future in the U.S. Always has been, always will be.
Great call! He is involved in the play, the coach just doesn't know the laws of the game.
He is a great ref
Great call by the AR. I'm surprised the AR called it tbh. It doesn't matter if the kid didn't touch it. Nowhere in the laws of the game says he needs to touch it. If the team gains any advantage, which they did because this player made an advance on the ball and blocked the goalie from being able to save it. The goalie could've been able to move forward to stop the ball before it bounced, if that player were not there. Great call 100%.
Oh, I get it now. He was disputing the offside call. Okay, now I’m with it.
I really wish parents would learn about the game before they flip out
Kid's are not worried about who wins they just enjoy playing the game. Wish the coaches had the same attitude as the kid's.
