I say under his breath because I could barely hear a word he said and could understand her completely. She seemed to be itching to boot him from the beginning. Maybe that wasn't the whole video but from what I saw she blew it out of proportion.
I've done a few games, both in center and as an AR. I honestly didn't like her here. It sounded like he quipped about a foot fault. Clearly it was a foot fault and I'd have called it even in U10. Our league placed special emphasis on throw-ins, maybe others are different. Personally, I'd have let him slide assuming he hadn't been chippy the rest of the game, which obviously I can't see. Happy to be corrected though if I didn't hear something else he said before she engaged. One thing we were clear on was you do not engage after you eject, despite this ejection being very soft in my opinion, I haven't seen the rest of the game so maybe this guy was a dick from the opening whistle. You call time, eject, walk all three refs to the center spot, and wait for the person to leave to avoid EXACTLY THIS ESCALATION. Anything further is a call to the Police and a trespass. They can leave in cuffs if needed, but that's not on me.
I think I should probably expand on when I would eject a parent. I look for a pattern of comments or disrespect. I usually ignore it if it's towards me unless I'm the AR, then I report it to the center. My thinking here is that AR's can't get away from abuse, and need to be protected by the center ref. In center I just ignore the parents unless they go at one of my AR's, then it's a warning and an ejection. I've found that in 9 cases out of 10 listening and educating the parent works often they don't know every rule. I've been amazed at how effective "this is the rule, this is what I called, we've got 3 refs on the field, and if we missed it, we're human" is at defusing a situation. If you can teach the rules maybe they don't yell at the next ref. When they continue, I get the coach and go to the parent. "I've explained the rules and the call, and you've continued. It's time for you to go". I let their coach deal with it, and as noted take the refs to center circle to create distance. If the coach needs help then that's when a call is made to the local PD which is on site for games.
She did not handle the situation well. She'd need to empty the whole stadium if she were to officiate a serious game with that kind of attitude. If the guy was using profanity or obstructing the play, then ofcourse you can remove him but not for some childish banter
Exactly. What a bunch of cowards. If that was in my country, his fat lily white ass would have been kicked out by the other parents long before that young woman did it. What a loser.
@AmpEdition "The bigger question is why she got so upset over nothing, people are so screwed up nowadays"... Are you ok? If people aren't told off, the world is gonna get more and more "screwed up". People are less "screwed up" than ever now, just because people voice their opinions. Would you make that same argument regarding the Civil War? The only way to change something is to do something about it, like voicing your opinion. His comments ruin the game, so good on her for standing up, not only for herself, but for the kids playing. Back then? It continues to the present, and will continue in the future. Until leagues, clubs, and\or other parents put the pressure on losers like this guy, it will not end. Now, some leagues and clubs are taking steps - suspensions for parents who get removed from the touchline, fines, even requiring parents who have been removed to officiate games before they're allowed back to the fields. It's a small number, but it's a start; and if it catches on, it could really make a difference.

This is a young woman ref in a kid's league with no security of any kind. Apparently you have never been involved with these kid's leagues but they have rules governing crowd behavior. A fan who breaks the rules can be asked to leave and the guy left. He was warned before being kicked out. A referee is supposed to keep their cool and be professional. It's the main focus/ key to their job. I know because Im a referee myself. She literally had a nervous breakdown over nothing. If you were to stop a game and argue with a fan/parent over something so petty as sideline banter, than you'd be kicking out people every 5 min. If the individual is unruly, using profanity, or otherwise impeding the game to some degree, then you swiftly address the issue by issuing a stern warning and if he/she continues you expell them. Now, some leagues and clubs are taking steps - suspensions for parents who get removed from the touchline, fines, even requiring parents who have been removed to officiate games before they're allowed back to the fields. Giving pops a piece of her mind is dangerous nowadays. I mentored many young refs and would have told her to instruct him to leave, halt the game, advise the coach of her decision and have him/her make sure pops left the area. She did an amazing job U10 can be difficult not because play level but because of parents bitching and no ARs to help
Bloke's probably been doing it all season.
Fantastic work by the ref
That ref was awesome!
Dad, your kid must be sooo proud of you. He’s looking forward to see you in all of his games 👍🏼
YOU GO GIRL. Guys, I am sooo sick of parents at my soccer games yelling at the ref, and at a couple of my games, parents were yelling at my team, and the ref. It's about time parents start acting like parents, because right now, the way they are acting is not okay. This world needs to do something about it.
Nothing happened you halfwit.
