Into the Pit. Installing the Pitless Adapter and Yard Hydrants for our Well Water Line.

- Опубліковано 11 жов 2024
- We installed a pit-less adapter to connect our well line to the well. And we installed Woodford Iowa Y34 frost free Yard Hydrants. We are moving forward quickly after feeling like we were stalled for far too long. Spring time weather is giving us a nice push.

From a Water Well Drilling an Repair stand point one of the better pitless adapter installs along with hydrants. I have no clue where you are located but if you take say 10' of 4'' corrugated tile and slit back the end a foot top an bottom with 2 holes to go around your hydrant then tie & cap/seal off the ends you will create a better drain if you use a hydrant in the winter they aren't freeze proof if they can't drain. Have installed 1000s of that type pitless we hang our pumps on the same water line you buried 160 psi there's no need for 2 clamps use the proper size #16 make sure they are total SS and don't push pipe tight against the shoulder ,heat the pipe a little flame on won't hurt. After you clamp one an it cools remove the clamp just see if you can remove it. Make sure you put the hydrants down on the ground and bed under your pitless adapter well even back fill with sand cause anytime the pipe can sag you create issues lord knows I've dug enough over the years for what ever reason to repair. Good work you did well be nice to see pump & pressure tank install is there a well log on the well and is there a video on the well drilling ? Thanks from a NW OH family of Water Well Drillers since 1966 now 3rd generation ,good job!
Awesome information. Thank you. I was not making videos when the well was drilled in 2018. I will be doing the pump instal soon.
@@breakheartorchard4761 any questions or concerns about a pump or tank install be glad to offer insight do you have info on the well think you told what the pump was gpm an well made gpm and depth plus static water level. All have effects on pump depth an even tank size to a point. Sent an email thanks again for the video.
Thanks for the pro advice… looking at many videos .. I’m doing my own install this coming weekend..
Standing side by side of every good woman, is a good man. You both are doing such a great job, thank you for the great content.
Thanks for watching
Did I hear a flock of ducks? It was a familiar sound that I hear when I'm working too, lmao!!
Whew. It gets real.
Spray paint those spots in Case those flags fly away😜
So happy for you guys it's coming along now
I so enjoy watching you two work together, it reminds me of my husband and I doing this type of thing for 55 years now. LOL Lots fancier things they use now than we had to use back then but it's still all working after 48 years of digging our own septic tank hole and drain fields by hand with shovels and I mean..........UGH.....lol You just never know what you can do til you try. In your early 20's you just do it because it's fun and a challenge. HA HA HA and pray it lasts.....never thinking of issues down the road. What a time, that is why I love watching you guys, I'm living my youth again. :-) Everything looks wonderful and good hard work is rewarding and fulfilling, tiring but lots of good energy directed toward your dreams..........Love it!
God bless, hang in there and I can't wait until I see the power and water flowing through those outside pipes.......and inside when it's ready. LOOKING GREAT!!!! Come on SPRING!!!! :-)
The daffodils are already starting to bloom. before you know it, the mountain will turn green again. I love your perspective on this, having been thru the same struggles.
@@breakheartorchard4761 Yahooooo I see spring on the way and this year you will be in your home.......I just can hear and feel the excitement in your voices, even when tired, it's like "we're closer"...........best of luck and let the daffodils bloom and the humming birds come in for nectar! Forward March! Best wishes!
I am so ready get over the hump and move in.
From the aerial view the battle lines have been drawn with those trenches. It's makes a vlog when @jefanna winks in the camera, I know it's not for us but still good to see.
Will add a wink for you. Those were some trenches for sure.
Wow. Electrical flagged and laid out. Trenches dug for water lines and pipe laid with outdoor spigots being installed. I’m really happy for you. You’ve been able to envision your outdoor water outlets and now they are plumbed and in place where you can visually see them. Congratulations I know that is a big accomplishment. The excavator sure has earned its keep. Well as you push the fittings together keep on pushing forward you almost have running water and electricity. Fantastic. Stay safe
FYI - whenever you're installing 2 hose clamps, they should tighten in opposite directions. It makes for a tighter seal.
Thanks
@@breakheartorchard4761 never heard that before.
This was a great education on the pitless connects. Great Stuff!!!
These hydrants are the cat daddys
I am in love with them. ❤️❤️❤️
Good Morning and you have your hands full with doing your piping. Have a wonderful weekend.
I think you both did a great job! Things are moving alone 😏
The success makes me a little antsy. I am so eager live in this house.
That was some mighty fine trenching. You know your wife trusts you when she is standing in a hole and you were shoveling dirt in that same hole. Hahahaha
Yes, I was thinking the same thing, when I was editing. You never want to get too comfortable around a piece of big machinery, but it's nice to know she has confidence in my ability.
