  • In this video I discuss how NOT to make a connection to a submersible pump. Too many times we see this type of piping connection to a well pump that causes the fitting to fail due to the torque produced by the pump starting and stopping. Using a stainless steel Simmons check valve not only provides a strong connection at the pump, it gives you an additional check valve besides the one that comes with most pump ends that does tend to fail prematurely

Why wouldn't the stress move up to the check valve/PVC connection? Thanks

I like that SS check valve ! It's FNPT/MNPT so no additional coupler- Could you please let us know the part number and typical cost of that piece ? Also going with threaded schedule 80 PVC above that a good way to go? My pump sits at 80'.

What type of tape / anti seize do you use for connection stainless to stainless to prevent galling?

Do you ever see properly installed PVC pipe fail on something like a 300 or 350 ft. well with a 2HP pump? Just wondering if the torque eventually wears the plastic out, etc. Thanks.