I umpired my brothers games a lot and one time I had to toss my mother for chirping at me and threatening to slap me, so I laid the charge of threatening an official. Dad understood because he played ball so after the game he just ran me and a friend to my friends house after we got paid, Before he did drop us off, We decided to go into Burger king for a bite and we further discussed the situation, Dad asked me what I figures would happen so I told him that we'll know when the head league officials, He assured me that I was in the right, mom should not have been causing a disturbance at the game. My Brother started going to games with his teammates. I apologized to my brother for moms behavior, my brother told me no worries. I didn't go back home until the league disciplined my mother.
“You need to start acting like a parent.” Right on!
Shoutout to whoever raised her
1:25 "What did you call me?" "girl" "Someone didn't raise you right...see ya!" I've never been more impressed with an on the spot reaction! This WOMAN is phenomenal!
wait it was boy?
She so fast thinking. Love it.
@@madcowp3 Did you call her a she?
She is not a she, she is a woman, please stop being so impolite!
@@LordJuztice well sorry english is not my main language. i think you miss understand me,
@@madcowp3 Nothing wrong with your english. I was just being silly.
just jking.
This young woman is awesome! She did an amazing job!
I think "someone didn't raise you right" is an under statement. Very well dealt with! Glad it's on tape.
the outplay was cemented when he told her to keep waving her hand and she happily did it
She's a badass! The right stuff. I want her to be a referee at my club.
That was a proud moment for his wife
She is my hero!
Well played young lady direct and to the point.
Great ref, she should get a commendation.
good on you ref, only advice I would of said is once you inform them to leave, then walk away and dont engage them in what they want (an arguement)
What did he say that warranted an ejection?
Hard to tell exactly from the video, but after she warned him about the sarcastic comments he was making he definatly says something about her voice, and I guess that was the final straw for her.
+Cory Clark The guy had been complaining about her not calling handballs the entire game. She had already warned him to shut up repeatedly and he kept on. I feel bad for the ref, but feel worse for his kid.
look we found the loser father
Kudos to her, very strong woman.
That Dad got treated 😂. Im proud of that lady not taking any crap from that miserable parent.
Great ref. Bad parent.
Other way around
I’ve never commented on a UA-cam video , but the referee got my support 200% , thank you for setting the correct behavioural standard to that parent
The scary part is that he's a "parent".
@@steverenom.299 not really cause hes parents must've been worse. Happens when people aren't challenging themselves. He was legit sitting like ig he was in a couch in his living room. An adult who was supporting their children would be standing proud.
@@sisiwuau3716 I'm sticking by my statement that the scary part is he's a parent.
@@steverenom.299 yes it is and unfortunately there are worse parents out there
You go referee. Strong character..I like her
The man was gracious to leave. He didn’t have to . But did it for the sake of the children .
She is terrific and deserves a raise!!
Guarantee you can't explain what he did
he got absolutely schooooleeeeddd!! good on you ref! I applaud you
Fantastic! Well down for standing up that clown!
I love her!
This guy is a sad example of parenting.
he literally said "nice try" in a non sarcastic tone and she blew up and started going off on him
assistant low-level low-level corporate anti ~ dude. ( the pair prob.)
meh i wouldnt call him a bad guy, hes there to support a kid but he just got too into it like dudes usually do with their football teams even tho they could never achieve the physical or fit aspect of the sport lmao
We don't know what he did to warrant her warnings and ejection, do we? I know he got petty in this video... on the other hand, so did she.
He literally didnt even do anything, but at least he’s not a virgin like you
I’m a soccer referee and I’m 14. I’ve had so many parents loose their mind over calls I’ve made. The sad thing is, I’m more responsible than them over a twelve year old game, by keeping my cool. I know that it can be frustrating, but don’t take it out on the ref for doing their job. She handled this good
im completely with you there bro. I umpire hockey, and the stuff I've seen and heard from parents is disgusting even in u11, I cop more people like that parent on those kinds of games than I do when I umpire adults. it's just not right is it?
I have seen this being an adult coach. I have stopped games in the past to address parents abusing the young umpires. I mean come on, the kids playing are 10, the umpire is 14, he's barely older than the players. That ump stepped up and is in a leadership position and deserves support, not 38 year olds yelling at him because he's not perfect.
Same with me I'm a 14 year old referee the best way to deal with this situation considering our age is to speak to the manager and let him sort it out
You better start calling Football
Nice work Ref - well handled. (tiny tip - having given an authorized direction, it's helpful to resist the pressure to react, discuss, justify or elaborate - nuff said).
Ref did great, she handled it perfect…..