Good morning Break Heart and family, wow amazing getting a video to relax on. Greetings from Jamaica 🇯🇲
Oh boy here you go!!!! So excited for you guys! Check I'm excited too!!! Love you guys!!!!!
Thank you.
Lynn, us as well! I have already started planting hoping we have water in time.
A woman's touch always over power man hahaha 😄 😅🤣 you guys are awesome have a wonderful weekend GOD BLESS 🙌 😊
Estella, we are so getting there. Was tough this last weekend….not on vid yet, but we struggled a bit running line. It will happen.
@@jefannavital2187 he is at least double your size and managed to hold when pushing the barb fittings. That was impressive.
@@MrJramirex it is all the push-ups. Hahah thank you for noticing.
I installed a pit-less adapter at my last house, with the well. Best decision ever, no more running a drop cord and light, out to the well cover every winter...
wow What a Job Guys ! but so good to see the work outside to get your water on and the power it will be a game changer for you both, had a few laughs as well. Well Done ( Exuse the pun)! lol
Banjo, I have planted some things in the hopes we will have water in time. Let us hope this happens soon.
@@jefannavital2187 hi Jefanna Australia is now flooding and rivers are breaking all on the east coast . Where I live is OK but if we get more rain and a king tide we will be under water. Have you seen Australia s floods on the news? You will have water in time to give to your new plants Jefanna. I can send you some from here, how many gallons do you need ? hahaha
Woo hoo what a game changer that's going to be. Nice job guys.🙂
Thank you for being here the whole time!
Holy cow, I love that idea for a T-post in the ground and attach the hydrant to it. When it gets warm I might just do that here! My original hydrant needs a rebuild so I can do a 2 for 1 🙂 Great info and looks like a great setup you have there.
Awesome video! I'll be looking for the pump install video as I am very close to installing mine as well.
For the well, Direct bury the electric cable. I wasted time and money with the conduit. If I ever have to do that again I will just direct bury the cable.
Stay healthy.
I hope you checked the valve to make sure it functioned well before back filling, I didn't and now my hydrant is constantly on I've no desire to redig by hand a 6x4' hole and hang upside down trying to fix it. You need to buy an automatic ball thrower for your dog...He'll entertain himself for HOURS :)
Job Well Done. Yer Gainin' on It. I didn't see you use any pipe dope on the threaded adapter to the pitless adapter. Using both teflon tape and pipe dope (white) is always a good thing to do on those type connections. You might still be alright, but I would check that real close. Power and water coming in will be a great help and you guys are so close to movin' in.
Awsome team work
You also would be safer to put in some shut off valves along the pipe line just in case of unexpected pipe bursts.
yea, I'd never feed yard hydrants off my pump line.Back feed from house. That continous piece of pipe is priceless..
Are you going to install a pressure tank . I put 2 50 gallon tanks on my well for reserve storage nice job enjoy your vidios
Nicely done
David by the time you finish this build you can receive your Jack of all trades certificate. When is the expected move in date.
We are moving in this year, late Summer.
Red Green said, you may find the women don't think your handsome but they sure find you handy.... whats that got to do with the price of gas now?? Nothing, I just put it in there... good job as its no easy task of non ending piddling jobs. First things first is to get the trail for electric settled so if anything breaks down, its after the pipe is covered in spots it has to be for the electric. I have forgot the stainless clamps, come very close to putting my pitless in wrong (we have a twenty foot plus frost line) working at two AM and wishing for the PM so the hole could warm up. You have to be very lucky to get water in that kind of soil. Your sure able for a pond if you so desire as clay isn't short there. Gonna shine nice when all done. You really have the view!
It figures out about 1,14 gallons of water in a six inch pipe one foot long so that will tell you how many gallons are already standing in the pipe... Kinda just want to look at your video some more as we are getting pounded on with snow today
I love snow, but I have to admit that this year, I am over it. It has caused us to miss some work days on the house build and Every lost day is like lost money.

You hooked your yard hydrants up wrong. The way you have them hooked up they will only work when your pump is on, which will only be when your pressure tank calls for water. You need a line coming back out of the house after the pressure tank. You can have that line before any water softener.
I worked with the pump company on the design. I believe it will work.
@@breakheartorchard4761 odd way of doing it but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
I am running a cyclestop valve, constant pressure system. The valve will be located before the hydrants in the line. Opening the hydrant causes a drop in pressure which causes the pump to activate. It is really that same concept you are used to, just with a change in component locations and no reserve tank
@@breakheartorchard4761 ah, makes sense.

Wait a minute.
She's doing all the work, you're only supervising, then you say "I am going to do all this work, this weeken" ???
How about you say, WE'RE GOING TO DO THIS WORK ?
